Well the Spanish summer is back after a week of storms, and the beach is jam-packed full of lobster coloured people again. However, I'm currently at 'work', although most of the time it doesn't feel that way.

From the outside seats at the bar, which a currently free along with every other seat in the place, I can see the ocean. And the above photo is taken from the bottom of this road.
Close but no salty water
It's a beautiful afternoon, and the boss has called me in so that she can have a few hours at the beach. The bar is closed on Wednesdays, but it shat it down for much of the day yesterday and so I think she deserves some time off in the sun. 6 days a week, and up to 16 hours a day for her. That's a long shift, and not for me at all, but as it's her first season, she's putting the time in to get a feel for the place.
At present, the harsh reality is that the place isn't busy enough to hire staff for long shifts, even at my lowly pay grade. I currently have two customers, my mothers partner and a friend from the other bar nearby. Neither would be here if I wasn't, and the bar would be empty.
The saving grace for The Cwtch, is that it will remain open for the winter. Pretty much all the hotels are shut, and the same is true for many of the bars. For the locals and the ex-pats, the watering-holes are reduced, and business could pick up here.
If so, and if crypto doesn't start to rise, there is a good chance I'll want some of these shifts. That's if I haven't gotten bored of Cala Millor and bar work. It's very quiet here out of season, but the bar could entertain me enough, along with daily Steem time of course.

And one more piece of good news, @fulltimegeek is going to be a witness! I hope and suspect he will be a popular choice. One of the most selfless people on Steem, and he's also a coder, which is appreciated amongst the witness ranks. He will certainly have my vote when his setup is ready.
I suppose I should find something work related to do. There are some glasses that could do with a polish, let's hope I get fill them with beer very soon.

I lived in Gower (Wales) for a year next to a beach and much preferred it out of season sans tourists.
Sounds like OK 'work' to me. It'd probably even be OK if you actually got some real customers.

Not really, it's a ghost town and can be windy and rainy. With the job though I'll have a bit more entertainment.
I guess that if crypto moves up, I'll be looking for a new blogging location, and if it collapses, a job in IT. Right now though I'll be staying here.
We've had a few customers, hopefully I'll be getting paid today!

Not sure if it's the good weather, it hasn't exactly been busy in the evenings either. Hopefully that will change!

The bar looks in a great spot and surprises me it isn't busier. It looks like the perfect place to get sozzled on a sunny afternoon by the sea. maybe you need to start doing some shows with the cocktails to draw the crowds.

My cocktail skills are 0, folks would be dodging glasses if I attempted anything other than the classic, pour safely into glass 😊
Work is good no matter what and if you can get time in between to be on Steem remotely that is a good deal. I am glad that @curie came through but it is truly part if what you bring to the ecosystem that adds value so not surprised. Lots of exciting things continue to happen here and it feels as if we are building a solid base to develop and grow upon that will be remembered as the time STEEM got its momentum back. I continue to do absolutely everything I can to accumulate as much Steem Power as possible as it probably will never get easier than this moment!
It is great news! And I agree that it seems we are bouncing along support ready for some price action in the coming months. I expect others are following your idea of making the most of right now. Fingers crossed the good time will come soon.

Okay, so let me get this straight. You posted this about an hour ago, around 7:30 AM my time, which means it was around 4:30 PM your time. You've got two customers, but being the drinking and bar novice that I am, I'm thinking, that's still a little early for a bar to be hopping. Or since it's a tourist place, does that mean the beer should be flowing from morning until the next morning in one eternal round? :)
Since the name of the place isn't that catchy, it sounds like to me the boss needs to come up with something to draw people in. I don't know if you host live bands or serve food or have some kind of game night or something you all do, but it needs to become the place to hangout.

At least you're not just doing the stereotypical activities of a barkeep: wiping down the bar, and cleaning out the glasses. It's cool you have the freedom to just walk around and still sort of enjoy the sunshine.

I suppose if the bar where you work can position itself as a watering hole for local expats, it will be more reliable than the fickleness of tourists. We live in a tourist town. There are places here supported by locals in the off season... and then tourists the rest of the time when locals won't come within a mile of the waterfront.
