textarting

in #hive4 years ago (edited)

so i was admiring @thilah's latest post and if you haven't seen it, i reblogged it just above this post but here it is anyway for your enjoyment: https://hive.blog/hive-174578/@thilah/recommendations-to-watch-play-at-home-fanart-s

anyway so i was * ___ * at it and then i got to the bottom bit where there are drawing websites linked so of course i had to jump straight at it like a spider with itchy fingers, which is me, i am a spider with itchy fingers

XD

the drawing program is really cute, it makes you draw using a string of text (which you can input into the setting) but i just went with what was already there and i drew this girl :>

she's probably trying to be hopeful in today's world, but the wind is strong and it's hard sometimes to feel on top of things, so i hope you are all looking out for each other and remember, we've been through a lot of stuff and we'll get through this time too, for sure : )

as for #hive, how are you all enjoying our new home? seems like there are unsettled matters rumbling in various places but i hope smarter heads will prevail than not!

Also, here, you get the video on the making of the picture! :D

Come share what you find at #hive with me~

One thing I wanna see people to start do is to start looking at others' posts and sharing the good ones in their posts :D But I don't want one of those compilation stuff that basically generates new post without original contents from the authors themselves either, so I think a section within a post that already put out original contents is best?

Anyway, here's a great post from @znkd ! He animated a whole fighty sequence and I love the POW!!!!!! moment in this very much! Check it outttttt: https://hive.blog/art/@znkd/alohive-here-s-an-animaion-i-worked-on

If you EVER attempted to make an animated sequence in your life, you'd know this has taken A LOT OF HOURS... so, give @znkd some appreciation, won't you~ :>

okay, that's it from me for now o/ !!!

PS. as usual, dont forget to talk about #hive in your social media places :> it's one small way we all can help to keep the hype alive <3

see you all next time~

What a cool thing and way to draw with the lines of script. I love it.

Yes, I'm loving #hive so far @veryspider in that I feel like the 'old crew' are here and I'm hoping the 'old steemit digital village' feel will return here. I missed that and I think we REALLY need that now more than ever.

Donna! <3 Lovely to see you here and yes, at this present time in the world and on the internet, I think a sense of village and community would do a lot of us a lot of good :> You're absolutely right, I agree 100%!!! \o/

Hello @veryspider! Glad to see you posting and appreciate this online tools for drawing , going for a quick test on this one it sounds interesting, thanks for sharing!

hey, you! <3 nice to see you here !!! and yesh, try the various websites, they are really fun :D

The spider friendo! Alohive yo. We read each other again... on a new blockchain. Hope we could see ourselves in a new better world soon. Thanks for the mentions, since I'm using peakd frontend now, I wont miss them anymore ;) hugx dude

the amazeen ZEEN * ___ * Hello again ! It's nice to see zeen, any time for zeen is very cool and amazeeeeeeeeen~

<3 hope you're doing well~

today is such a nice day here, but im stuck at work, as usual aaaaaaah

at least now is lunch time, omnomnom~

Lol the hungriest and hardest-worker of the spiders. Bon appétit!

Pfft that drawing with text thing turned out way better than it had any right to, maybe you're just magical and can make whatever look good XD

We just came out of a massive upheaval (which is among at least one other massive upheaval and who knows what else is going on in anyone else's lives at any given time) so I guess emotions are running so high they're just spilling over. Hopefully things will settle down soon (there's that word again ;D). Guess now's one of those times where people definitely need to be helping/building each other up rather than tearing down :)

awwwuh no, fyn is too nice XD thank youuuuuuuuuu

and yeah, you nailed it, i think people just need to keep reminding ourselves to work together towards a common win instead of trying to trip each other up for small personal gains... well, it's only second week of #hive so it's not surprising teething issues would crop up, too :>

Spidey's text art is so pretty!!!

admires spidey's post

THILAH'S TEXT ART IS PRETTIER AND THILAH'S POST IS AMAZINGGGGGGGG

Thanks for sharing all the different tools you've been finding, Spider. From a distance, this text as a brush kind of looks like a fuzzy, soft pencil or a like a text-y version of charcoal. It's great to know there are so many digital alternatives to create art, with physical supplies being harder to acquire right now.

And thank you for the advice on how to curate better. I feel like I'm spamming my followers or rudely shoving content in people's face if I reblog all the time. Using your tips I'll consider more ways to (tastefully) insert a curation section in my posts. Earlier this month Midlet suggested I help grow OCA by engaging, curating and onboarding people, but I feel like that's still an area in which I need improvement.

yep yep, it's been a challenge to 'explore' indoors but there ARE experimentative and fun things to discover on the net :D

and aaah, it's just a personal opinion, i think a lot of people DO very nice curation posts... compiling them with great care and maybe even inserting their own introductions of each curated links, but i personally dislike creating posts that do not have its own original contents because it seems to focus too much on creating opportunity to get upvotes instead of contributing to the blogosphere with a voice? it's just my thing though. i dont really judge / control what others are doing :>

midlet's a good guy and very passionate about bloggy/blockchain! OCA is a great place and yep, I agree that we all can do a bit better in engagement, curation and onboarding :D :D :D

I understand where you're coming from on individuals' curation posts, and I also appreciate groups, like OCD, whose mission is to help grow the community by making curation posts. They always share content that is valuable, imo. For people who can't spend as much time on hive as they would like, group-curated posts give folks a simple way to vote more and on higher quality content. That being said, I also like your curation section suggestion. Adding it to my collection of suggestions from steemians hive peeps.

Thank you for sharing znkd's post. You're a class act Spider! You 3 are great and OCA feels like legit internet home. Happy Thursday, or probably Friday, in your realm. 🙏👋

Very excellent! Nice touch using the different size fonts. No erasing necessary.
Or would that be backspacing... lol

...oh, i didnt even think about the erase function, and now i wonder also if it's just erase or backspace lol XD

i dont usually use eraser when im sketching but i'll find out for next time for sure !!! <3

Hey that is a cool idea! Would be really neat to combine media with this idea, making a long form poem or short story or something and then using those words in the drawing.

give it a go, carl! you're always really creative with these things <3 !
