When a company cuts employees on a large scale, of course, employees who experience the incident will be shocked. Thereafter if you are unemployed, is your life going to end? Of course not! Just for you to know, I have experienced this incident lately. I have to resign for reasons that didn't make sense. Butthurt? Angry? Upset? Certainly! Who doesn't get upset when the incident came so sudden. This event then opened my mind that the real work environment is not as good as I thought. There are too much politics involved in the business world, which make us unable to determine which friend is the true friend, or they only looking for an opportunity to backstab you. Afterward, I did not want to succumb with sadness, and I must immediately move on and look for a new "house" that has to be better than the previous one. With this kind of event, of course, you will know more about the ins and outs of the business world and yourself. If you experience the same problem as I, don't give up and do this:

Calm Down
If you favor the five stages of grief theory, then you are in the denial and anger period at this moment. The first thing you have to do is to calm yourself, if you want to cry, then cry if it can relieve your pain. Afterward, you can go on a short vacation for a moment to the beach, park, or to the mall, to eliminate the bad mood and memories. You can also do these activities while introspecting about your bad attitude or behavior, so that later when you are in a new job, you will become a better person and of course can go along well with your boss and colleagues.
Move On
I'm not a fan of five stages of grief because you can jump into acceptance without depression and bargaining. Therefore, after you calm your mind and do some introspection, it would be best if you immediately move on so that you don't drift into the past. Getting fired from work is genuinely demotivating, but it hurts more if we cannot rise from our failure. Bear in mind that there are still many exciting and better opportunities waiting for us. There is still a lot of hope for success even though we first have to go through storms. Hence, we must immediately move on and earn money from a better place. If you still thinking about your past, you should realize that it will become an obstacle later in the future. There is a quote "fall forward" so that even if you fall, you always move forward.
Move Forward: Immediately Looking for A New Source of Income
Shortly after being jobless, we will no longer have the income even though we still have to spend money on our daily expenses for living. Of course, this will gradually eat up our savings. Hence, we must move to find a new source of income and should look at the bright side of this situation. This story could be the way God leads you to a brand new career path to become an entrepreneur. However, this is not an easy challenge although many people have succeeded in starting small businesses. If you are interested in starting your own business, you can sell your expertise or hobby for starters.
We might be able to look from J.K. Rowling's --the writer of the famous Harry Potter-- experience. She was fired from his job as a secretary, divorced, and had to raise children as a poor single parent. Only one step away, she could become homeless. Her suffering was not finished up to this point. The synopsis of the Harry Potter novel was rejected everywhere. It was only two years later that the book could be published in England. Therefore, if J.K. Rowling were not fired, there would be no Harry Potter in this world.
Losing a job is indeed something we don't want, but God can change one's fortune extraordinarily this way. With this experience, you will be forced to get out of your comfort zone to develop to be a better person. Remember that there will be a rainbow after the rain, so there will definitely be beautiful things that you will get after you go through this challenging phase. Make this experience as a whip to achieve your success.
