Hive Watchers Thinks I'm Spam

in #hive4 years ago (edited)

Click here to see what @hivewatchers think of me. They think that I cannot say hello to people in a potentially repetitive fashion. All of that is subjective because it is hard to draw the line between how repetitive a post should be or should not be. It is the same reason why copyright is dangerous.

@hivewatcher or I mean @hivewatchers wrote: "Spamming comments is frowned upon by the community. Continued comment spamming may result in the account being Blacklisted." I replied: "I cannot say hello to people?" So, it appears that people are going after me again because they do not like how friendly I am. I have more to say on this as I've been battling people for many years now. At least once a year, this happens.

I am not spam. The problem is that I write to too many people. So, repetition happens when a word is repeated. But how many words have you accidentally said again and again without knowing it? Are you not guilty of unintentionally repeating yourself 100% or 99% or 50% or 1% or 33% or where do you draw the line and how often do you draw a line? That's the thing about subjectivity and other things as well. I can talk all day about what Disney did. I hope you are not trying to do to me what Walt Disney did to his partner. There is a lot of history involved in what may or may not be spam or not spam. I can write books about it and still be accused of being spam. So, you can call me spam and pretend as if you don't do it yourself. That's reflection deflection. I will be saying more on this in the future. I've been writing about these things for years. I wrote a new article about this a second ago and mentioned @hivewatchers and I will continue to write about it in the future. I've been placed falsely on Steem blacklists each year basically it happens, 2017, 2018, 2019, and potentially it might happen again in 2020 thanks to people like you. Every year or every few months I run into this same issue and my strategy has been to simply write a bunch of articles and go around the Internet telling people what happened and I have been taken off the blacklists for alleged spam. I am not spam but people call me spam just like Hillary Clinton called half of American citizens, like over one hundred million people, deplorables, sexist, racist, Nazis, etc. So, calling somebody spam is just as bad in some ways. Now, of course, it is possible that I might be spam. But I am not. I will be writing more posts about this and other related things in the future as I am a writer and this is what I do. I write thousands and thousands of comments and too many articles to count. And bots copy and paste their messages and you are not going after them. I have real messages and comments and posts that can sometimes be repetitive to a degree, to an extent, and you choose to go after me and not the bots. That's selective enforcement which is what Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc, does, which makes you no better than them. You could choose to downvote my posts and comments. If you do, then I will write about you on other websites and talk in code and go black market kind of thing like underground to continue to let people know know that people are harassing me and falsely accusing me of things that I am NOT doing, etc, etc, etc, etc, and much more, to be continued. PS, I upvoted and reblogged or shared or resteemed or rehived this post of yours. I gave you an upvote. Please do not flag me. Please do not downvote me. I am not going to flag or downvote you.

Sadly, @hivewatchers thinks I am spam and is going after me. I just wrote an article about it. This happens to me almost yearly since 2017, people put me on blacklists on Steem a few times or many times and it may happen again very soon.

To be continued.

I also think that the current approach of hivewatchers is not to the best of this platform.

I agree 💯

I repeat myself for sure and so do many others, does each community and does hivewatcher(s).
I do not know how to solve this problem except by joining a different platform or stop commenting at all. I cannot wish you a great Sunday because if I spam you. So.... day 💕

Yeah. I wrote hi and hi in a few of my comments to random new people who may never ever respond back. But some might. So, I start a conversation and say hi and some might respond and some may not. I know you and I will spend more time on you. But when you are looking at hundreds and hundreds of new people who join Hive, should you invest in writing new comments to these people when they may not give you anything in return? The answer is that it depends and people can choose to prioritize their time and take some risks and again it depends on different factors and different things. So, I choose to test people and to probe people and some accounts can be bots and some new accounts are kind of abandoned. And some people are kind of boring and there is not a lot you can say to some people and you will sometimes say the same thing to multiple people as many people are the same. Person one, wow, you love basketball. Person two, wow, basketball you love lol. Person three, wow, I see that you like to put the ball in the hoop. Person four, oh you love Michael Jordan. Person five, oh you love basketball me too, so fun yeah yeah. Person six, oh you athlete you me too yeah yeah. Of course as you can see, you can try to come up with unique comments. But imagine this, person 9,456, oh ummmmmmmm basketball you you you ummmm you like so much yeah yeah yeah oh buddy buddy yeah yup yeehaw you likey like basketball oh boy boy boy boy boy boy green frogs yup yup.

If your comment is "Hi" or "that is nice" or anything that is a kneejerk reaction instead of commenting on the content then it is probably best to not comment. Although to be fair the majority of comments are shit post marketing tricks since you only go say hi , not just you but we all have I think and many do, they only say hi on posts or make some crappy you look pretty generic comment so that person can then go visit their blog. If hive is social media then we have to tolerate that trash and since they feel they are in the same league as real social media then say Hi to your hearts content until they can enforce it in the code because managing community with people can never work. code is law.

Daddy, can I stay up a little later? Daddy, can I hang out with my friend tonight? Daddy are you married to Mark Zuckerberg? Is spam an exception to the Free Speech Clause of the first amendment?

I don't live in Murica so don't care for their free speech. This is a platform and a blockchain so you need to take it on those merits. I don't care how you comment since it does not affect me. The platform however should have an opinion on it so you do not have entities like hivewatchers roaming enforcing whatever rules they feel like. This again just means that it should be enforced through a defacto ruleset maybe. Such as moderation in communities. If it is your idea of adding value by just saying hi for 50 consecutive comments then so be, free speech may be free but is not free of consequence. Since we are in a "community" governed environment. Just my 2 cents.

Should they go after bots who literally spam new people with the same exact messages, the same exact comments, to people who introduce themselves to Steem, Hive, etc, since at least 2017 or longer, the bots automatically comments on anybody who posts using those certain tags, the hashtags, #introduceyourself, #introducemyself, etc? I say if you are going to create a bot to target comments that might accidentally repeat itself sometimes absolutely or to an extent, then the bot should go after not just people who have repeated comments or whatever comments and posts but also bots too. Why should bots be untouchable? Why should bots be turned into corporations that get out of being required to pay taxes as many find loop-holes and ways to exempt themselves or wire money to offshore banks, etc. I would make the bot target every account that violates whatever you put in the code, the alleged rules, as opposed to selective enforcement which is what Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc, etc, have done, did, many times. Some bots can be like the artificial intelligence (AI), the algorithm, the coding, the programs, etc, found on the social ghetto networks of Facebook, etc.

Them not going after bots is the context I did not have and fair enough. I would say that if we agree hivewatchers is doing something on behalf of the community then both bots and users must be treated equal, this is actually trivial for them to do. If that is the case the criteria needs to be public and we can assume that all the big stake will back them so it is not a case of caring whether the community likes it so with public criteria at least people will know. Obviously, at that point it is another case of finding a new platform because this shit is wack lol.

As you mention though you have dealt with this for a few years now, and I wonder how this has not reinforced a different commenting pattern? To be clear I am not against you commenting hi, I don't care but it is fascinating to know how a person becomes a target so often.

Long story short, I've seen bots go after other bots on Steem. So, it has happened but it seems that it doesn't always happen. I guess it depends on the coding which will tell the bots what to do. Some people have said they have reduced some spam thanks to bots and that may be true to an extent. So, I'm not totally against having bots to the extent bots can discourage spam perhaps, well, until you're accused of being spam yourself kind of thing.

I'd rather get a few "thanks" or "nice post" comments than zero comments.

OMG you on hive finally. To be fair I have not exactly been present, mmm I rarely am but did check out the account a few weeks ago I think. Regardless I would be guilty of being silent until the mood strikes me which is not often since I tire myself with bullshit in DM and discord.

Yes fair enough thanks and nice post is fine, I am a little on the fence about whether that is from people I know or not. I think people I know would say more of substance. But ey you never know what effect those will have and maybe it makes the persons day. I see I have a nice comment to respond to above ;)

There's a proposal to make hive blacklists opt-in/opt-out.

Basically like a mute-list that any individual can create for themself and then others can choose to subscribe or unsubscribe to that user's mute-list (so they don't have to create/maintain their own mute list).

If this gets implemented, I might just abandon the old platform altogether!

I take a look what our AI say to your postings. She is very hard in her justice. My work she say, is just a little bit over 60% to be good. :-)

Do not care about to much about these placklisings, it is like it is.

Will I be back on a blacklist like I was before? They put me on blacklists where bots downvoted all my comments and all my posts and that kept on happening and it felt worse than Facebook Jail. All my comments and posts went grey. It was hiding away behind a bush and the last time this happened was probably in 2019. Will it happen again? Do I have to make sure I say random words like Banana See See and Purple Gold Digger to trick the bots from marking me as spam? Will the Cheetah go after me too? What about the Lion too?

downvoted all my comments and all my posts and that kept on happening and it felt worse than Facebook Jail.

That is what we do not with your content ans i understand this very good point of your view, i am with you. I wrote down your name and take a look in the next day´s.

I think a blacklist is Ok, for very hard thinks like porn with childs or other unhuman thinks you know wath i mean. But in your case, it does sense to overwatch the blacklist bots and ai´s personaly, That is what with cheatah not going on, he is a perfect example for stupid destroying with good meanings. Did you know who makes the Cheetah???

Regards and do not be to much sad about.

Really enjoyed that post . As you can see I've been blacklisted for making a honest mistake and been treated like a proper bad criminal it's a joke hivewatcher and hivewatchers are the worst spammers on the here 😂 copy and paste all day long and get paid for it 🤔

Do you know about the Discord servers and channels and also some Telegram groups and other websites and other chat rooms and different places where you might be able to let people know what might have happened to you or have you already tried to tell people your story or your stories? Are you currently on blacklists? I'm guessing some bots might be automatically downvoting and flagging you right now. I was put on blacklists and I told people and I was taken off the blacklists a few times since 2017 when I joined Steem, I mean Steemit specifically, and I might be put on a blacklist again in 2020 on Hive and maybe on Steem too but I will always try to tell everybody everywhere what is happening and you should always try your best to write articles, posts, comments, memes, pictures, videos, GIFs, documents, etc, etc, many different things or whatever you want to do, but on different websites, on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Minds, Gab, Steemit, Hive, forums, email, online, offline, the more places the better, because all you can do is let people know you did this and this and this, specifically everything you did in details and then they did this and this and that and just make sure you have story told in different ways and in different places and never stop trying to speak the truth and letting people know what happened as that helps people make decisions and many different things. But it starts with you believing in the value of spreading the word. If you believe in something strong enough, then nothing can stop you.

I have been spreading the word about this fake blacklist if you have Instagram please contact me @kgakakillerg so we can speak more please check out my page on hive @kggymlife you will find out more I've been writing posts about why I'm on the blacklist and also sharing others story's thanks for replying 🤝

Do you want to check me out on Discord?

Yeah

There's good and bad things about this proposal just hopefully the good outweighs the bad as long as we can fully opt-out of unfair blacklists but as I said already this will get abused by the people who know a lot of people on here say for instance you and a friend don't like someone you blacklist that person and then go ahead and tell your friends to blacklist that person and it just keeps going on

for instance you and a friend don't like someone you blacklist that person and then go ahead and tell your friends to blacklist that person

VOLUNTARY blacklists are used to mitigate harassment and help filter out boring content (spam).

It's just like setting a spam filter on your email, if someone is harassing you, you just filter them.

It doesn't "do anything" (scarlet letter/black mark) to the "bad" person, unless you VOLUNTARILY join (subscribe to) a blacklist that happens to have that person on that list.

For example, if this proposal goes through, the first thing I'll do is UNSUBSCRIBE from marky's vigilante BS blacklist.

Thanks for explaining abit more 🤝

this is absolutely hypocritical. Bots are spamming our posts every day, but they do not mind about them. They have problem with actual users who are manually writing posts to engage with other people.

Yup. This has been an ongoing debate for years now, the bot wars, Pre-Terminator Era.
