My husband, the electrical engineer who has a brain for math, looked at this and wondered why anyone would bother with the lattice vs the old standard methods. So.... is this just something new and different, a way to check our work, or is it some new way of teaching kids multiplication?
(Yes. He too is more than half a century old.)

Yes, it is time consuming and I also prefer the simple methods. The truth is I also don't know who invented the lattice hehe I just find it a bit fun to do when u want to play with the numbers. :D
