Hello Everyone! Today I have a story to share about the adventure of the last week, and I want to share a song that I have for you and to share in the Open Mic!

Todo sucedió la semana pasada, para ser más precisos el Sábado 11 de julio de 2020, pero la planificación del caos inicia tres semanas antes, el Sábado 27 de Junio del mismo año, estábamos distraídos un rato en mi casa, la verdad es que después de casi 5 meses de cuarentena cualquier oportunidad para reunirse es buena, en medio de una gavera de cerveza y unos choripanes decidimos subiríamos a Pico Naiguatá a acampar para variar un poco la rutina y el encierro, nuestro plan era para el Sábado 4 de Julio, ósea el fin siguiente, pero cuando se acercaba el fin de semana no terminamos de coordinar y decidimos subir el Sábado 11, la semana del 11 preparamos todo sin saber lo que nos esperaba.
It all happened last week, to be more precise on Saturday July 11, 2020, but the planning of what ended up being a chaos started three weeks before, on Saturday June 27 of the same year, we were relaxing for a while in my house, and the truth is that after almost 5 months of quarantine any opportunity to meet is good, so in the middle of a beer box and some choripanes we decided to go up to Pico Naiguatá to camp in order to change the routine and the confinement, our plan was made for Saturday 4th of July, that is to say the following end, but when the weekend was approaching we did not finish coordinating and decided to go up on Saturday 11th, the week of the 11th we prepared everything without knowing what was waiting for us.
El Pico Naiguatá es el pico más alto de toda la cordillera de la costa, tiene una altitud de 2765m así que para llegar arriba hay que dejar el pulmón en el camino, y si no tienes intenciones de dormir arriba entonces subir a las 4 am para llegar tocar el pico y bajar porque son unas 5 o 6 horas para llegar hasta arriba a avanzando a buen ritmo, el Pico Naiguatá forma parte del parque nacional El Avila, mi lugar preferido (:

Si encontrábamos un punto de acceso al Ávila donde no hubieran guardias nacionales no debería haber mayor inconveniente para subir, creo que es el mejor plan que había escuchado en siglos, además (como ya lo deben saber) amo el cerro con mi vida.

Fui hasta el final de la ciudad a recoger una carpa prestada donde pudiéramos estar cómodos, era una carpa para 5 personas, espaciosa para los equipajes y los que quisieran dormir en ella, Lisa fue a buscar también en otra esquina de la ciudad su saco de dormir, y cada uno de nosotros compró víveres que pudieran ser de utilidad para nuestra estadía en la montaña, la verdad todo estaba bastante bien planificado, la idea era lograr el ascenso el día sábado 11 a las 7:30 am.
I went to the end of the city to pick up a borrowed tent where we could be comfortable, it was a tent for 5 people, spacious for the luggage and those who wanted to sleep in it, Lisa went to look for her sleeping bag in another corner of the city too, and each of us bought food that could be useful for our stay in the mountain, the truth is that everything was pretty well planned, the idea was to achieve the ascent on Saturday 11 at 7:30 am.
Cuando llegamos a casa de Leo a las 7:30am todo fue caótico, Juan Pancho (uno de sus perros) se volvió loco ladrando y despertó a todos en la casa, lo llamamos mil veces para que saliera, pero no respondía el teléfono y asumimos que como es normal se había quedado dormido, entonces decidimos tocar el timbre y el perro en un concierto de ladridos prolongados a todo gañote terminó de avisar nuestra llegada, la casa de Luis tiene un portón grande de madera afuera que se puede abrir desde adentro de la casa, pero desde ese portón hasta la casa hay un tramo de unos 35 metros de jardín/estacionamiento perfectamente organizado.
When we arrived at Leos' house at 7:30am everything was chaotic, Jose Pancho (one of his dogs) went crazy barking and woke up everyone in the house, we called him a thousand times to come out, but he didn't answer the phone and we assumed that as usual he had fallen asleep, Then we decided to ring the bell and the dog in a concert of prolonged barking at full speed finished warning of our arrival, Leos' house has a large wooden gate outside that can be opened from inside the house, but from that gate to the house there is a stretch of about 35 meters of garden / parking perfectly organized.
Salió Leo en un ataque de ira vociferando y preguntando por que lo despertábamos si el había dicho que no íbamos a ir, resultó que la noche anterior a las 23:37 mandó un mensaje por nuestro chat grupal, diciendo que tenía alergia y que no íbamos a ir, canceló el plan unilateralmente. Sin dudar ni un segundo todos salimos a su casa sin importar el “preaviso“ porque todos queríamos subir y el era el único que conocía la ruta, pero su furia era incontenible, volvió a cerrar la puerta subió a su cuarto y siguió durmiendo, todos los demás nos quedamos fríos en el sitio porque teníamos una semana planificando el ascenso, Elías y Alan se encontraron el día anterior para salir sin perder tiempo al igual que Lisa y yo.
Leo went out in a fit of rage screaming and asking why were we waking him up if he had said we weren't going to go, it turned out that the night before at 11:37pm he sent a message through our group chat, saying that he had allergies and that we weren't going to go, he canceled the plan unilaterally. Without a hesitation we all went out to his house regardless of the "advance notice" because we all wanted to go up and he was the only one who knew the route, but his anger was uncontainable, he closed the door again went up to his room and continued sleeping, the rest of us stayed cold in the place because we had a week planning the climb, Elias and Alan met the day before to go out without wasting time just like Lisa and me.
Decidimos, en conjunto, que no íbamos a permitir que la malcriadez de Leo nos impidiera subir, así que empezamos a llamarlo insistentemente para que saliera a negociar con nosotros (él es un tipo de sueño sumamente pesado así que ya en este punto empezamos a dudar de si podríamos subir o no), en algún punto y por algún motivo, se levantó de la cama a hablar con nosotros y le aplicamos la clásica técnica venezolana llamada “jalabolismo agudo“, logrando convencerlo, después de 30 minutos de palabreo, de venir con nosotros; nuestro argumento fue que “Elías era asmático y alérgico grave y aún así, estaba subiendo y llevándose sus pastillas“, que dejara el show y empezáramos a subir.

Estaba realmente negado pero finalmente accedió, eso nos hizo perder mucho más tiempo porque claramente no tenía su equipaje listo ni nada por el estilo por lo que tuvimos que esperar que se pusiera en punto para salir, mientras tanto compartimos un poco, jugamos con Jose Pancho, nos reímos y tomamos algunas imágenes del punto de partida, íbamos tarde pero estábamos felices de haber logrado que todo el grupo se mantuviese unido.
He was really in denial but finally agreed, that made us lose much more time because clearly he didn't have his luggage ready or anything like that so we had to wait for him to get ready to leave, in the meantime we shared a little, played with Jose Pancho, laughed and took some pictures of the starting point, we were late but we were happy to have managed to keep the whole group together.
Cargamos nuestros bolsos y empezó el ascenso, la calle tenía una pendiente pronunciada para llegar hasta la entrada de la cota mil, y ahí nos encontramos con algunos amigos que venían riéndose y bajando de la montaña, al verlos tan alegres nos motivó la idea de seguir subiendo así que doblamos el paso.
We loaded our bags and began the ascent. The street had a steep incline to reach the entrance of the mountain, and there we met some friends who came laughing and coming down the mountain.
500 metros más adelante cuando estábamos a punto de entrar a la montaña, llego la patrulla asignada al comando de Cotiza de la Guardia Nacional, Comandada por un funcionario de apellido Chirivo, nos preguntaron que a donde íbamos, pero no hacía falta la pregunta, cargados con sendos bolsos, bolsas para dormir, carpas, comida, ropa de cambio, OBVIAMENTE nos dirigíamos a alguna zona de la montaña para acampar, el funcionario como cosa rara empezó su intervención con el clásico “cédula en mano todo el mundo“.

They asked us where we were going, but there was no need to ask, we were carrying bags, sleeping bags, tents, food, and clothes to change.
Inciso de derecho: En Venezuela, para poder apresarte se requiere el cumplimiento de ciertas formalidades al igual que en cualquier otro país del mundo. La Constitución establece en el artículo 44 los límites de la libertad individual, en consecuencia, ninguna persona puede ser detenida o arrestada sino en virtud de una orden judicial, a menos que sea sorprendida in fraganti, si llegase a ser detenida será llevada ante autoridad judicial en las siguientes 48 horas a la detención, toda persona detenida tendrá derecho de inmediatamente comunicarse con su abogado o personas de confianza, y esto solo en un artículo de la Constitución, lo que nos lleva al artículo 49 de la Carta Magna, donde se establece en el ordinal 6 que ninguna persona podrás ser sancionada por actos u omisiones que no fueren previstos como delitos, faltas o infracciones en leyes preexistentes, y al artículo 50 donde se establece el derecho al libre tránsito.

Si bien, todos entendemos claramente cual es la función de policías, y militares, suponiéndose que con ellos es con quien deberíamos estar seguros pues son los que se encargan de mantener la “paz“ y su actuar está regulado por normas claramente establecidas, cada vez que YO he sido víctima de los cuerpos de seguridad del Estado me he visto envuelto en situaciones que están fuera del debido proceso, retención de mi identidad, despojo de mis pertenencias, incriminación sin base, abuso de la fuerza, entre otros.
Although we all clearly understand what the role of the police and the military is, assuming that it is with them that we should be safe since they are the ones in charge of maintaining the "peace" and their actions are regulated by clearly established rules, every time I have been a victim of the State's security forces I have been involved in situations that are outside of due process, retention of my identity, dispossession of my belongings, unfounded incrimination, abuse of force, among others.
Recuerdo haber pensado “no joda otra vez“ (un poco harto) pero no todos pensaban igual, Elías, Alan y Lisa no tenían la misma perspectiva que yo, supuse que no se habían visto involucrados con la autoridad millones de veces o que si se habían involucrado en algún momento con ellos su experiencia había sido agradable, bueno, nos retuvieron 35 minutos en la entrada de la montaña a nivel de la Cota Mil mientras “realizaban las llamadas y la verificación de protocolo“, obviando que nos dijeron que estábamos siendo detenidos por incumplir la normativa de cuarentena y que podríamos ir presos por 45 días hábiles como mínimo, violando nuestro derecho al libre transito y al debido proceso; cuando terminó de transcurrir el tiempo (ya estábamos impacientes) llegó un machito verde oscuro identificado con el escudo del cuerpo de seguridad del Estado, nos montaron a todos en la camioneta y nos llevaron detenidos al comando de cotiza, vale recalcar que antes de salir de mi casa me puse mi protección, una que me dio el Taita Uauakallarij Jacanamijoy Tisoy, y una que me dio @auelitairene que solo uso para ocasiones como esa, un yacimiento de amatista que llevo colgado al cuello normalmente.
I remember thinking "don't fuck us up again" (a little bit fed up) but not everyone thought the same, Elias, Alan and Lisa didn't have the same perspective as me, I assumed that they hadn't been involved with authority a million times or that if they had been involved at some point with them their experience had been pleasant, well, They held us for 35 minutes at the entrance of the mountain at the level of Cota Mil (one of the main city's avenues) while they "made the calls and the protocol verification", ignoring that they told us that we were being detained for not complying with the quarantine regulations and that we could go to jail for at least 45 working days, violating our right to free transit and due process; When the time was up (we were already impatient) a dark green van identified with the shield of the State Security Corps arrived, they put us all in and took us to the Quotation Command, it is worth emphasizing that before leaving my house I put on my protection, one that was given to me by the Taita Uauakallarij Jacanamijoy Tisoy, and one that was given to me by @auelitairene that I only use for occasions like that, an amethyst deposit that I normally wear around my neck.

Llegamos al comando de Cotiza y nos pasaron a un espacio abierto, pusimos todos nuestros bolsos en el piso, y (dejando de lado todas las violaciones al proceso que habíamos sufrido hasta ese momento, detención sin motivo aparente, falta de legislación que respalde el procedimiento y que íbamos a pasar a continuación) empezaron a comentarnos sobre el nuevo decreto de la Asamblea Nacional Constituyente, que “autoriza“ a la Guardia Nacional Bolivariana a realizar ese tipo de detenciones arbitrarias y además que podía culminar el proceso con privación de libertad como mínimo de 45 días hábiles (jajaja).
We arrived at the Cotiza command and they moved us to an open space, we put all our bags on the floor, and (leaving aside all the violations to the process that we had suffered up to that moment, detention without apparent reason, lack of legislation to support the procedure and that we were going to go through next) they began to comment to us about the new decree from the National Constituent Assembly, which "authorizes" the Bolivarian National Guard to carry out this type of arbitrary detention and also that it could end the process with a minimum of 45 working days' imprisonment (hahaha).
En mi experiencia personal y única, si estás en Venezuela y un policía te detiene por cualquier motivo así sea porque tienes un bombillo malo y no te dice que te puede meter preso no estás en Venezuela, me ha pasado por lo menos 1000 veces, se pueden inventar lo que sea con tal de sembrarte el miedo que requieren para que tu “colabores voluntariamente“, en fin, lo extraño de todo (PARA MI) es que no estaban buscando robarnos nada, no nos quitaron los teléfonos, los zapatos o nuestros objetos de valor, es por eso que pienso que la protección es algo mucho, MUCHO, más grande que nuestro entendimiento.

Estuvimos detenidos desde las 11 am, a las 12 empezaron los problemas, los demás que nunca habían sido detenidos de esta forma irregular, a excepción de Leo y yo que hemos estado múltiples veces en esa situación juntos, los demás empezaron a preocuparse a llamar gente, a buscar quien pudiera rescatarlos, Leo y yo sabíamos que era cuestión de desgaste y se los dejamos saber a los demás pues si queríamos irnos al momento íbamos a tener que darle dinero a cada funcionario desde donde nos tenían reclusos hasta salir de lugar, y obviamente prefiero cualquier cosa antes que darle un centavo a esos tipos, pasaron las horas y nos comimos todos los insumos que teníamos para subir al Ávila, a golpe de 15:30 Lisa empezó a fingir un ataque de pánico para ver si aceleraban un poco nuestra salida del precinto, y en efecto logró que nos soltaran una hora antes, nos dejaron ir a las 16:30 pero nos confesaron que planeaban dejarnos presos hasta las 18:00, después de todo el día nos fuimos, y así culmina nuestra aventura con unos funcionarios que recurrentemente abusan del poder en que están investidos, nos hicieron firmar un acta de que no sufrimos daño (como en efecto fue) y nos dejaron sueltos a pie y sin dinero en San Bernardino, tuvimos que llamar a una amiga para que fuera a buscarnos porque ahí el riesgo sí que era real.
We were detained from 11 am, at 12 the problems began, the others who had never been detained in this irregular way, except for Leo and I who had been in this situation many times together, the others began to worry about calling people, looking for someone who could rescue them, Leo and I knew it was a matter of wear and tear and we let the others know because if we wanted to leave right away we were going to have to give money to every officer from where they were holding us until we left the place, and obviously I prefer anything to giving a penny to those guys, the hours went by and we ate all the supplies we had to go up to the Avila, at the stroke of 15:30 Lisa started to fake a panic attack to see if they would speed up our departure from the precinct a little bit, and in fact she managed to get us released an hour earlier, they let us go at 4:30 pm but they confessed that they planned to keep us in jail until 6 pm, after the whole day we left, and this is the end of our adventure with some officials who repeatedly abuse the power in which they are invested, they made us sign a document that we were not harmed (as it was in fact) and they left us loose on foot and without money in San Bernardino, we had to call a friend to come and get us because there the risk was real.
¿Por que se incumple el proceso en una situación como ésta? Bueno primeramente un decreto de la asamblea NO es una ley formal que cumplió con todos los requisitos para su entrada en vigencia, y los delitos solo se pueden establecer en leyes de éste tipo, si existe una prohibición para el libre tránsito no es más que eso, una prohibición, no hay delito que configure y se pueda apresar o privar de libertad a nadie sin un debido juicio y la valoración cierta de los tipos penales en cuestión, por ende, se puede decir de que aunque no hubo violencia y forcejeo fuimos secuestrados por la policía despojados de nuestra documentación de identidad que también fue retenida, y apresados todo el día sin un proceso adecuado, y esto a la luz de la arbitrariedad de los guardias nacionales que nos vieron pasar.

Ahí no termina la historia, este es el momento en que pienso que la protección está por encima de todo, en nuestra detención planificábamos nuestra salida para ver si podíamos subir por otro lado, pero estábamos anímicamente golpeados y nos habíamos comido todo así que decidimos regresar a casa de Leo a tomarnos un ron y estar tranquilos después de ese terrible día, pues resulta ser que a las 3 am Leo tuvo que irse de emergencia con Elías a la clínica pues empezó a sufrir de la vesícula, resultó que sufre de cálculo y justamente ese día en la noche explotó la enfermedad, tuvieron que darle calmantes por el agudo dolor que sentía y está de baja todavía, la semana que viene es su operación.
That's not the end of the story, this is the moment when I think that protection is above all else, in our detention we were planning our departure to see if we could go up the other side, but we were psychologically beaten up and had eaten everything so we decided to go back to Leo's house to have some rum and be calm after that terrible day, It turns out that at 3am Leo had to go to the emergency room with Elias because he began to suffer from gallbladder, it turned out that he suffers from calculus and just that day at night the disease exploded, they had to give him painkillers for the acute pain he felt and he is still on leave, next week is his operation.
Si hubiéramos subido, habría sido dramático el resultado, pero si los policías no nos hubieran retenido hasta esa hora o hubiesen aceptado cualquier soborno (ambas cosas terribles) nuestro destino sería incierto, y con ésta historia quiero participar en el ADIWA CHALLENGE, adiwa para mí significa bendiciones, buenas vibras e incluso protección, Adiwa a lo que paso y adiwa a como se desenvuelve el destino de forma inesperada, realmente considero que ésta protección ancestral permitió que todo sucediera como sucedió, y estoy agradecido porque sé que bien sea del Putumayo, de Cumaná o de Alto Carinagua el maestro siempre está protegiéndonos, solo hay que creer en él y que su energía nos guía hacia un futuro que mejora segundo a segundo.

Muy interesante tu historia bro. Me hiciste transportarme a Venezuela en muchos de los inventos con mis amigos (esos planes que salían en medio de una reunión, al día siguiente y contra todo pronóstico y que por Adiwa salían bien pero en medio de muchas tribulaciones).
