La Brea Tar Pits - Show Us Your California

in #mycalifornia22 days ago

Hi friends,

This post is an entry into the weekly Show Us Your California contest hosted by @thesocalhive where we share an aspect of our California.

My son’s school class recently went on a field trip to a very cool place in the middle of Los Angeles - the La Brea Tar Pits!

These are natural tar pits that animals have got stuck and died in, and became fossilized. There are a number of significant historical finds, and they continue to be discovered even today. Archeologists are slowly going through a backlog of prehistoric fossils. There have been quite a few Woolly Mammoths found here, along with saber tooth tigers, giant land sloths, and dire-wolves - so crazy!

A fun thing to do in the middle of Los Angeles if you ever get the chance!

Thanks for coming by,
Brian

A very interesting place to visit!

Los Angeles has so much stuff to see

Wow, I really like the level of detail on that Mammoth. This seems like a very nice place to have a field trip, and the kids will learn a lot, while also seeing incredible things.

This is very beautiful. In which there are many things to see. But you are looking very beautiful. thanks for sharing @brian.rrr

On my list to visit one of these days!

They have a lot of symbolic materials that is capable of blowing people mind away

Wow
Your son must have had fantastic experiences over there
Kudos to the school and the place looks awesome

In this way, not every person can make beautiful sculptures, but artists work hard to make them.

Your city is very beautiful because different types of animals and natural pictures are shown in it. There are some things which after searching we get something new, hence keep participating in such programs with children.

awesome
