The News

There is still nothing too cheery about the $HIVE price, but maybe it has gone as low as it will for now.

Prices from @coingecko via my script

I always say that it partly in our hands to change things. Hive is a social platform and so we need far more people to be using it regularly. It is just a few thousand right now. The price may be partly to blame, but it can also be the chicken/egg problem of not enough cool content and not a big enough audience to attract the creators. We need pioneers to build that audience.

One thing we can do is to get discussions going about Hive on other platforms. Today I saw @ravenmus1c talking about a Hive community on the Ex-Twitter. I am not on there any more, but they can promote it. There are various efforts that will reward you for doing so.

I do follow Hive on FB. You need to watch out for fake accounts trying to scam you there. I have seen one pretending to be Hive.

On Hive.io are links to the other social accounts including Instagram, Youtube, Telegra, and reddit. If you follow those and engage it may help improve visibility.

If we can persuade some people with large followings elsewhere to come to Hive then we have the chance to build something.

There was a big Discord discussion last week with contributions from several people running big projects about the Hive fund. We may see some changes around that soon. I hope there will be more such discussions to focus our efforts.

Friday Follows

  • I am not sure I knew @blocktunes was into 3D printing, but he just posted about it. I am finding more people who share this hobby.
  • @sagarkothari88 posts daily about development on Hive. There is lots going on and you may be able to contribute in some way.
  • @hdev has updates on the core Hive development.
  • There is a new game called Limitless from @liaminit1.
  • In the wake of the Brofund collapse @bozz and others have been trying to get that community back together around a new account at @thepub. That all kicked off just after I did my #FollowFriday post last week.

The Dog House

This is not a criticism of individuals, but I really do wonder what some people think they are doing on social media. What is the point of a Snap like this? I saw some people responded, but then some of them seem to comment on just about everything. I doubt any of them will make much.

So what?

If you want real engagement then you need to create conversations. If you post a picture of your dinner then say something about where you are in the world and what the food means to your culture. On Snaps you have a 280 characters so you can say quite a lot. Make it count.

The End

We are rapidly heading for the end of 2025. I am happy to report that I reached my Hive Power target for the year, so I will comfortably exceed that. Will you reach your goals? Even though the $HIVE price is not great we can still be earning every day. As I said, we can each contribute to making Hive a better place to be. Bring in your friends and make it fun so you want to come back.

Thanks for mentioning me and the Hive community on X! I hope we can make it grow even more.

I hit my goal too, so it is all just icing on the cake now. It would be cool to close out the year closer to 120K. Thanks for the shout out! I think we have a good variety of people in there and we are always looking to grow! Still possible talk about a token in the future too. Who knows!

Tokens can complicate matters and need some thought, so I would focus on the social side first. I'm sure you will make it fun.

We have some good folks with some good ideas. I think the most important thing is that we will never sell it as an investment. If that is your goal, you will be really disappointed!

I have happily marshalled my hp app router and broken the 200K! Sometimes bad price action isn't so bad 😃

That's great. I've noticed we're getting more people with bigger stakes and that matters a lot.

It definitely does. Fingers crossed for good times ahead!

I never set myself any target, but I just noticed today I can easily hit another digit milestone, so I'm very pleased with that.

As to dog house, there are a lot of new accounts that jump straight in on their first post to liquidise rewards, never comment or follow anyone. I can't believe no one else thinks that's an issue we're flooded with milkers.

Those people who don't stick around won't make much so they are the losers. Building a following takes time, but can pay off.

They're not interested in building a following, they're just here to milk, and they will stick around, they just keep in opening new accounts and repeat the process

It's sad, but some only care about rewards. If the price does go up then we will see more of it, but it's a price of success.

Update: @steevc, I paid out 8.436 HIVE and 0.000 HBD to reward 14 comments in this discussion thread.

I hit a target a few days ago, commiserations or congratulations, I don't know..., it's not hard to spot.

That's cool. I think the jury is still out on whether we have made the right moves, but I'm enjoying the journey.

I wish I was, after years.. it's not quite the same for me. I'm stuck here.., for now.

I think we each have different experiences.

Hive, came for the rewards, stayed for the drama ;)

Good evening 👹

Everyone is welcome at Hive, I just think they need the right introduction. I recently helped a friend join and she needs a lot of guidance, you could say I'm her mentor on the platform.

Good luck with that. I know it can be hard work to get people settled in here.

vibrant community will not just attract new users, but it will also motivate creators to showcase their finest work here.

We need both sides of the equation. When there is good content then people need to engage with it. It is not just about the rewards.

The DHF discussions are imo the biggest thing going on, together with the new Holozing proposal. I wrote my take on it on Wednesday.

I've not followed Holozing stuff. There's various stuff going on, but building the community is always important.

The thing is, on hive people just post about crypto or travel or food mainly, or games like splinterlands, why someone from web2 should join? There are no economic news, general news, geopolitics, history, medicine and health and so on as that topics didn't deserve rewards according to some, you can't attract the crowd without them

People have lots of different interests. I enjoy the comics, music, tech stuff and the running community. I'm not that bothered about crypto really. Our issue is that we are thinly spread so you may not find that many who share your interests. A lot of the problems go away if we can scale up, but we need those pioneers to take the first steps. I think we could actually do well in niche interests if we can get enough people around them.
