I used to look on @dappradar to see how the various Hive dapps (decentralised apps) were doing, but it seemed to be giving less reliable data. There was also @stateofthedapps, but that seems to have disappeared. Looked at the rankings for Hive I can see Splinterlands at the top, as I would expect, but the numbers for the social sites seem low. I am not even sure I have seen the game @terracore.
If I look at all chains then others seem to have a lot more active users. I think most of us know that Hive lacks users. It may just be a few thousand interacting here and that is insignificant compared to the corporate platforms. We still have plenty of potential for growth even if we only get 1% of the market.
Be aware that another fake airdrop has been doing the rounds. Hive themselves never do these, but projects on Hive may. It is always best to check if trusted accounts have verified such things, but even then there is a chance they have been hacked. Even the US SEC can have their social account hacked. With Hive you need to be extra careful as if you lose control of your account it may be impossible to recover. Any site that does not off Hive Keychain or Hivesigner should be treated with suspicion, especially if it asks for your active or master key.

- @skiptvads does in-depth reviews of TV shows and movies with lots of screenshots. There may be spoilers, so use appropriate caution. These posts could be a good place to discuss the shows after you have seen them.
- @ugochill talks about another musical collaboration he is working on. There have been lots of these arising from Hive, especially around the @risingstargame.
- @ravenmus1c is announcing the projects she is working on. As well as issuing NFTs she is working on new music and also a game.
- @killerwot has some thoughts on bringing people to Hive by just sharing links to content. If people come here and ask about it then we can follow that up, but we can work on normalising Hive as a destination.
- @dbooster talks about commenting. I see it as valuable in encouraging people to post, but it needs to be sincere. I see people who just seem to aim for quantity rather than quality.
These people get a share of the post rewards.
The End
We are rapidly approaching the end of January. If you have targets for the year then you need to get on with working towards them. There will be another Hive Power Up Day next week. I was trying to buy some $HIVE via Transak today, but it has not come through yet. They have not taken any money either.
Next weekend I will do a new #BritList. I really hope the numbers will improve this year.

The Terracore game is pretty cool, I've been playing since it started. The ingame music is pretty cool and I usually have it on in the background while writing and reading.
Cheers for the mention man. Some Reddit posts can go pretty wild, so being able to add in links to relevant posts from here in the comments of them could be great for getting eyes on us.
I just don't get much of an audience on other platforms, so there's limits to how many people I can expose to Hive. All my friends have seen links. A few have joined.
That's the same as me man, but when I noticed the submission for short stories on that Reddit community, I just figured I'd go for it. I haven't actually shared much of my work outside of Hive, so it's cool in that way too.
Hacking and phishing are rife and getting more sophisticated. I got one from Trezor the other day and it was legitimately from them but what the hackers had done was hack their mail servers to send their phishing nonsense direct. You can't trust anything now
Email is not a very secure medium. Anything can potentially be hacked and we need to be on our guard.

Just a quick note to say I used Transak on Thursday. Once I got past the compliance questionnaire it worked just fine, got the hive I purchased ready for HPUD as I missed January.

Transack has been great for me, usually 5 mins from Sterling to HIVE. If it's late, send them an email, they are responsive,
I can see the transaction failed, but don't know why. I tried Google Pay instead of a bank transfer this time. Will try again.
