I think you also just discovered the true difference between public health services and private ones. No one says 'come back next week' in private hospitals here. They say 'get your wallet out and jump in that very expensive CT scanner' You'd have to then make a decision based on the balance between the pain of the broken rib and the pain of losing half your life savings!
Some where down the line, there has to be a compromise.
I see the difference with my mate. He has private health care through his work (partner in a law firm so they pay for everything) He can go with a sneeze and gets the works whereas I get fucking Dr Scribble and the mad giggle who literally looks at me as if I am the Doctor!
