ok, well the Missus is going to town today and will probably pick one up, I'm kind of debating it but if something else breaks I might be able to fix it myself if I have the book. Now I'm leary of these shops.
Yeah that's a main goal for us too, I hate debt. once this pan is replaced the Compass will look like new if we replace the cracked windshield because the body and interior are in perfect condition.
Sounds smart, especially no new debt! Repairing and selling material to prepare better is wise. Get a bicycle with a motor for SHTF transport. The small truck is a good idea, especially if you set it up for alternate fuel.
Wood smoke generator, browne gas, or alcohol are some good options.
Well she went to the parts store today, they didn't have the repair manual so she ordered one because they also tried to look up the torque numbers and couldn't find them.

I worked all day on fuel injection wiring. I would not trust that to any shop!
Get the book, it will save you a fortune.
:)>Well I'll have it in a few days but I hope not to have to repair much on it because I want to trade it for a small pickup.
You are headed the right direction, fix it it will be worth more. I am not taking on any new debt....

:)>Alternate fuel? I never thought of that. what is brown gas?

Glad that manual is coming! Keep it in the car. I have needed one on the roadside before myself....
THEY couldn't find the torque specifications? WOW!
:)>I was surprised. Well they better be in the book. lol. Yeah I'll keep it in the car.
The book also points out specific trouble spots to avoid, and saves time!
:)>Oh that sounds good!
Especially the avoid, LOL!
