We take information from the world through all our sense, that is what we see, hear, touch, taste and smell. Our thinking style gives us some automatic ways to figure things and organize the experiences and task we encounter each day. Although most people share similar patterns, each personโs style is unique. By learning and understanding to manage our thoughts we can adapt and shape so that we can create the life we want.
Which Style Are You ?
Backwarders โ Towarders
People who move away from pain may be spurred into action to avoid unpleasant situations or when things becomes hard for them. When you ask people what they want and they tell you they do not want, you will know they are running โaway fromโ style of thinking. To motivate someone who is this style, tell them about all the unpleasant things that will happen if they do not reach their target.
People who tell you what they want, and what they want to accomplish, their thinking strategy is to move toward. Show them the reward and what they will get for their effort and they will jump for it. Sometimes even too much to a point where it gets aggressive.
Necessity โ Possibility
Some people are driven by things that has to be done, or what they think should be conquered. โI must do thisโ is what they always say. People who are driven by necessity will often have a preference for procedures and have strong ideas about how things should be done.
People who are motivated by what could be done , want options and new innovations ways to do things. They like to know what the alternatives are and what might be possible for them to achieve.
Attention Seekers โ Focus On Others
People who are self-centered evaluate things from their own perspective and might not think of the effects on others. Some might even be oblivious to some outside world of their own. Some are seen as selfish and narcissistic.
Those who focus on others and how situations will affect them are carer and may put the welfare of others over their own needs. They are attentive to what is going around them and at the extreme ay end up just pleasing everyone around them but their own on their expense.
Same Same โ But Different
Some people sort for similarities and what is similar in a situation to what has gone before. They want stability and to find common ground with others. They quickest way to get a result from them is to build rapport with them.
Those who filter for difference may notice what has changed or is different from before. They make friends to have in a crisis because they pick up on every eventuality and possibilities that might go wrong. They are good to spot errors but not live with.
Big Blocks โ Narrow Blocks
Big block thinkers are able to access a whole situation. They take in large pieces of information and key point. They are often leaders or responsible of major projects. They have their vision only for the big pictures rather than small details of how they plan to get there.
Narrow Blockers are procedutal thinkers, they follow instructions and they accept way of doing things. If you interrupt them while they are talking, they may need to go back and recall the whole story from the beginning.
This post is just some views on what thinking styles people may have. They are numerous ways on how people think and act. This deepens down a bit and gives you some opposites sides of each style. The most important is that you are able to balance oneself to be well-rounded person for the highest effectiveness and also know how to approach others due to their thinking patterns and methods that might be beneficial. I like to think that i am all over the place and a little bit of everything!!. ;P

@suerisue Those who focus on others and how situations will affect them may put the welfare of others over their own needs. However, the problem with such people is that they often look for external approval too and unwittingly attach their self worth with the importance other people give them. And that is a problem, because one's self-esteem and value shouldn't be driven externally but internally.
Nice post and nice picture (an extremely attractive woman can be quite a distraction when reading).

love the approach of being balanced and not shoved into a catergory (such as most personality tests). I think most of us possess a percentage of all catergories and are more fluid than we think we are! great post!
Yes i agree !! I dont like the labeling and categorizing each personalities !! If doesnt leave us the room to want to grow but rather.."Oh yeah im this way, what can i do" attitude. We are all a little of everything. :) For better or for worst hahahaha... Thanks for your comment

It's actually super interesting! I think I fall right into necessity โ possibility. Which is quite funny, and probably what brought me to steemit in the first place.

I really find this post interesting and I sure did enjoy it. It is very true that different people have different ways of thinking. I used to want everyone to see things my way and this always reduced our team work but then when I realized not everyone thinks like me I decided to adjust and become more accommodating. Thanks for sharing this with us.
Yes.. sometimes we are so comfortable in whichever way we are that we don't leave ourselves room to grow or see a different perspective !! It's nice to able to understand somethings that we aren't used to nor comfortable with. There's no right nor wrong !! Just a whole bunch to be discovered.. That makes life colorful.
