Can Steemit and Other Decentralised Content Platforms Gain Users As They Stampede From YouTube?

in #life7 years ago

As YouTube and other social media platforms become more restrictive for content creators, users are looking for alternatives to share and monetize their content.

Just recently, the popular YouTube channel Cody's Lab was closed down and many others are seeing their content demonetized or cancelled by these platforms. Usually because the content has been deemed to be not advertiser friendly.

To add to this, many content consumers are now switching to browsers that block ads by default such as Brave, or are using adblock software to speed up and clean up their browsing experience.

This paints a pretty gloomy picture for anyone expecting the likes of YouTube to be hosting any content that is not mainstream in the near future.

With this growing discontent with the current favored platforms, this is a great time for the likes of steemit, dtube and other decentralized platforms which reward content to creators, to soak up the slack.

It’s time to start telling people about these other platforms. It’s time to start telling your friends, using the tech in earnest and sharing new great content on them and soon I hope YouTube will be forced to change their policies… but I fear it might already be too late for them.

Upvoted. This piece You wrote and share, @magickal, presents wisdom from Your Mind and heart. Write more please, I shall visit Your page and read daily as I often do to those in my Follow list. I have been participating in most popular platforms we know. I find that Steemit jive with me. My point of sharing with Steemit.com are these: Wanting to fail as a platform as similar to the others is easy, "Advertising - The New Potentate" To succeed, "Be the best not like the rest." The difference between earning BIG oneshot or earn more from the little of a collective sharing from the Steemit Community.

I'm not sure I follow what you are saying here. Although I also find that Steemit jive with me! lol

Yes @magickal jiving with me too... LOL.
