- Decide what you want.

- Limit your media consumption. Take a lot at all of the media services you subscribe to blogs, newspapers, magazines, television and unsubscribe from the ones you don’t need and the ones that aren’t a reflection of you.
- Learn to follow Occam’s razor: “All things being equal the simplest solution is the best.”
- Surround yourself with natural beauty.
- Be spontaneous.
- Spend time with people you love.
- Let go of dreams others have for you that don’t reflect your own dreams.
- Let got of dreams you have for others and take time to understand their dreams.
- Get enough sleep.
- Stop trying to please everyone.
- Going on a spending fast. Spend a month only purchasing items that are essential at the end of month you’ll be surprised to see how easy it is to live more frugally.
- Limit your consumption of advertising. It will help you live frugally; after all advertising is designed to make us want purchase stuff.
- Laugh.
- Define what simplicity means to you. There is no right answer. Maybe it’s taking the time to shop at a farmer’s market or living in a smaller house, or going without a car.
- Take time to explore new places and cultures
- Plan every year at least a one week a vacation. Taking a week vacation is less stressful than a couple of three day vacations. Use the vacation to explore new places and cultures, lay on a beach, or relax at home but take that vacation at least once a year.
- Learn to pack light. It’s so much nicer to just step off a plane with all your bags instead of having to wait at baggage claim, face the hassle of the airline losing your luggage, or have to lug luggage around.
- Remember old traditions and create new ones.
- If you have the means pay someone to do the chores you hate doing.
- Learn to do nothing.
- Meditate.
- Find a style that suits you, stick to it, and don’t let others pressure you to change it.
- Quality not quantity
- Follow your intuition.
- Avoid unnecessary drama.
- Learn to truly forgive.
- Open the windows.
- Be assertive.
- Eat slowly and enjoy your meal.
- Create a recipe book of healthy, fresh meals that you enjoy, and eat them as much as possible.
- Make finding a job you love to do a priority.
- Find ways to simplify your financial life. Cancel all but one or two credit cards and/or bank accounts.
- Keep perspective.
- Always have a pen and something to write on such as a notecard or notebook. Record everything that comes up: ideas, to-do lists, etc. This way you can figure out what to do with your thoughts later.
- Delegate
- Limit your commitments. Make a list of all commitments, social obligations, and any other organization or club you belong to. Cross out anything that doesn’t bring you joy or is helping to achieving your goals.
- Clear our your inbox.
- Fill you day with simple joys. Create a list of small, simple things that bring you joy and incorporate a few of them into each day.
- Follow a three-year old around for a day and do everything he does.
- Exercise.
- Determine what’s important.
- Take a walk.
- Bring reusable bags to all stores not just the market.
- Carry less stuff.
- Define what success means to you.
- Stop comparing yourself to others.
- Clear out the clutter especially if it holds unhappy memories.
- Be present.
- Slow down.
