Most likely a sick, dehydrated malnourished and stressed pangolin brought into contact with a similarly sick bat caught the bat virus and the two corona viruses traded genetic material to form the whopper we now have to deal with.

This is unfortunately just the first wave, pandemics can come in waves and other nasties follow in their wake. One doesn't need to be an economist to see the specter of economic ruin, poverty and famine likely to follow this in many places.

Indeed and in some cases it had already begun
