Giant cuttlefish, crazy colour changes and shape shifting is what makes these creatures amazing to watch, an average dive lasts about a hour but i could watch these guys for hours. They are closely related to Octopus and squid all of which are incredibly intelligent. I was very lucky to observe this one placing its eggs into the coral where they will stay protected from predators until hatching.
All photos are the same cuttlefish doing it's thing, even in monochrome you can see the colour changes.
Here the eggs are being inserted into the coral.
This shot you can see a egg being readied for hiding.
Thanks for taking a look and hope you all enjoyed this entry.
Were you in the water with them or you got them at home?
In the sea about 25 meters deep, southern Leyte philippines. Would need a big tank if you were hoping to have at home they are over a foot long:)
You are a diver then. Nice
