Many years ago I introduced you to this handsome boy, Eddie. He's been a very important part of our lives for the last 9 years. He's the most beautiful, gentle little soul.
Over the years we've had lots of adventures.
We also had lots of cosy lazy days at home together.
And walks.
Recently, life hasn't been too easy for Eddie. The arthritic pains of old age had caught up, and due to some cancerous lumps he had to have one of his beautiful pointy ears removed in July. Like a little trooper he carried on though, loving life, loving his family, and loving daylong naps in the winter sunshine.
The last two weeks were especially hard for him. The lumps came back with a vengeance and he went downhill fast. Today I held him as he took that journey across the rainbow bridge. My heart is broken, but he's no longer in pain.

I feel your pain. People that never had dogs can't imagine how quiet it suddenly is without the footsteps accompanying every movement of you. Stay strong and think of the happy days you had!

No, they don't get easier do they? I've been a bit of a mess today, missing him like crazy. But it's still so worth it for the love and companionship they bring to our lives ❤
