Hey hey, it's Friday! I am not going to post the HIVE price here as it may depress people. We need to focus on growing the platform and that will help boost it. Of course some will mainly worry about their rewards, but if we can create a compelling social platform then we may get somewhere. Billions use other platforms for no reward and we ought to get a bigger slice of the market. We should be signing up our friends and fans from other places. You can do this via Hive Onboard (add your own account to get referrals) or you can create accounts directly if you have enough Resource Credits. You can see I have claimed lots of accounts. I have put out an offer to create them for people via Twitter, but am not getting any takers right now. Get in touch if you know people who can use them.
Some big news this week is that a potential US president has joined Hive! I heard from @sgt-dan that @verminsupreme has created an account, but has yet to post. If would be cool if he had more followers when he does. From what I can see he talks a lot more sense than the current resident of the White House.
You may know what I am a lover off all things #guitar. I created the Hive Guitar Community and I follow various players here. There is lots of talent here and you may enjoy their music. Fill your feed with what you love. Here are some players I can recommend:
- @davidfar is a musicians and producer who works in various genres. He put out some samples of his work this week. I was discussing with him the issues with getting a sustainable income from music on Hive. This is an area that needs some attention. It would be great if someone could build a streaming service where you could vote up songs you enjoy to send rewards to the artist.
- @gtown is a fine player from Australia who has been posting his versions of some cool songs. He should have more than 38 followers. Extra points for having a Telecaster as his profile picture.
- @bexe is from Guatemala and a very good guitarist who plays in a prog metal band. He only has 9 followers and needs some encouragement to share more of his music with us.
- @dreamrafa from Venezuela is more established on Hive, but his posts could do with more engagement. He does some great productions of covers and original songs.
- @deadspace likes to rock out with his Riff of the Week.
People mentioned get a share of the rewards from this post.
I see great potential for Hive as a home for musicians. These are tough times with little possibility of live gigs and they ought to welcome extra income. One artist bringing over a few thousand fans could transform the platform.

I think that one of the best things about the internet in general is that it brings people who share an interest together regardless of where they are. Hive can be a good home for all sorts of people.

ENGAGEtokens.Thank you for mentioning @verminsupreme. Actually I created this account for him back in February claiming the account with my resource credits (RCs) and have held the account in trust since then until Mr. Supreme claimed it.
I finally received an e-mail from him and sent him his keys so that he could access the account (yes I did verify that the e-mail account was actually his).
Just want to be transparent. Hopefully he will be posting soon! It would be great to see him posting on @3speak as well!

I was accused by William Shatner on Twitter® of just sitting on names, but in my defense, Vermin Supreme is the only famous name account I have ever claimed.
Just waiting now for him to post or contact me again. I may do a follow up e-mail today to show him how to change his keys and tips on having a recovery account. There is quite a learning curve with HIVE or any blockchain based social media platform for that matter as you know.
I was contacted, via Twitter® messaging, by a lady who identified herself as his CM, I guess that means career manager? Of course, did not share any secure information with her. One must be careful. She referenced STEEM and I did explain to her that HIVE was a fork of STEEM. I will also make inquiries via Mr. Supreme's e-mail if this person is who she claims she is.

No. He has a Twitter® account but not one here on HIVE that I am aware of.
Verification is vital, but all he has to do is Tweet that it's him. I have not claimed any accounts apart from those I actually use. I am surprised there has not been more of a 'land grab', but then some people have hundreds of accounts.
I'll have to check out the new people that you mentioned. (I assume they're new with that few followers.)
I can't claim the title of "guitar player", I rather suck at it. I currently play a baritone ukulele, only 4 strings for my squirrel paws to manage. I used to be a bass player, back in the day...
I have various ukes from soprano to tenor that I enjoy. We have lots of musicians on Hive and I think we could build more of a community.

ENGAGEtokens.Yeah, the price has been pretty horrible. Just a good time to keep doing what you are doing and forget about all of that for a while I guess. I don't really have any friends, so I don't have a ton of people that I could ask to join Hive :) I have tried to get a couple people in the past, but they just smiled and nodded. My good friend has expressed a little interest from time to time, but I honestly don't think he would have the time to commit to it.
I have got a few friends on board, but most are inactive. I hope some will come back some time. I think that for now you have to be really into it to keep going.

You may not have enough RCs to do that. Seems I can claim 14 right now, but I just don't need them until I get rid of some more.
Well, normally it also uses the RC from the leases and I have 30k leased HP, should be more than 1 claim account worth :D

While I did not follow any of them, I did add them or make sure all of those mentioned were added to my Music I maintain on peakd, and did provide a small vote for their current post. My follow feed is already to long to manage so I have started using the list function for topics I like to jump around to on occasions, so thanks for the names, it has allowed me to expand my list by a few.
I have to limit how many I follow to keep it manageable. I ought to look at lists for others. I am just trying to help with discovery. Lots of good people with few followers. I want fun stuff in my feed.
I use the peakd list function a lot. I am interested in keeping up with witness when it is close to fork timers and same with developers, so I have a dev and a witness list.
If in a music mood I go to my music list, a reading mood my Authors/writers list, etcetera. You can have the same person on multiple list, so it works pretty good I think.
I find I spend all my time on the feed, but I'll keep that in mind. Having more options helps it work for more people.
