Something I just realized about Ikaris:
The oldest interpretation of the tale of Icarus is a cautionary tale against arrogance. And I can see Sprite creating that tale as a dig at Ikaris (he’s got a silent passive air of arrogance about him ).
However, the more recent and somewhat deeper interpretation is that it’s a warning that humanity should not try to approach the divine. That there are certain concepts/powers that humanity is not meant to grasp, that would burn the human mind should a human attempt to grasp it.
And when u look at that later interpretation, that is the tragedy of Ikaris - he was cursed with the knowledge of eternity and of the ephemeral nature of all that he loves… and so he shunned that which he loved for fear of one day losing them, and sought purpose in his cosmic mission - things that will likely outlive him.
