Judgement On Students By School. A world where fish are no longer forced to climb trees.

in #inspiration7 years ago

Albert einstein once said every one is genius.
But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will think it's whole life believing it's stupid

Now days we have modern day schooling not only does it make fish climb trees but also make them climb down and also make ten miles run. Are these the things that school should proud of? Turning millions people into robot. Do you find that fun? Do you realize that how many kids is related to that fish, swimming upstream in class never finding their gifts thinking they are stupid believing they are useless? Well the time has come no more excuses, school should be accused of killing creativity, individuality, being intellectually abusive.

And here are some of the evidence :

Look at this smart mobile phone,

And look at this phone we used 150 years ago,

Here is the modern day car,

Here is the car that we used 150 years ago,

Here is the modern day class,

Now ain't that a shame, in literally more than century
nothing has changed.

Yet the school claim to prepare student for future or past ? There is a background check on it and let the record show that it were made to train people at factories,
which explain why it put students at straight rows nice and neat,
tell them sit still and raise your hand when you need to speak,
Give them short break to eat and for 8 hours a day tell them what to think,
Oh and make them compete to get an A , a letter which determine the quality prouct,
hence grade A of meat.

I get it, back then the times were different. We all have a past I myself is no Ghandi,
But today we don't need to make robot zombies,

The world has progressed and now we need people who think creatively, innovatively, critically, independently with the ability to connect.

See every scientists will tell you no two brains are the same,
And every parents with two or more children will confirm that claim.

So please explain why you treat students like cookie cutter frames or snapback hats,
Giving them all one size fits all crap.

But if doctor prescribed the exact same medicine to all of his patients,
The result would be tragic so many people will get sick yet.
When it comes to school this is exactly what happen this Educational Malpractice.

Where one teacher stands in front of twenty kids,
Each one having differents strenghts, different needs, different gifts and different dreams,
And you teach the same thing the same way, that's horrific.

And let's mention the way it treat its employees, it's a shame,
I mean a teacher have the most important job on the planter yet,
They are under paid ??
No wonders so many students are short changed.

Let's be honest the teacher should earn just as much as doctors,
Because a doctor can do heart surgery and save the life of a kid,
But a great teacher can reach the heart of that kid and allow him to truly live.

See teacher are Heroes but often get blamed,
But they are not there problems,
They work in a system without many options or rights, Curriculums are created by policy makers,
Most of which have never taught a day in their life.

Just obsessed with standardised tests,
They think bubbling in multichoice question will determine their success.
That's outlandish.

In fact these taste are too crude to be used and should be abandoned but don't take my words for it.
Take Frederick J Kelly, the man who invented standardised testing who said and I quote,

"These taste are too crude to be used"

If we continue down this road the results will be lethal,
I don't have faith in school but I do have faith in people.
And if we can customise health club, cars and Facebook pages,
Then it is our duty to do the same for education to upgrade it change it.

Do away with school spirit, because that useless. Unless we are working to bring the spirit out of each and every students and that should be our task.
No more common core,
Instead let's reach the core of every heart, in every class.

Suure math is important but no more than art or dance,
let's give every gifts an equal chance.

I know this sound like a dream,
But countries like Finland are doing impressive things.
They have shorter school days,
Teachers make a decent wage,
Homework is non-existent,
They focus on collaboration instead of competition.

But here is the kicks, their educational system out performs every other country in the world, Other places like Singapore are succeeding rapidly.School like Montessori, Programs like khan academy, there is no single solution

But let's gets moving because while students may be 20% of our population, they are 100% of our future. So let's attend to their dreams and there's no telling what we can achieve.
This I the world which I believe, A world where fish are no longer forced to climb trees.

You know, I got straights A's in music an art related classes but it wasn't enough to get me into a music college because of other core subject grades. I graduated a year early, at 17, and could have done another year to get my other grades up but I decided that I want to be a singer-songwriter, so what do I have to prove and to whom? I left the education system behind and the week I turned 18 I travelled 5000 miles from America to the UK to pursue my goal of having a career in music. Now I am 19, there is a long way to go, but so far so good and it was the best decision I have made. It was actually very hard to make such a move when nearly everyone around me suggested it was not such a wise choice but sometimes we have to follow our heart and invest time into ourselves and not into a system that doesn't seem to consider the individual enough.

Nice article btw way!
