Good day Hive! It's me douceink. I lived in the Philippines and a pure Filipino by heart and by blood, I was born and raised in Bohol, and moved out in Cebu during my first year in high school. I turned 17 last August 11.
I am the eldest among my three siblings and I wanted to share a peek of my introduction here on Hive. I am describing myself as someone who's a very soft, shy and passionate person especially to the things I love to do. I do have different personalities depending on someone I am with. For others, I am an introvert, and for others I am an extrovert type of person.
People do really have different perspectives about myself.
LET US DIG DEEPER ABOUT MYSELF!
I always describe life as a game, it has lots of triumphs and losses. My parents had really these high expectations from me since I am the eldest, which leads me to be afraid about my decisions and having doubts of the path I take because it might affect the expectations they build in their minds.
Both of my parents are working and are away from us so I am the one who took care of my siblings, it was really hard since I am still young and my siblings are too hard to handle, so I had to save the smallest string of patience I have in order to widen my understanding.
In addition to that, my youngest sibling is still at the age of six, so it's hard to take care of him especially in times when he gets sick. Sometimes, I feel like the heavy loads in my shoulders are too much and ended up having anxieties and mental breakdowns.
As a senior high student, it was really challenging and hard since I am currently in my last year of my senior year and it's not easy to manage my time taking care of my siblings and being a student at the same time.
Amidst the different struggles and obligations I am facing, I am using it as my motivation and inspiration to overcome those challenges. Because that's how life works, yes it's unfair—but it is a matter of survival.
As I said, life is a game. It may be so hard, it may be so exhausting, challenging and mentally breaking but at the end of the day everything will be worth it, one day I will be proud of myself because I overcome all those challenges.
Those challenges I've mentioned above gives me a strong will to continue and still stand amidst the different circumstances that are trying to put me down.
At a young age, I am forced to think maturely but I am really so childish in people I am comfortable with, those people healed my inner child and I am really more than thankful for having them.
I believe those things had a really big contribution about my personality, as I've mentioned above—I am really a soft and shy person.
I have not been exposed to many people since my childhood because my parents were really that strict, affecting the way I socialize with people. So basically, my personality depends on the people I am interacting with.
THE THINGS I LOVE TO DO AND MY HOBBIES
The things I love have really contributed the biggest part of my journey in life. Some of them are writing, reading, listening to music ( specifically Taylor Swift's music ), sunset, sea and... cats.
These serve as my comfort zone when life gets tough and becomes so exhausting.
I love writing so much! Be it a poem or a story but most of them were really tragic, I don't know why but I am fond of writing tragic poems and stories, I am having a hard time composing a poem and a story about happy endings, but these past few months, I am trying to compose one and I did! I am beyond proud of myself exploring genres that are out of my comfort zone.
Writing has also become my companion in life, through writing I can express my emotions that are not allowed to be said. I also have a lot of journals featuring different kinds of emotions, my journals witnessed the different circumstances I am facing in life. I am not really into telling people about my problems, I rarely open up to someone and if I did, it was only a slight portion of the whole story I am only letting them see and it was so hard, it was so hard to keep it all by yourself, but thanks to writing I can rant whatever I want to rant without having the fear of being misunderstood.
Aside from writing, I also love reading. It is one of my comfort zones when life's been emotionally abusing, I love to read mystery novels as it introduced me to the other world, the thrill it gives is just sooo exciting and mind blowing!! I am also fond of reading sci-fi stories although I don't like science that much, but what I love about it is the plot. It also helps my reading comprehension widen and flourish my writing skills.
Listening to music is one of my escapes, I can write and read while listening to music, it also helps me think peacefully affecting my creative juices in writing to flourished. One of my favorite artists in the music industry is Taylor Swift, I am a big fan! One of my favorite song of her is the “ Your on your own, kid ” from the album Midnights. The lyrics “Every step you lose, is a step you take” from the song petrified my attention, and also become my motto in life.
The scenery of the sea really made me feel at ease, especially when the salt air flickered my nostrils, and when I could hear the splashes of the waves which brought another level of comfort.
Imagine sitting in the white sand, listening to the roaring splashes of the waves and just admiring the beautiful scenery? It would be so therapeutic. One day, I would love to build a house near the sea, I would love to wake up in the morning hearing the waves and feeling the breeze of the sea while watching the sunrise on the horizon and witnessing the sunset at the end of the day.
And speaking of sunsets!! I love sunsets!! This is my most awaited part of the day!! I would do anything to take a picture whenever sunset showed up, whenever I am having a bad day, I always remind myself that it's okay, I still have the sunset to look forward to everyday. I would love to take a picture of sunsets every place I go, that's one of my biggest dream!
And, my catsss!!! I love cats!!I am a mother of three cats, their names are Summer, Spring and Autumn. Just by purring and laying at me, I am already so happy! They're like a family to me. I can also sense that they love me because whenever I feel sad, they would come up to me and accompany me, it's so heart melting.
I also play chess and it is one of my hobbies, it may be stressful sometimes but it can also be a stress reliever. I discovered chess because of a friend which teaches me how to play and I'm thankful because I learned!
Lastly, I love sleeping! Whenever I'm not feeling okay, or I'm sad, I let the softness of the blanket and pillows hugs me and get a sleep, it's my way of resting emotionally, physically and mentally.
Those are only some of the things I love to do, actually I have so many things to do! and I'm excited to share to you some of them in the future.
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM MY BLOG/ WHO INTRODUCE HIVE AND WHAT CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO HIVE?
I've been so passionate about writing so you can expect that my blog will be random since I love exploring things, and it probably be about my journey in life, it can be about travel, about life, or about pets, and so on. I am very excited to contribute my blogs to you in the future! To be honest, I don't really know how this would work, the thing is I'm just gonna enjoy my journey here in Hive and hopefully, find new friends. Our teacher, @callmesmile introduced me to hive and I was more than thankful for that, she encourage us to try blogging.
Since I love writing; the question, “ Why not try? ” lingered my mind and here I am! Starting my journey as a newbie here in Hive. Also, @indayclara and @ybañezkyle26 oriented us about Hive for better understanding, I learned a lot of things and it is really convenient for me and advantageous. It's a big help for students like me, especially that I'm a graduating student, It's also a big opportunity for me to excel and to develop my writing skills.

Omg same, I also rarely share to other people about my problems and when I do, it’s only the tip of the iceberg.
I think it’s okay for you to be childish at times, you’re still young so it’s okay to act that way. Don’t grow up fast 😅 But oh well, it’s also hard being the eldest you have to adjust and be the “respectable” and “responsible” person next to your parents. Anyhow, I think you’re doing a great job.
