I blush to confess, this looks like rocket science to me.
I'm going to ask my husband if he gets it.
Is there part of Common Core or that new way of teaching kids to do math? I applaud you for this - please don't get me wrong - but I'm more than half a century old, and this doesn't look time-saving to me. I learned to break up the component numbers by tens. So, 25 x 15 = (25 x10 = 250; add 25 x 5, 125; 375) - th

My husband, the electrical engineer who has a brain for math, looked at this and wondered why anyone would bother with the lattice vs the old standard methods. So.... is this just something new and different, a way to check our work, or is it some new way of teaching kids multiplication?
(Yes. He too is more than half a century old.)
Hello ma'am @carolkean thank u so much for reading my post :).
