Anyone out there? It's been a while...

So, I am 22 now and it's been 3 years since I've posted. Time sure does fly by! Especially when getting older I've noticed. It feels like we are going faster than 88mph!

The last time I posted was when Steemit was still a thing, crazy to think back then the whole crypto space was even earlier in its stages of adoption and popularity, Steemit had just started more or less too. From what I've gathered so far being back on the blockchain, it's become way better with Hive!

Imagine my relief when I realized I still had my passwords kept safe!

I am glad to be posting again, it feels like a new experience as I've grown a lot as a person and forgot how much I actually enjoy making content, it also feels very nostalgic. I don't know what to expect as I am basically new again but I am eager to grow and interact with the community!

Big shout out to @giantbear! If it wasn't for this great person that got me started, I wouldn't have even known about crypto and blockchain blogging, back when I was still a teen.

I've been aspiring to get active in the community again! There were a lot of circumstances that held me back as I grew into adulthood, it was a battle to get to the point where I am today, but now, I am in a place where I can take time to explore the things that I am passionate about and grow myself even more. I have a lot on my mind and so many creative ideas to share, I am excited to see where things go from here as this is a first step in creating methods for me to express myself.

Hello to everyone that does see this post, my name is Stefan, Aka, Africk. I am 22 years young and I'm from South Africa. I am a music producer and have been for close to a decade. (Next year will be my 10th year)

Why'd I go ghost?

There are quite a few reasons for this, as life tends to throw curveballs. Mainly, I had to completely shift my attention to becoming self-sufficient and adjusting to the adult world, which ironically, I only realized later in my years that Steemit(Now Hive) could have financially assisted with that. Better late than never, right?

Also, another big reason, I was not active and struggling to get the things done I wanted to in terms of content and making music, was because the computer I had back then was already years old. The CPU was a Pentium, which for those who don't know much about computers, it was like having a fossilised dinosaur running my system.

What's happened between then and now?

To sum it down, over the past three years, I graduated from high school, left the bird's nest from my parents home and started pursuing my endeavours in music. I moved around quite a lot and had my fair share of adversities, overcoming a lot of obstacles and learning a lot on the way.

Present-day

I've gotten to a stable point in my life where I am happy and hardworking. I work from home and still practice making music every day.

I've gained a lot of knowledge over these 3 short years and have been hit with lessons from life that's shaped a lot of the notions that have enriched my view on life.

A few of those lessons include:

  1. Hold true friends and family close, cut ties with toxic people that make you feel less.
  2. Take calculated risks in order to learn.
  3. Never give up when life (and people) get you down.
  4. Enjoy every moment.
  5. Every goal takes time so there's no need to rush.
  6. Eat healthily and drink a lot of water.
  7. Don't take anything for granted.
  8. Never stop learning.
  9. If you fail, do it again.
  10. Take time to take care of yourself.

Where do I go from here?

Honestly, I am not entirely sure what direction I'll be taking posting here on Hive but I do know that I like it and will figure it out as I go. I also know for sure that I want to create good and quality value for the community. My technical knowledge and skills in music production have improved considerably over the years so I'll be sharing related content in future posts. I already have some great ideas on what I can post in terms of music content so I am keen to experiment and see what you all like most!

I hope that this post was a nice read for you because it was certainly fun and exciting for me to write. Whether only one person or one hundred people see this, I hope you enjoyed it!
