Yesterday I got a mailer from Fry's, first one I have ever got. It was a bunch of free coupons, and it was for all the stuff I buy, and then a bunch of buy 1 get one free, on all the stuff I buy. It was like I had hit the grocery lottery. Then I started thinking, there is no way everything that I buy is free and on sale. Pop tarts are my go to, and then there were the pickles too, and nasal spray that we had bought a bunch of when I had my nose surgery. It was like they knew me, and my habits. That is when I realized that they are tracking my grocery card, and this is very specific target marketing. Kinda crazy, that they have and keep all this data on you. Imagine what Facebook has on all its people, or even Steemit. Right too close to home.
They know absolutely everything you buy. Big brother is always watching and planning his next marketing scheme. Eyes are on you!!

Isn't Fry's an electronics store?
Either way, that's why they do it, so they can send you coupons that will keep you coming back to the store and maximize revenue.
Ya, It is also a grocery store here. Where are you at?
maybe they store your information
Yep, 100%, big data my friend... they are all at it.. Everything you do on line and with your bank card is saved, tracked and mined... New legislation passed in Europe called GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is looking to counter some of this data mining... I believe the US is now looking to roll out something similar.. Here is some info on GDPR in case you're interested
If you take a large corporation's work in the form of music or movies and re-post it, earning ad revenue without rightfully paying the content creator, this is a crime and you can be prosecuted.
What is so different about a large corporation taking your work in the form of your conversations, articles, and behaviour compared to your personal demographic data, and monetising this, earning ad revenue without paying you, the data creator?
