As you already know, we spent the last week of our vacation in Slovenia. It's a tiny country and you can see a different landscape and climate types in a small area. Nature there is wild and amazing.
In today's post, I'll show you the northwestern mountainous part of Slovenia.
In commercials, we like to call it On the sunny side of the Alps.

If you avoid Highways and you not afraid of narrow winding roads on your journey, you can see many villages like this one.
This miniature hey stack is part of traditional farming and heritage. Nowadays more like an attraction than of a real use.
You can still find a lot of stuff from First World War in the public and private Museums and on the fields and mountains. The hidden cavern is just one of examples.
Wild spring creek.
No chlorine, I can guarantee.
Young Tilia branches with their shiny leaves growing from the tree trunk.
Churches in the mountains are not as spectacular as in Barcelona but they serve the same purpose and people always find shelter for their bodies and souls at hard times in their life.
This is how the street sign looks like in the mountain crossroad.
The flock of sheep is happy about spring arrival, and blooming apple tree in the background is a perfect match for a good photo.
Cheesemaking is centuries old tradition here and the stables still serve their purpose. It's nice to see they preserve tradition and built the new ones in the same way as old.
The mountain on the left, with the most snow on top of it, is called Krn, the same as the village on the photo. This is the view from the South.

After all day hiking, we needed to replenish our dehydrated bodies with some fresh electrolytes. The bottle of the famous brand of Slovenian beer was more than capable of doing that.
Well, if I want to be honest, just one bottle was not quite enough.

Slovenia is really a beautiful place and with this green environment. This should be the perfect place for relaxation. That beer is enough to cool off

Literally speaking, if we call it the green world that will not be wrong, and definitely speaking these type of places sometimes reflects as dream world and people who live there reflects as blessed because they are really close to nature and they can admire all the time nature's beauty. And i really liked the idea of stone signs which gives so natural and ancient techniques. I hope that people who live hear they spend their days like an festival. Beautiful country
I drove through Slovenia a few weeks ago. I saw beautiful landscapes, amazing villages. Unfortunately, I was on the motorway and I couldn't stop to take some photos... Now I'm really disappointed and I envy you for your excellent images! Next time I will skip the motorways for sure!

The first shot with the guardrail overlooking the beautiful green valley is perfect... I think Gaudi's curves influenced your framing here! Such a rich landscape and amazing mountains... I think Slovenia is a well kept secret... I really like the street signs too!
Haha, I don't know why, but a fresh air and Laško beer seems like a winning combination on the sunny side of the Alps. When you used that phrase I instantly remembered this great parody video (about Slovenian culture):

This look like a perfect day out! We went to Slovenia a year ago and absolutely loved it, in fact its our favourite place we have been. I can't wait to get bad there!! Maybe next time take a few more beers too hahaha!

In the western part similar to Italian, the rest of the country more like Germany or northern Europe. But also a lot of typical local food.
