मन का माधुर्य : सेवा धर्म (भाग #१) | The melody of mind: service religion (Part # 1)

संसार के दीन दु:खी, रोगी, अपाहिज, निर्धन और विवश प्राणियों को सेवा करना बड़े पुण्य का कार्य है । वह सच्चे अर्थों में एक महाव्रत है, जिसका पालन बहुत ही कम व्यक्ति ही कर पाते हैं । बड़े-बड़े साधु-सन्त भी इस सेवा-व्रत को पूर्ण रूप से नहीं निभा पाते । इसलिए कहा गया है –

सेवा धर्मो परम गहनो योगिनामप्यगम्य: ।

सेवा धर्म परम गहन है । योगियों के लिए भी यह अगम्य है ।

पुण्य कर्म करने की कामना जिन लोगों के ह्रदय में हो, उन्हें सबसे पहले समाज के दीन-दु:खी लोगों की यथाशक्ति सेवा करने का व्रत लेना चाहिए । गरीब और दु:खी लोगों में परमात्मा का निवास होता है, ऐसा कहा जाता है । उनकी सेवा करने से प्रभु प्रसन्न होते हैं । यदि कोई व्यक्ति घंटो मंदिर या किसी भी अन्य स्थान पर जाकर धर्म ध्यान करता है, किन्तु अपने द्वार पर आये किसी दीन प्राणी को दुत्कार देता है, तो उसके धर्म ध्यान का कोई भी लाभ नहीं । ईसा मसीह कहा करते थे कि एक ऊंट सुई के छिद्र में से सम्भव है निकल भी जाए, किन्तु कोई धनिक व्यक्ति स्वर्ग में प्रवेश नहीं पा सकता, यदि वह सेवा धर्म का पालन नहीं करता है । उनके इस कथन का यही आशय था कि दीन हिन प्राणियों में ही प्रभु का वास है, उनकी सेवा मनुष्य को अवश्य करनी चाहिए ।

बाबु यतीन्द्रनाथ बड़े उच्च कोटि के महापुरुष थे । असहाय व्यक्तियों को देखकर उनका ह्रदय पीड़ा से कराह उठता था । एक दिन वह कलकत्ता नगरी के किसी मार्ग पर से गुजर रहे थे । ग्रीष्म ऋतु थी । सूर्य के प्रचण्ड ताप से सारी सृष्टि त्राहि-त्राहि कर रही थी ।

उस समय एक निर्धन, असहाय बुढ़िया एक भारी बोझा अपने सिर पर उठाए कही जा रही थी । बुढ़िया थी, भारी बोझ था, और गर्मी इतनी प्रबल थी कि प्राण निकल जाएं । बेचारी बुढ़िया थक-हारकर सड़क किनारे बैठ गई । आगे जाना उसके लिए सम्भव नहीं था ।

अनेक व्यक्ति उस मार्ग से आते-जाते रहे । सब अपनी-अपनी धुन में । सबको अपनी-अपनी ही चिन्ता । बेचारी बुढ़िया की ओर कौन ध्यान दे ? बुढ़िया हताश नेत्रों से प्रत्येक राहगीर को देखती रही ।

यतीन्द्रनाथ जब उधर से निकले तो उन्होंने उस बुढ़िया को वहां बैठा देखा । उनका ह्रदय द्रवित हो उठा । इस भयानक गर्मी में बोझा उठाकर दूर चलने से महाकष्ट का तनिक भी विचार या चिन्ता किए बिना उन्होंने बुढ़िया से कहा – “लाओ माँ ! तुम्हारा बोझा मैं उठाकर लिए चलता हूं । तुम आगे-आगे चलकर मझे मार्ग बताओ ।”

बुढ़िया ने यतीन्द्रनाथ को बहुत आशीर्वाद दिए । यतीन्द्रनाथ ने बुढ़िया को घर पहुंचाया और उसकी दीन-हिन दशा देखकर उसे पांच रूपये भी दिए ।

यतीन्द्रनाथ ने चाहे साधुओं का वेश धारण न किया हो, किन्तु वे सच्चे साधु थे और परम सेवाव्रती थे, इस विषय में किसी संदेह के लिए अवकाश नहीं है । हमारे समाज में, हमारे देश में, जब तक यतीन्द्रनाथ जैसे व्यक्ति उत्पन्न होते रहेंगे तब तक समाज और देश को मार्ग दिखाने के लिए प्रकाश प्राप्त होता रहेगा ।

आजीवन सेवा का व्रत लेकर उसे प्रत्येक मूल्य पर तथा प्रत्येक परिस्थिति में निर्वाह करने का एक सुंदर उदाहरण श्री रामप्रसाद प्रेम बक्षी ने लिखा है । इसके बारे में हम कल बात करेंगे ।

Babu Yatindranath was a great nobleman. Seeing helpless persons, their heart started groaning. One day, he was passing through a route in the city of Calcutta. It was summer season. All the creatures from the sun's burning heat were screaming.

At that time a poor, helpless old lady was being taken over a heavy burden on her head. It was a heavy, heavy burden, and the heat was so strong that the soul could get out. The poor old lady was tired and sat on the side of the road. It was not possible for him to go forward.

When Yatindranath came out of there, he saw that old lady sitting there. His heart became fluid. Without taking into consideration or worrying about Mahakshat from taking away the burden in this terrible summer, he said to the old lady - "Bring mother! I pick up your burden and I walk. Go ahead and tell me the way. "

The elderly gave blessings to Yatindranath. Yatindranath brought the old lady home and seeing her poor condition, she gave her five rupees.

Whether Yatindranath has not taken the honor of the sadhus, but he was a true sage and was the supreme priest, there is no recourse for any doubt in this matter. In our society, in our country, as long as Yatindranath continues to exist, the society and the country will continue to get the light to show the path.
