Don't be so ordinal
Seven years ago, yesterday, I created this account on this blockchain. Back then it was known under a different name. Like the evil one in them Arry Pottah movie cyclus, it shall be unnamed. And a lot has happened since. You may have guessed that Oal Dam Ster is not the name I have been given at birth. Actually it is the brand-name that I have been using for many years now. The name I sometimes choose to respond to in real life is also registered here on this platform. Though I did disguise it cunningly. Nah, it just got reversed, because on some platforms it turned out there were more human beings with the same first name. If you know me by that name then you belong to my trusted inner circle. Although one friend still keeps calling me Oaldamst, but that's okay, I accept nicknames when given by friends.
You know, even namecalling among friends is alright. Things like bastard, wankah and arsehole can be served with a smile to match. Yet, when said by a stranger in a pub, drunk as a skunk, it is almost begging for a question like: "You wanna take it outside...!?" Not that I'm that familiar with it, but a friend told me how these things go. Also it seems taking in a lot of alcohol makes some forget everything. Never got that effect though myself. Will get sick way before that, so I decided I would mostly focus on just enjoying special brews. With my fellow Grumpy Man Company mates it is always a pleasure. That's one thing I like about becoming of age, as it is known, I do not get worked up about a lot of things anymore. Even the mumbling and complaining we do as beerketeers is with a tongue in cheek. In the past everything was better? No freaking way! At least I do think so. Love the whole blockchain thing, always looking out for some new stuff.
Market says yes
Conservatism will extinct, simply because the survival of the fittest applies to the ever changing cycle of life. As I experience it is that the only constant in life is change and it is hardly something to hold on to. That does not mean it's all about fun and laughter. Last end of December I suddenly lost a good friend of mine. We had been mates since our teenage years. We'd meet up once a week. Mostly to walk 'n talk. He was brilliant with electronics, old school, like with Valves and stuff. Designing and building an A-class audio amplifier was something he could do. While I felt like a dumb-ass most of the times when he tried to explain how that stuff worked to me. It still is weird. All of a sudden he was gone. It had me reflect on a life a lot the last couple of months. Also because I was mostly bound to home, thanks to some physical health challenge. But luckily I almost have overcome that at least.
Somehow the title seems way off, right? Yes and no, I'll get to that in a while. Because in retrospect things happening in realms like that of the blockchain have become pretty relative to me. While I watch individuals binding themself together to go at each others throats bundled as a group. It's us against them. The recent ordinals fight is yet another useless dumb battle. But hey, at least the whole Blockchain realm is getting attention again. Lovely, calling each other names. Even ranting about how these ordinal inscriptions, with a lot of zeros and ones, would hurt children. Now, that's what I call acting desperately. And I watch it from a safe distance and wonder how serious it actually is. Too many Bitcoin spin-offs, some once claimed, even though it was made open-source by design. To be forked, innovated and made into something different. Even ever so slightly. The inventor of Bitcoin [BTC] would not have thought about that? (Now you could understand who absolutely is not the real Nakamoto Satoshi.)
My point being is that nor Bitcoin, nor anything else that came forth from that was ment to be static. Conservatism is within every block in the blockchain storage, but that's about it. Every blockchain will change during its progression and the technology that innovates will be the fittest to survive. Sure, when something new has been invented, or there was an innovation, and it is getting valued a lot, then many will jump on the bandwagon. Copycats will arrive on the scene. Like with the so called Meme Coins (or Tokens). It all began with Dogecoin. And now some Pepe seems to be the next speculative thing. While some NFTs moved over to the ordinal realm. Monkey see, monkey do. Is that an issue to me? No, in the end the market, as a dynamic entity, will decide. Today its ordinals and memes, tomorrow who knows what. Being first is key I think, as most of those who follow will fade out. Just like most of the UTXO Coins that just were clumsy forks of Bitcoin.
