Just take a walk

Finding relaxing activities in 2020 is a challenge in itself. Everything I did to let steam off in 2019 is somehow more or less out of reach: going to grab a coffee after Pilates class in the city center; enjoying a random movie in the niche film theater I have an unlimited membership for and often just walk in unplanned not knowing which movie I'll watch; meeting up with a friend for lunch or dinner and chat about whatever we did that day; just hang with mom and hug my parents while eating pulled pork my dad made on his fancy Big Green Egg; going to my course on the art of felting.

Most activities have been replaced online and even though I've started an exciting new studies on health I've never met my teacher and fellow students face-to-face which leads to a little less bonding - something I did some online research for earlier this year. Psychological distance is real and we'll have to be creative if we want/need to continue our online education in the foreseeable future.

So, then, when I finally see my parents in law again and we go for a walk in order to limit the 'in-house time' and I walk a little further than I would when I do when I'm alone and see some plants that are part of the winter landscape I grab my phone camera and take a few snapshots. Because it's probably the most exciting walk I've done for a while and I need not forget I can create anywhere and from everything.

At home I can, today, while recovering from the walk yesterday, sit on the couch, look back at the pictures, pick one and recreate that one pic in several little artworks for our little blockchain. I feel relaxed while doing it. The geometry coming from that one photograph is splendid - and hmmm, maybe they even inspire me for some felt work I want to do later this week. Wait, why not make a post on Hive which I'm neglecting so severely and enjoy a casual post like I used to do so often and carelessly in 2018/19?

How one walk can have a ripple effect throughout the week, right? Maybe you should take a walk too. And tell me what you saw. Or thought. Or felt. Or... Whatever.

Just take a walk and let the effects influence the rest of your week.
Sincerely,
Your favourite Blockchain Guru

not going on a walk, we have winds up to 70-80km/h for few days now :)

Why wouldn't you go for a walk with a little wind? :D
Greetings from the Netherlands, aka Land of the Wind.

looks like we are more a like, they are building this things here and they are planning to build bunch more. And i am not that affected in summer, but when winter starts i am a bit more bothered :D

Haha! Wind Mills! Yes, now you're definitely starting to look a lot more like The Netherlands, but the lack of mountains over here will always tell which country is which :D

Well, in summer I never go to the coast, but in winter I go to the coast when the wind blows hardest :D I love having that 'fight' with the wind and go for a cup of hot coffee/chocolate afterwards in one of the many open (!) beach houses that are such part of our coastal experience in winter :D

Obviously you ARE my favorite blockchain Guru! I did take a walk and I'm going to post about it too! The only real ripple I've seen so far is in my legs. It was a hard walk :)

The photos are just spectacular. That certainly hasn't changed with you!

Good to see you my friend!

Haha! Good to see that you felt some ripples! A little sign of 'being alive', you know? Good for you :D

Thanks dear Tom, so happy to see you!

Damn, so true. Good thing i got myself a dog this year :) So plenty of walking in the nature, just the two of us :)

Oh, that's a great decision! Dogs can be a truly healthy choice - not just for the walking aspect, but there's a 'dog receptive' part of our brain (not for cats for example), so they can be true friends to us helping us feel better :-) Enjoy your many walks! The dog won't let you skip them :D

Wow I am loving these cool pictures, you are right the geometry is awesome. Yay for walks too!

Well I did manage to take a relaxing walk (after a long time) and I did manage to write a casual post to hive (after a long time) and I see that even if our surrounding and our daily routine are completely different, some things are the same!

Amazing what you did with that one photo, but you already know that :)

Cheers!
