Keeping It Simple

Sometimes the most difficult thing to do is to simplify what we do in life. It’s strange, because simplicity is supposed to feel light, but we often make things heavier than they need to be. Maybe we complicate life because it gives us a sense of control, or because we think the “harder” path is always the more meaningful one. But if we can complicate things, that means we can also reverse it. It really depends on the decisions we make and the actions we take afterwards.

For me, taking photos is simple. I don’t overthink it too much. When I see a beautiful subject, I simply take the shot. That’s it. I let the moment speak first before my thoughts get in the way. Sometimes the angle and the lighting work perfectly—like the flower standing out against the darker leaves, or the soft glow around a petal that makes it feel almost delicate. Other times it doesn’t work at all, and the frame feels off. But that doesn’t stop me from taking photos.

I think that’s the part I’ve learned to appreciate: consistency without pressure. Not every photo has to be “the best.” Not every day has to be perfect. You show up, you try, you capture what you can, and you keep moving. Even the small shots matter, because they are proof that you noticed something, and that you allowed yourself to pause for it.

Maybe that’s what simplicity looks like in real life. It’s not doing less just for the sake of it. It’s choosing what matters and repeating it with intention. One walk. One photo. One moment at a time.

I just keep doing it.

Have a good day ahead.
