I beg to disagree with this post. True love is outward concern to others and not self. By propagating the mindset to self love first, the tendency is for people to become selfish.
I am not in any way insinuating that we ignore our interests but we need to keep at the back of our minds that the others first is a better principle to live by.
I agree that we must retain our self-esteem and seek out the best for ourselves everytime. But self love is not true love.
At every point we need to look out for not only our own interest but for the interest of others.
