Aunt Beru looking to connect with Star Wars Steemians!!

Hi everyone!

As I mentioned in my introduction post last week (https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@bonniepiesse/wooohooo-introducing-myself-aussie-singer-songwriter)--amongst other things, I’m an actor and was lucky enough to play Aunt Beru (the woman who raised Luke Skywalker) in two Star Wars movies (Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith).

Being a part of the whole Star Wars universe has brought so much to my life… it’s truly amazing the doors that have opened because of it, and I’ve traveled all over the world to meet fans. There’s an amazing amazing community of Star Wars fans out there and I’ve found them so supportive of everything I’ve done since… and I’ve become a fan myself too!

I think Steemit could be an amazing way for Star Wars fans to connect and share their love of the films and I’d love to meet all the Star Wars Steemians out there!! If you’re one, please come say hi! It’d be so great to build a strong Star Wars community on here!!

Funnily enough, the very first person I really connected with on Steemit was @coruscate… I just loved her posts and she’s constantly inspiring me. Turns out, she was named after Princess Leia and her brother @thinkinglbt was named after Luke Skywalker!!! What an awesome coincidence! It really made my day yesterday when I heard that :)

I’ll also definitely be posting some Star Wars related things soon, so would love to hear what you’d be interested in!! Here are some ideas:

  • My history with Star Wars… ie experiences I had on set, at fan conventions etc
  • Q&A's
  • Interviews with other Star Wars actors

And don’t worry @reseller I’ll be doing a Blue Milk post sometime soon :)

Hope you’re all having a great day/night wherever you are!

xo Bonnie

P.S These awesome Jedi pics were by my hubby @markvicente!

Pinging @lordvader - you may want to see this my lord

@bonniepiesse don't bother with that guy. He's a wampa's ass.

That sounds awesome! Bring on that light saber! I'm sure I have my blue (or green) one around here somewhere lol.
Thanks for the shoutout.

Love it!! Any plans to do any Star wars themed posts?

It is a privilege to meet you... i hope we can be friends here. I will keep up with your blog as well.

I found you from a twitter post....

Dante is here, No Fear

Cheers

Yay so great that you found me through Twitter, yes definitely let's be friends!

OMG haha!!! This is amazing :)

That Feeling when a Real Star Wars Cast joins Steemit.

Welcome Bonnie! :D :]
danke Tim.jpg

Haaaaaa I love it!!! Thanks @jumowa!

“I’ve got a bad feeling about this...” No wait! The other thing! Good feeling! Welcome to Steemit! @logan3destroyer and myself are huge Star Wars fans! (Except for that last abomination of a movie). But we would really like to hear on screen experiences and trivia. Very cool you are here in our Universe now.

100% Upvote and follow because STAR WARS!

Yay thanks @harleymechanix!! And I have a good feeling about all this too :) Following you and @logan3destroyer now!

@hanshotfirst might be a Star Wars fan?

Thanks @mattclarke, following him!

He might be.......just a little bit.........LOL

"hanshotfirst might be a Star Wars fan?", you don't say!? xD

Ahhh these Jedi pictures are awesome!! Definitely following your husband now too. Heading out and taking Star Wars themed photos is serous relationship goals.

I would love to see any and all Star Wars content you feel like putting out to the Steemisphere... by the way.

Resteeming so hopefully it will help a few more Star Wars fans find you! 😊

Almost everywhere I go on Steemit, I see you on the threads. It seems you are one of the great connecters here, so keep up the good work. I think that is one of the benefits of a curated platform, since you discover other content through the eye software other trusted curators.

Aww @jeftek your comment means more to me than you know!!

Yay thanks girl! The jedi photo shoot was super fun... I highly recommend it! Good for the soul :)

Welcome home Aunt Beru ;)

This is a wonderful idea, Bonnie! Since there are no official groups or communities yet, it's great to find ways of connecting people with similar interests and giving them a home on Steemit - it can feel pretty chaotic here when first joining, looking through all the random trending posts, so it's a relief when you start finding like-minded friends to follow! We've been trying to bring photographers together, and some day I would like to do the same for Tolkien fans if no one else does it first.

I didn't mention it on your welcome post, but it's awesome to have you here, as a recognizable face from Star Wars, especially knowing that you've become a fan as well. It makes us feel warm and fuzzy inside to know that the actors in our favourite movie series' are as enthusiastic about it as we are.

And yes, I love Star Wars! I won't claim to be more of a fan than I am - I know many people take it way more seriously than me, but there's something about the Star Wars galaxy that feels right to me and has since I was a kid. Every year or two I binge watch the movies and have John Williams's soundtracks on repeat for days.

As for your question - yes to those ideas! We'd all love to hear your behind-the-scenes experiences from both filming and at convention - we usually only see that from the other side.

Speaking of purple lightsabers, here's an image I made a couple of years ago...

violet by derek kind.jpg

Would love to see other people's Star Wars-inspired art and photography! I need to make more SW related art: the imagery and the use of colors in the movies, from the first to the most recent, have always been exceptional and inspiring. Every time I watch one I get home and think "wow, I want to make a photo like that scene."

That's awesome re Star Wars binges and John Williams for days :) And yeah I'm hoping to find more and more of a like minded community on here... grateful to have connected with some really cool people already! (Yourself included). And btw amazing pic!!! I'd love to see more!

Now you're making me want to watch all the movies again...and then come up with some ideas for more pics!

And thank you, to both things! :) I appreciate that you're taking the time to reply and comment - on Steemit that may be as important as the content itself, and it does not go unnoticed. :)

@inthenow check this out! an exciting landmark for Steemit

Thanks @elderson!

I love that you are bringing the Star Wars fans together here! Great idea. And when does @markvicente start posting???

And Benny makes an appearance!

I'd love to hear from Mark as well.

Keeping eyes and ears out!

I'd say he'll start posting in a day or two! Looking forward to having the whole family on here :)

Welcome @bonniepiesse to our community and make yourself at home! There are many Star Wars fans here including myself that used to own many things when I heavily collected, bought, sold, and traded some Star Wars things! Over time I have owned most of the original figures, movies, trading, and collectible game cards, along with some original figures in the original unopened packages signed by the actors, and two life sized Yodas!

That's awesome :) I've collected a few things over the years too!

welcome aboard! I am really looking forward to the community features coming to Steemit since a StarWars focus seems perfect.

Yes! What do you mean by community features? That sounds interesting...

they are looking to expand the tools to curate content around a community of a central or common theme.

you can read about it here on the Steemit roadmap

https://steemit.com/steemit/@abh12345/steemit-meet-steemit-s-first-community-owners-and-administrators-or-ned-delegates-or-github-and-whitepaper-extracts-or-community

Lol that is a great action shot at the bottom! I would love to know if you have any more details on the Gold Dice in the millinium falcon backstory. I mentioned it in the post I will link here. The reason I am so interested in these dice is that I am involved with a 24 karat gold jewelry company that makes 24 karat gold dice and would love to write something about this (the only info I have is from the article linked within my own post ).. thank you!!! https://steemit.com/steem/@goldmatters/turning-bitcoin-profits-into-24k-gold-dice

Oooooh interesting... I'll see what info I can find re the Gold Dice!!

8AFBC838-1A59-4F6E-AFDD-194F1823A205.jpeg <——- these are my version :)

Wow they're awesome! I'll definitely stay in touch about this

welcome to this community buddy... U also tell us about ur passion i appreciates ur excellence.... Thnxxx fr sharing ur views with us.......😃😃😃👌👌👌👌👌.

I love Star Wars! I was born in 77 when the franchise began, and return of the jedi was one of the first movies I went to the cinemas to see.

I'm so happy that Disney bought the franchise to breathe new life into it. I'm loving the direction the new films are taking.

Nice to steem-meet you @bonniepiesse :-)

That's awesome @positiveninja! Nice to steem-meet you too :)

I have a purple lightsaber too!

Yeah, I love star wars, following you, it will be neat to hear some of your stories I am sure!

Cool to see your post! My husband and I love Star Wars, he will be so excited to check out your stuff. He is doing Star Wars shirts of the week this year is you want to follow another fan- @lordvdr is his name. I am looking forward to following your posts.

Yay @jametheil, I'm following you both now! Great to steem-meet you!

And great to steem-meet you as well! Thank you!

ohhh what an amazing experience my admiration, one of the best movies in the world totally

That's awesome @assirak, nice to steem-meet you!

Great to have you here. Lots of Star Wars fans here. I'm one of the original generation who had their minds blown in 1977. As others have said @lordvader is around here, but so is 'whiny farm boy' @luke-skywalker. You should feel at home

Ah excellent @steevc! Nice to steem-meet you!

The queen of space denim. This is dope!

Haha yes!! Thanks :)

Welcome aboard the Starship Steemit!

It is great to have you aboard. :)

Welcome. Having more Star Wars loving people on here is great!
I am working on a goal of posting a picture of me wearing a different Star Wars shirt every week for the entire year. So far so good, hopefully I'll make it all the way.

Ah that's awesome, I'm following you so will keep an eye out for those posts :)

Cool. The next one will be posted on Thursday.

It looks like there are a couple of us on here with similar names, there is another lordvader. Make sure to follow @lordvdr as well so you don't miss the shirt posts. :)

I was lucky enough to meet David Prowse in full Darth garb in Debenhams when I was about 3. Because that’s obviously where a Sith goes on a day off. He was HUGE AND TERRIFYING. Must have been about ‘81, prime Star Wars times!

Wow that's awesome! I've met Dave a few times and he's always be very kind!

To small me, very intimidating! But I remember walking away and asking my brother where he parked his Tie Fighter. He said that it was on the roof, and that was good enough for me.

My single Star Wars in real life experience!

Hi Bonnie. Nice to meet you! I'm new here and am looking forward to reading your posts and hearing your music.

Thanks so much!

Hey Bonnie!

Fellow Star Wars fan, here. It's a bit eerie being able to connect with an actress who played a character in the Star Wars series.

*shudders *

Do you keep in touch with others you played alongside? I'd love to hear more about your stories and adventures while on set.

If you have the time to spare, I wrote a two part series on my introduction to Star Wars. I have two uncles that nearly scared Star Wars out of me.

Part 1
Part 2

All the best,
Nick

Nice I'll check them out! Yes I keep in touch with a handful of the actors and crew! It really is kind of like a family :)

That's terrific!

I'm so glad you've made those sorts of bonds. I'm very envious of you! I know Mark Hamill didn't have anything to do with the prequels (to my knowledge), but have you had the chance to meet him? Of all the interviews I've seen, he seems like a super nice guy.

Thanks for replying to my comment - you're truly are dedicated to your fandom!

Of course--I'm still new at this whole Steemit thing but loving all the interaction! Yes I met Mark Hamill briefly once at a Star Wars Celebration! Yes he was super nice!

Yes - I've been here since August last year and I still feel very new. It doesn't change much. Although I can't wait until Steemit goes fully mainstream like FB, insta, twitter etc. It's in desperate need of more quality writers who aren't getting their work seen.

I have been amazed at how many people are following me. It's mind blowing. I lost it at twenty people - a hundred was incredible. Now four hundred! Who knew it, right? My blog had next to no traffic. What a transformation.

That's great. You truly are super lucky--probably just very hardworking. I appreciate that! I'd love to meet Mark one day. One can only dream. * sigh *

Take care,
Bonnie!

Pure awsomeness :D I've been a massive Star Wars fan since seeing the first episode in the theater back in 1979. In our house, my kids use star wars as a "judge of character" for new friends, lol. "I don't know mom....they've never even seen Star Wars!!" "..and they didn't even know what the pit of sarlacc was!!!!" .... we have more light sabers in our house, than dolls... and I have 2 girls and 2 boys, so that's sayin' something!!

Welcome aboard!!

Ha that's so great :) Nice to e-meet you!

Not only are you a bona fide Star Wars cast member (twice no less), but you were also in a couple of episodes of one of my favourite Aussie shows - Stingers.

Oh that's great! I LOVED working on Stingers... amazing people!

Not a fan of the films myself my ex kind of ruined them for me. But welcome to the platform May the STEEM force be with you. Though not a fan there was some memorable lines that came out of the movie.

:) Thanks for the welcome!

Yes!!!!! Welcome to the club! And I have felt strongly that steemit is lacking in its Star Wars fans community, especially female! I recently referred to myself as a cryptopadawan. My humor is lost on so many.

One of my very first posts here was about the theory that Jar Jar Binks was originally intended by George Lucas to be a sith LORD! Whaaat. And my post got no audience. Afterwards, I was so embarrassed that I wrote a blog about Jar Jar Freaking Binks, and then discovered that you CAN'T DELETE posts here! Good lord, no! Here is my proof!
https://steemit.com/star/@paintingangels/star-wars-darth-jar-jar
It got ZERO upvotes and 2 comments, one of which is my own, asking the bot which posted the other comment (congratulating me on my 4th post) how to delete the post.. because JAR JAR.

I apologize for my wildly ridiculous welcome, but your presence here has thoroughly elated me. I 💖Star Wars. All of them. I even like Jar Jar. He never gets any love. Poor thing.

Lots of love! I'll chat SW with you or anyone anytime! Woot!

MTFBWY,
💖-serena

Loved this comment, Serena.

I'm a committed..I mean passionate star wars fan, here too.

I'm going to sink my teeth into your post.. I'll leave this one of mine for you to have a peek at! - My partner and I watched A New Hope at the Sydney Convention Centre - where all of John Williams' music was played by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Incredible.

https://steemit.com/sydney/@nickmorphew/star-wars-a-new-hope-in-concert-with-the-sydney-symphony-orchestra

Take care!
Nick

Ohhh, I think they had that here in Nashville as well! I know there was a concert where the only thing played was John Williams' music. I wanted to go but scheduling prevented me. I'm going to check out your post, thanks for sharing! I'll be following you so I can keep up! : )
♥-serena

Be sure to leave a comment to let me know you've stopped by!

Take care,
Nick

That's pretty awesome! I was lucky enough to see John Williams at the Hollywood Bowl!! At one point hundreds of people pulled out lightsabers and it was quite spectacular!

p.s. The way you stare off into the double sunset is downright magical. 💝

Thanks!! I actually happen to love Jar Jar!! Also I think Ahmed best is an awesome guy :) Re your post that's hysterical, I'll check it out!

Yay! And he seems like a wonderful person!

Oh, I've only been a Star Wars fan since the first movie came out in the theaters in 1977... :-)
People have their best loved movie and their least liked movie, I liked them all!
I look forward to reading more of your posts, and also to hearing some of your music if you decide to post it here.

Yes I'll be posting more and more! Glad to e-meet you!

This is so awesome! Thanks for giving my sis @coruscate and brother @thinkinglbt a shout out! Little known fact, themed names are common in our family, when I was named after Mary Jane from Spiderman!

Love the pics!
Must've been awesome! So that means you played alongside Joel, right?
I went to the same acting school as Joel. We met when we were both 19 when we were in an episode of Police Rescue together. Going WAAAAAAAY back!
Anyway, nice to have a fellow Australian-thespian-musican here on Steemit. Not surprising that Ben Lee connected us.

Well this post is outside of the “7 days”, but AUNT BERU!!!!!!!!!!

People have thoughts on the prequels.... but I will tell you, my FAVORITE bit is that last few minutes of Revenge of the Sith, when they play the Princess Leia theme song for the first time as she is taken to Alderan & then Obi-wan hands Aunt Beru (YOU!!!!!) Luke & she & Owen hold him in front of the setting suns of Tatooine..... in the theater i was crying. ☺️ Ha ha... maybe I am crying now.

Star Wars (the original) was the very first movie I saw in a theater (drive-in) as a kid. 1977, three years old.... magic.
