Golden Hour: sunset over snowy suburbs of Opava

in #photography3 years ago

Hi there my Hivean friends and followers!

Can you believe it´s Sunday again? Time really flies and I am here with another contribution to my regular Golden Hour photography series where I share sunset pictures with you. Today, I am coming with a very fresh shot that was taken just about one hour ago.

I took it while walking around the suburbs of my Czech hometown of Opava. As you can see in the picture, the fields are covered with fresh snow that fell last night. In the downtown, the snow has already melted away almost completely as it was quite warm during the day but here in the outskirts, you can still find some nice white blanket. Talking about snow, I am currently working on a pretty large photo collection dedicated to snowy Krakow so stay tuned for more winter shots, I will probably post it here on my blog on Tuesday ;)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone and have a great start to the new week tomorrow.

Great to see Opava. I spent some time there in early 1980s. I still remember a lot. Very nice city. I was surprised to find a chapel with stained glasses by Józef Mehoffer in the cemetary there.

Oh really? That´s nice, I am glad you enjoyed your stay here :) Opava boasts amazing architecture. Too bad the city was damaged significantly during the WWII bombing, many architectural gems were destroyed completely...

Opava looks like a very nice place :)

Well you cannot really see much of it from this particular shot but yeah, it´s a beautiful town with a long and famous history :) The downtown is very nice with many impressive pieces of architecture. Btw just checking your Veliko Tarnovo and it looks amazing... The streets are so picturesque :)

!BEER I know that you also have your football club Opava, playing in the first divison.. :)

Wow, you must have a very good knowledge of football because our team is not very famous outside of the country :D Yes, we are currently in the highest league but probably not for much longer, unfortunately :D :( But we, the fans, don´t care - we are very loyal and support our team no matter what league we play. Here is a picture of our fans supporting the team in the final of the Czech Football Cup a few years ago ;)

I am following almost every championship in top 10/15 in Europe :) The romance in the fans stand in teams like yours is way better than watching United or whatever on the TV..

I love this atmosphere.. It is almost like in Bulgaria.. without the pyro of course 💣

Exactly my friend, exactly... I was never really a fan of any of those big clubs like ManU, Barca, Bayern etc. Just supporting my hometown club since I was a kid ;) Btw we can create even much better atmosphere on the stadium than this one from the video, especially when a lot of our brothers from Slask Wroclaw arrive to help ;) As for pyro, it´s more complicated now because the football association punishes the clubs for that. So there is much less pyro on the Czech stadiums than before. How is the situation in Bulgaria?

Well, there is also a fine here -> Bulgarian Union is punishing with only 300 leva/ 150 euro for pyro shows:) And some bans for the fans of course, but usually in the derby matchs it looks like this:

This is the biggest club in Bulgaria, Levski :) But the small teams fans also are using pyro :) I should say that the atmosphere is very different when the fans are fanatics ;) Singing like one!

I love this photo. The golden sunset is beautiful. They indicate the end of a day but there is hope for a new dawn.

A respectful and virtual hug ♥
