How to Record Electric Guitar Directly on Any Android Smartphone

in #marketfriday3 years ago

Sometimes you just need to record your electric guitar fast and this is the fastest and cheapest way I know using your smartphone with a 3.5mm to 6.3mm jack adapter.
You don't need an amp just your electric guitar, a guitar lead, your smartphone and this cheap little adapter.

A three and a half-inch? Really, Michael? :) That is so non-Imperial of you!

This was pretty cool, especially for us nonrecording types. I had no idea it was so easy! Thank you so much. It is these small little things that amaze me. You don't need big equipment for the quick listen that you need. This will certainly do the trick.

#MarketFriday has evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact of what is normal for where you live? These are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I can only hope this to be true.

Upped and reposted

Thanks Denise for the reblog much appreciated. Well spotted on the imperial goofup 😂 Hows it going over in the colonies? 😂😂
I've used smartphones as backup recording devices for years and they saved many a dodgy audio track on my videos.
I thought i'd share this little tip for those folk who maybe can't afford any other way to record their instruments. Plus its just super useful to record little musical ideas. 😋🎼🎶🎸👍

I've never actually plugged a guitar into my phone. I may have to try it some time. I just have so many different ways to record audio. I know there are some apps that can add effects to a guitar on a phone, but I think those were mostly for iPhones as it had better audio drivers.

I need to do more music recording generally.

Hi Steve, this method is useful for quick recording of musical ideas and is also a way for people who have no amp or clue of how to record anything.
You may be surprised how many people have electric guitars but nothing else except a phone! It's a thing now lol.

I blame PRS for turning guitars into wall ornaments? 😂🎸👍

See who spots the imperial mistake first lol

That might work for some of the phone app guitar tuners too. Especially if you want to tune and keep it quiet like late night...
