Hola hola amigos, hoy les traigo una pequeña dosis de amor ochentero con mi version de el super clasico, ‘I want to know what love is’ (Quiero saber lo que es el amor), para este tema, icono de los 80s, me parecio una buena idea hacerlo un poco mas "pop", mas "organico", claro sin dejar a un lado la magia del rock. De esta cancion puedo comentarles que su grandiosidad, refleja una cálida pasión que se ha extendido hasta nuestros días desde que en 1984 salió al mercado y se vio inmediatamente premiada con el número uno, en Estados Unidos y Europa. Escrita por Mick Jones e interpretada por Lou Gramm es considerada la mejor obra del grupo Foreigner, y que mantiene su "toque", sin problemas a pesar del paso de los años, removiendo recuerdos pasados y generando nuevas sensaciones. Al escucharla suena más triste que alegre, tomando en cuenta que, su principal idea, es el tema del amor en su concepto universal. ‘I want to know what love is’ constituye una especie de combinación de rock duro y música algo comercial, que hizo estragos (en el buen sentido), gracias a unos acordes ya reconocibles desde el primer segundo.
La tranquilidad de la noche londinense y el insomnio fueron los principales gestores de esta composición, elementos que sumados a una época de desamor y amor por parte de su autor, dieron como resultado un éxito que sigue sonando a más de tres décadas de su lanzamiento. En una entrevista registrada en ShortList, Mick Jones -guitarrista y corista de la banda- explicó cómo creó “I wanna know what love is”, en medio de una nueva relación de pareja y una época en que su banda era presionada para vender millones de discos. A más de 30 años, el músico reconoce que no anticipó tal nivel de éxito para su canción, pero que está feliz que haya sido así: “Se transformó en un tema sobre el amor universal, un amor entre todos nosotros, y eso es lo que queda”.

La banda nació en Nueva York, en 1976, creada por Mick Jones, un músico de larga experiencia en el rock. Mick abandonó Gran Bretaña a los 18 años, y recorrió Europa con el grupo Nero & Gladiators: una vez disuelto éste, permaneció una temporada en Francia, donde colaboró con algunos artistas locales, como Johnny Halliday, el Elvis Presley francés.
