Most Of What You Think About Yourself Is Not You

in #philosophy4 years ago

In this world we are defined by what society wants us to be and what it says you are.

Without a mirror you would not even be able to see yourself.

In the same way a tree falling makes no sound unless there is someone or something to hear it, you would not exist without a world to exist within.

If you are young it is only because there are older people in your world.

If you are a tall person you would not be tall without a shorter person to compare yourself to.

Our living experience is limited to what we can deduce from our five senses, this would imply there maybe more to us than we can see, hear, smell or touch.

We are told as children how to behave and what constitutes normal behaviour.

Maybe the aspect of ourselves which is unseen is our real self that has merely assumed the role of an actor in the drama of life.

In this case everyone plays their part and show goes on to rapturous applause.

We are shaped by society by the things that are around us so if we live in a divine place we would like be the Angles of God @bleepcoin :D

Exactly correct sir, we are all aspects of the divine seeking itself.
