For my first entry into the launch of Hive Open Mic ( #openmic ), I offer a song about learning to be peaceful through observing the natural surroundings. This song fits the theme, "Sweeter Than Honey," with two stanzas written in admiration of the honeybee.
To Create The Peace
"To Create The Peace" is one of the signature songs of the band I play with: Cosmic Butterflies [And A Bear] (https://cosmicbutterflies.com). We were on course to record and release this song by now, until the times changed, and we rolled to a stand-still. I hope to return to the studio soon, and capture this song in a good way.
Hive Open Mic is underway right now, with the Week 1 theme: "Sweeter Than Honey."
Lyrics
The words were inspired in a turbulent moment at home, when the kids were acting rowdy and my wife overpowered their howls by proclaiming: "My calm is stronger than your chaos." It was a miracle! The kids quieted down immediately, listening to the voice of love.
I must sing as sparrows sing
As a royal force of calm
That relaxes everything
And the wind sending it long
I will pacify this forest
Being tender kind and strong
I must journey as the deer
Being stealthy in the forest
Moving safely far and near
I will walk to make my way
To the place where I am going
At a pace I can sustain

With the pollen that I bring

To be humble artful helpful

I must see as eagles see
Having keenness in my senses
Having sensibilities

Thanks brother, fun hearing from you! What a treat. How's family life? We're home schooling now, and it's been a rewarding experience, although difficult at times. Are you playing much music lately? I'd love for you to jump into the Hive Open Mic, if you're up for it.
What do you think about Hive so far? I decided to focus my efforts here, rather than Steemit, because it feels like a fresh start for me. My work schedule has really opened up over the past month, so I've got some free time to invest into artistry and community.
Steem is dead to me :) I just broke my right wrist so probably no open mic for me, although maybe I could bust out the looper and do a vocal loop accompanying track. I am having a great time with my kiddos though, they are my "right hand men" and are being super helpful
Bummer about your wrist. I crashed on my wrist pretty hard the other day while I was playing with the kids—decided soccer is best for the grass, not concrete. Yeah, I like the way you used to do multiple audio tracks with multiple videos in a single layout.

Aw, thank you. I still feel kinda shy sharing songs, and I guess that's part of the growing pains that we all have to face as we share. Happy we have this Hive to express ourselves and enjoy each other's art.
