If boredom would be a creature, it would be a sea creature. Why do I say that? Well, first of all, I am fascinated by the sea life, I love everything about it, it’s a mixture of respect and curiosity that keeps me passionated about this field.
Second of all, the sea is very generous with space, boredom could travel continuosly in the vast oceans of the Earth without getting...bored. We ,as people, and then as artists, we find it very unbearable when we reach a point of boredom. We do not like it, we might procrastinate and go along with it, but not on long periods of time.
I find boredom to be like a numbing pill. It makes you not feel anymore when life is pinching your butt. It takes colour, taste, excitement out of your perception and makes you not want to do things when you are feeling this way.
In this watercolor painting I suggested that what you can do to make it better is to let boredom travel, to let it walk away into the vast oceans of the conscience and pick yourself up and explore what life has in store for you.

I like to say that ( us ) creatives never get bored.
In fact, I recently told somebody that I don't get bored. I can always think of things to do.
Isn't it kind of a kids thing? In the late 80s / early 90s we used to say "we are bored" to our parents, to point out that we would like to watch TV or play computer games. Things have changed a lot, since then. Or not? ;<)
Oh yes, an artist can't get bored. Unless, at least for me, someone would press me to do the same thing over and over again. Or if I would put that pressure on myself. I think it is the freedom of choosing what we want to do as artists makes us stay away from boredom and creative rut. When I feel free I feel the most creative
You're right. I totally agree with you on that. It's repetition that easily makes us feel bored but we usually have way more options of / freedom in how to do things than we think we have ( even if it comes to repetitive tasks )
