For many of…

For many of you who know me it is no secret that I enjoy playing Texas hold ‘em poker. It’s also no secret that I’m just “an average player”; but just like with anything you do, if you pay attention and learn from your mistakes eventually you’ll get better at it. With all this “down time” from the CV19 shit I’ve been able to increase my playing to usually 3 or 4 games a day. So if this CV19 hangs on very long I stand a chance of improving maybe to a “slightly” better than average status.

This could end…

This could end up being one of those posts that I like to call “housekeeping” posts and back when I was on FIRED I normally would reserve those for Saturdays. Seeing how I have been pretty much around the house now for two weeks I honestly have lost track which day the week it is on at least a couple of occasions. So, even though today’s not Saturday (which I did know without checking) I’m gonna go ahead and do some housekeeping.

The first thing…

The first thing I need to get done is recruit some you folks to come join me over at brosinopoker.com . I really would like you to step in and join us over there and I guarantee you that you won’t lose any of your own money.

“But you haven’t even seen me play poker, how can make such a guarantee?” say you. Say me, “Because it is TOTALLY GUZBUCKING FREE to play.” that’s how I can guarantee it.

It doesn’t matter what your poker skillz* are, beginner to ex-poker professional gambler, as long as you have a valid HIVE account and are in good standing with community I’m pretty darn sure that they’ll let you sit at the tables and play. The best part is you can in fact win HIVE crypto currency as they offer FREE ROLL tournaments with HIVE as the prizes.

The next on…

The next on my list is responding back to the post that @geekgirl did recently on the upcoming Teams tournament season. She suggested in that post us poker players share our “notes” on the other players. It might be the reason I’m just an average poker player, how the hell did I know I suppose to “keep notes on players”? The purpose of the posts is to use the HIVE earned from the post to raise prize money for the tournaments while the search is on for a tournament sponsor.

Aside from the fact that I don’t have notes; there is another thing in her post which is “rules”, I don’t really like rules; I treat rules as “suggest guidelines”. If I can easily follow them, (and don’t have an issue with them), I generally will do as those say. I do believe in helping out though, as I have proven in the past on FIRED with Saturday SBI give away I used to do.

So, thus far since the poker site switch to HIVE from GUZBUCKS I’ve won $13.00 HIVE (not bad for six days) so I am going to donate $10 of those HIVE to the prize fund rather than go trouble of buying a note book and then take some notes, so then I can share ‘em with the world. Some things truly are best kept as secrets.

Sorry Geek, I hope that will help a little.

Now, on the other hand @snook does play by the rules and she did a very nice review of my poker playing as she shared her notes, if care to see what she wrote here is the link.

What do I…

What do I need to sweep away next as I do this housekeeping? Oh, I know what it was… I know there are some very talented writer’s who read the “dash”, as I now refer to it, and I appreciate that very much.

I heard a rumor though that reason people read me is I'm a prime example of how not to write (might be some truth there). I could not care what the reason is you read the Dash, I just want to know at what level of HIVE prize money will make you write something and enter a contest?

There is a contest going on with $100 HIVE in prizes, which will split 50/30/20 for the three best stories as judged by the sponsor. I think it is damn shame that a good guy like @mikepm74 is willing to put his own HIVE up to support this HIVE blog effort and he has only one GUZBUCKING entry. So, I ask again; what is the number $500 or $1,000 ? more?

Is that why FIRED lost so many people? Do me a favor, when you get done reading this Dash open this link , go read the “suggest guidelines “ and then submit an entry before midnight eastern time on Saturday the 28th of March. Let’s show Mike some appreciation and support as he tries to help this chain grow.

A short story folks; it really isn’t that difficult in my opinion.

Next item please...

Next item please… oh yea, can anyone here tell me if the folks that developed steemworld have released one for use on HIVE? That was a favorite tool that I liked to keep track of things on. I’ve haven’t been able to locate it yet.

Poker game time, BRB.

Man, … I got my ass kicked that game, NH @geekgirl , I didn’t even make it to the final table.

So, I lost …

So, I lost my train of thought… Oh yes, back to poker for a second. How many of you belong to some discord channels or groups? Raise those hands just a little higher, please. Okay … the poker tables are much like discord in that there is a chat window you can “chit-chat” with people as you play.

Also this isn’t a “normal” free poker site because there aren’t a bunch of assholes playing in there. They all believe in crypto and HIVE so they want to win as much as they can every time the cards are dealt. There is a good chance the folks you are chatting with in discord are the same folks you could be chatting with at
brosinopoker.com.

On the home…

On the home front things are going as well as can be expected. The other day just hours before the stay at home order went into affect I sent the Daisy, Blondie and Shortie to the feed store to buy some baby ducklings. With all the girls social events being cancelled and this stay at home order I figured it would be a good for them since they are going to have plenty of bonding time in the near future.

The girls came back with four of the cutest little ducklings and if you think I’m good at naming people or things wait until you see these names. We now have in our little flock James Pond, Aflac, Chicken and Ducklings Waddlesworth. So for the next two weeks those ducklings will spend their time in a good size plastic tote while they acclimated to the girls and get a little size on them. In the mean time we have to build them a duck cage outside so I have that to look forward to doing.

The problem with ducks is they are so damn messy. If you’ve never had ‘em don’t get them and if you don't take my advice and get em’ anyway make your cage portable. Trust me when I say that; I’ve had ducks before. Messy, messy, messy… but very tasty with garlic & butter sauce.

I think that is enough cleaning for today. Stay safe , keep your distance and HIVE on!

Until next time,
Sult

So. I shared some day of the week wisdom with our newly retired friend @tattoojay: It doesn't matter what day it is, so long as you don't forget garbage day. Fortunately I generate so little garbage that a week delay on getting it out doesn't matter. Cept for the smell that a warm climate can foster.

Dups. I had a step daughter that called 'em dups. We didn't have any at the house but would go down to the river and feed them once in a while. Buy a loaf of way past day old bread at the bakery and we could have a great afternoon. Generally at the back steps of the Opera House in Spokane, WA. They had a grand staircase that went right down to the river. It was a terrific place to watch the world go by.

I have a good friend from Australia (@russelstockley) that is a slightly reformed Ducati rider. Anyway, he and his partner and her daughter got three chickens for their backyard. The women made very clever names and Russell called his 'RD' (think Aussie accent). Roast Dinner. Says he was just damn tasty.

I haven't played a hand of poker in at least two years. It's kinda like riding a bike, right? Though the last time I was on a bicycle I had a heck of a time getting started. The silence of no motor distracted me, I think. If there hadn't been a pretty girl involved I'd have given up for sure.

You ever notice that the age of girl is rising? For me, it's anybody under about 65. Just sayin'

So. I'm thinking that whatever day this might be it is otherwise vacuum and general floor cleaning day. Sam sheds something fierce (his only real known defect) and I have little bits of insulation and ceiling tile everyplace from a brutal rain and even more brutal roof leaks. I wanted to wait to ultimately clean the floor until that crap had dried out. It's way easier to pick up that way.

Bread will be ready in about hour and a half. I better get going if I want to eat right out of the pan. And I do.

Oh sweet Jesus, the last thing I need to be confused on is garbage day. With six of us in the house we a industrial sized producer of garbage disguising ourselves as just a household.

Young children and learning new words are precious, love that pronunciation , Dups. Our oldest boy when he was young would get VCR and CPR confuse pretty regularly. I'll never forget the first time he came in my small office and said, "quick Mom needs CPR right now!" Damn near gave me a heart attack.

I didn't realized that @tattoojay had retired, I remember him saying last year he was fixin' too but didn't realized he pulled the trigger on that.

Poker is easier than remembering how to ride a bicycle for sure, because the computer will let you know how your hand is "shaping up" as the cards are revealed. Plus there is no risk of injury from falling as with a bicycle.

I should probably clarify the last statement. You could fall off your chair if you happen to get a Royal Straight Flush or something, but chances are rare of that happening. I think I have only gotten one of those in my whole online playing existence.

There are some ladies playing over there as well , and playing damn well I might add. So the conversations in chat are very respectful... for the most part. Come give it a try.

Sorry to hear about the roof, if we lived closer I'd sent my oldest boy over to give you a hand with fixin' it. He works part time for a local roofing company here when he isn't at the hardware store.

By now you prolly demolished that bread, hope it was as good as you expected it be.
Thanks for the continued support,
Sult

PS: My upvote on your comment is the first one I have had were someone actually got something... it is only 1 cents worth of HIVE... but its a start.

Nice to meet you.
I am from Myanmar.
I followed you. And you?

Let me give you some advise partner. The kind of comment you left is what most people consider "spam".
It would be in your best interest to actually read the post you want to comment on and then say something nice about the post to author or a question about what you read.
You will keep yourself in good standing and people will see you are generally trying to be a good person on here.
Other wise you will be disliked and get frustrated and just leave.
So nice to meet you as well, and that baby is 40 days old? Really cute at that age aren't they?
Until next time,
Sult

Hey glad I read your post, I like @mikepm74 and just might have a short story in me. Will head on over there next. I have some bad news RE steemworld, the developer has sided with Justin Sun and against the Hive fork so I wouldn't hold your breath on that making the transition. May the poker cards fall in your favor - cheers

First and foremost let me thank you Carl for taking the time to read and comment, it is very much appreciated.

I kind of thought that might be the case with steemworld since I couldn't find it and so many other apps were available in a very short period of time.

Have you ever played online poker before? It is really a lot a fun, after you finish your story for @mikepm74 's contest please consider at least signing up and playing a few games. It really is a good way to pass the time while this COVID19 has damn near the whole world in disruption.
Thanks again, great to see you.
Sult

Howdy sir sultnpapper! Sounds like you got all kinds of fun stuff to do while this shelter-in-place order is on!
