Jhene Aiko... The Power Behind Her Voice

in #poetry6 years ago

I have posted a few times on the great Jhene Aiko, and her ability to sing, and marinate her fans hearts is what has captivated me, and has me diving into all her songs.

From her music to her interviews, she does it all with such grace, and class. I am a huge fan of this beautiful, soulful spirited artist. Her ability to capture love, pain, hate, hurt, and happiness in her albums is a form of time traveling for me.

As the music plays, her voice catches tempo, she takes you on a journey to feel and visualize the matter at hand. She is an underrated wordsmith who hasn't quite been acknowledged for the messages of peace, love, and happiness from her recent albums.

In her most recent album, " Trip " she has a song titled " Jukai " where she describes the world in such a vivid manner. Her flowetry is in so many ways, magical.

Wouldn't you believe
Hell is not a place
Hell is not a certain evil
Hell is other people
Or the lack thereof
And their lack of love
And their lack of love
I tried, but my feet kept touchin' the ground (touch the ground)
If I died, would it even make a sound in the sea of trees? (sea of trees)
No need to bother lookin' for me
Don't come, don't come, don't come searchin' for me
You don't get to die until you get it right, you said
I envy the dead, yeah

A little bit of the song Jukai, which I hope you all listen to, and soon follow as well. She, in the year 2017 has taught me so much about love, and learning to be at peace within yourself. I have not yet mastered this art, but I have managed to push myself to practice it in my everyday life.

()

I would to end the year by thanking one of the greats walking amongst this earth for teaching me so much about peace, love, and happiness.

Happy New Year to everyone in the steemit community, and many thanks and love to the great Jhene Aiko.

The song Jukai is down below.

She's really good @joseph

@pappy, She is truly a great soul. She collaborated with Childish Gambino in a very awesome track.

Title? @joseph I just followed you, you should follow back

Interesting song lyrics.

My view (for what its worth): Heaven and hell are just metaphors for what people think of you (typically, once there's no longer anything you can do to change people's views ie. when you're dead).

For example, the vast majority of sane people absolutely detest what Adolf Hitler did. Therefore, you could say he's 'in hell'.

Gandhi, by comparison, was probably the coolest public figure I can think of. Hardly perfect, but brilliant all the same. Lots love Gandhi, so we can say he's in heaven.

Now, to try to get their children to behave like good little boys and girls, parents might tell their children if they're good, they'll go to heaven and if they're not, they'll end up in hell.

Ideally, the child then grows up to be a kind human being who behaves ethically whenever able to.

Ultimately, with them both likely merely being metaphorical nonsense, you're free to live your life as you choose (though beware enforcers of the law). Because, ultimately, when you're dead, you're dead. You're no more and you need never worry about giving a rat's arse as to how people view your life once you're dead. Because in death, you should be past caring what others think of you. :) Edit: If you should have children, they can complicate the issue. It'd be hard not worrying that people might hate them through their association with your good self. But still, you'll be oblivious to how they're treated, once you're deceased, all the same.

i like these type of melodies, very sweet your voice, continue

She is an angle and her voice is thunder talking to the world i love her voice .

My favourite female artists. I love her to stupor. Wish she will come to Nigeria someday

She really sing so beautifully as if she has been touched by God and yes, she has. Happy new year. Enjoy a smooth ride.

Amazing and breathtaking powerful message. Those lyrics have a lot of substance in them. Not only because of the wise implications, but because, as thought provoking as they are, there is in them philosophy history. "Hell is other people", comes from the french existencialist Jean Paul Sartre. The thought of dying alone between the trees, to doubt one's own existence, or the reality of this one in relationship to the rest of consciousness, comes from the empirist David Hume, whos theory of perception is a classic among others.

Have a great day.
