RE: It's Just Squiggly Lines: A Stupid Name for Something that Just Looks Like Squiggly Lines

in #life8 years ago

Using layer after layer gives it somewhat of an optical illusion effect. I have to be careful not to cover too much up or I'll lose that. I do end up wasting a lot of time making random lines that end up getting covered... but whatever. Still fun.

These days I like to use the TV as a picture frame. Every few minutes a new art shows up. It's much easier than dragging all the art out of the basement because company is coming over.

Sort:

The covering up of random lines sounds familiar from oil painting- sometimes the undercoats have a beauty of their own. Then I paint over it, and a whole new thing appears, that needs to be painted over too. They say there is no finished art, but is only art that is abandoned by the artist at some point.

Until the future gets here, the TV frame might have to do. Back when TVs had antennae, we used to watch a show called Ant Races, the static fuzz on the screen when there's no channel there to watch. Hours of endless entertainment.

It is like oil painting in a way and like I said in another response, I just don't have to wait for the paint to dry. I'd say I abandoned this the moment I merged nearly all of the layers and decided I didn't feel like making the faces look more like faces. Enough was enough! I think big googly eyes would have taken too much away from the scenery.

Those damn ant races... I used to try to zoom in, by putting my face as close to the screen as possible. I'm not sure how I'm still able to see those ants 30 years later, but whatever, they look cool.

but #GooglyEyes make everything better...

even squiggly lines!

Whoa!

This comment added so much value to my post.

Thank you!

Well, you know, that's just what I do... I go around upgrading stuff with my #GooglyEyes ;)

I'm trying to be professional about it, too. Which is why I have this word-watch-thing so I can spam the hell out of people when they say the magic words.

Thanks for your attention, I already feel a little bit better about myself now!
