Deal with negativity - The Cursed Panda Game

in #motivation6 years ago (edited)

Lately, I have been deeply observing all kind of negativity coming out from other people and the way they try to "curse" other people so that they become negative too. It's like a virus, an infection, a Zombieland or The Walking Dead but luckily in this case you are not being chased to be eaten. PHEW! But who knows what can happen, right?

Before I continue I would like you to do me a little favor - try testing and observing it yourself what I am about to say next. The results will astound you!

Imagine all that negativity coming out from other "zombies" like a game, a Cursed Panda getting attached to you (Sorry not Candy Crush). Hmmm, what is that???

Well, I guess we all had a moment where we were knocked out of our homeostasis (calm and stable condition of an organism) by some external negative factor, in this case, caused by other person being negative (telling or yelling something offensive etc.). Actually it is not about the other person that have cursed you to become negative too but YOU yourself that have let that happen. Let me repeat that: Actually it is not about the other person that have cursed you to become negative too but YOU yourself that have let that happen. I found a very interesting way of seeing this as a game so I've decided to name it the Cursed Panda that gets attached and sits on negative people shoulder. Just like those pandas.

Yeah they are laughing because they know the game.

So what Cursed Panda does? It sits on the shoulder and consumes that person's energy generated by his/her negative thoughts and emotions. Negativity for Panda is like most delicious dessert for us. The more we feed Panda the fatter she gets and thus harder to get rid of. Once a person decides to stop generating negative thoughts and emotions, the Cursed Panda begins to starve and dependent on how fat she already got, sooner or later she falls down from the shoulder bringing us back to homeostasis. When I personally get rid of Cursed Panda my mind usually tells me: "OMG I'm feeling soooo GREAT forgetting about all that negativity! I feel FREE!'". Every time it feels like a heavy rock have abandoned my body and forgiveness have lightened my soul.

Now as you know what the Cursed Panda does, let's jump straight into the game.

The Cursed Panda Game: any time someone "attacks" you, imagine that you are getting a Cursed Panda coming at you ("Hello it's me, Cursed Panda, give me your energyyyy") from that person and now you have 2 options.

Option #1: lose that game by letting Panda sit on you meaning you start to give negativity back. You get "infected", you become a Panda's slave. You might even start attacking others spreading the "virus".

OR

Option #2: WIN that game by not paying attention to that hungry Panda coming at you meaning that you will RESPECT the other person no matter what. You might even honestly say: "Thank you for your input, you made me think." or "I respect your opinion, let's sort it out together." or anything similar (dependent on the situation).  Or you might even introduce the Cursed Panda for him/her. Try that and you will see how other people will get confused, because they did not expect that. It's such an awesome experience but it requires one BIG thing - overcoming our egos. Fighting fire with fire is always the easiest option right? However, what's easy in life in most cases can lead us to failure, loss or even death.

Very powerful quote to take a moment and think: "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." - by Martin Luther King Jr.

Now as you know the rules you can start playing the Cursed Panda Game! Yesss! Be a WINNER, winners are tough, winners are remembered, winners are who make a change. Have fun playing and let me know how is it going in the comments below! (even rhymed haha).

Note: if you did not understand please read the whole blog again and more importantly do PRACTICE on your own. And don't forget to use a bit of your IMAGINATION :)

Anger is like a hot stone. If you pick it up to throw at someone, you will get burned. - Ancient Proverb

Same with negativity, if you let it into your system. It is you who will suffer at all :)

This post calls to mind (and I can't remember who said it): "You don't have to attend every argument you are invited to." Certainly, we cannot always control what situations we may find ourselves in but we can, however, control our reactions to them. Perhaps, in those times when we are discriminating in our reactions, then and only then, do we really have any true and authentic power.

I once found myself in a situation where it was less than heathy. Here is a blog I wrote about that:

How is walking dead?

Personally it's not that exciting as it was before, but I still keep watching it, what about you?

It has been long time since i last played pc games.

There is a lot of "schadenfrued" out there. Makes people feel good about themselves when they see others having a bad time. People like this often are in a very bad place. Try to focus on your family, close friends and of course yourself! Cut negative people out of your life our you could become one.

Yeah, that's sad when people feel great seeing others struggle. Sometimes cutting is the only way... :) Thanks for stopping by!

@taimoorbitrex

What an interesting lesson in unburdening yourself from negetivity. I want to share this with people. Unfortunately I know too many people who let their Cursed Panda grow so fat it breaks their back.

Thank you @puddinpaws! Good thing is that by spreading practices/information we can help people realize, see a different way. But still they will have to choose themselves.. :)

Inteligent panda

Hope it does not sit on you ;))

Very good reflection, congratulations for your post, it is a very explicit text, very well written and original, very few are expressed and think so, but the truth is that you are quite right.
There is a lot of badness and envy, you must follow your path and get what you propose, being careful with the tripping of others ...
I hope you go for my steemit, greetings!

Thank you for reading @jessymg ! You are totally right that envy and negativity awaits for us all once we step out of our comfort zones. But the good news is that we can always have control over it.

Visiting yours soon! Best regards

Thank you for sharing your insight.
