When you help someone do you ever think, “What’s in it for me?”

Oh great one more question to answer where the outcome will show that we are all monsters deep inside! ((Kidding, or maybe not!)) While I love answering these questions they also kinda annoy me at times. Why do I stick to answering them? Well, because I do like to poke myself in the eyes at times to make me focus again! Is there not something they say about that? The most important things you sometimes have to do are not fun? Having a close-up look at yourself is not always fun but that fact that you learn so much from it is what matters most!
Back to the question. I wish I could say that I never had a thought like that but in the past and at times it still happens that I catch myself at thinking, what's in it for me! Now comes the tricky part! Do I act upon the thought that pops up in my mind or do I tell myself what I can do differently? The moment I catch myself having these kinds of thoughts I whack myself over the head with a frozen tuna and trust me that is not an easy thing to do! A frozen tuna is fucking heavy! Anyways, I stop myself and change the question in my head to something different! Do I want to help this person or am I only doing this to help myself? Because if I do it for myself I don't want to do it! Lucky for me, my brain is able to understand me ((Halleluuujaaaaa)) and I can snap myself out of the selfish mode it entered.
So, my answer to this question is YES, I do sometimes think this way but I don't act upon it! Honesty first right? And don't think that you are a bad person for having these thoughts either. Our brain is wired to think things like this because of the world we live in! It's what you do and how you act upon things that matter! You rock, no matter what! You deserve to shine, no matter the darkness in the world! But when it comes to helping another soul, you should put yourself at hold. At least that is my 4 cents! Yes, I know it's 2 cents but I like 4 better so....((Giggles and winks!))
I do sometimes think "what's in it for me" when I help someone. But I often help people even if I get no benefit from it. I mostly feel indebted to people who help me and I feel compelled to reciprocate.

sometimes, I do ask myself when I'm about doing something for someone most especially if that person have wrong me. But I later realised that all we ever had was giving to us free even thought we had thought, I do work for it. How about those that toil day and night with little or nothing to show for it. Didn't they too work?
We should be grateful and be willing to assist with good heart whether we receive help or not. And I will say there is no way you will never for once receive help. It might not just come from people we looked unto but all I know is that helper always shows, one way or the other.
I help others with sincerity without wishing for anything to be given a profit, because I only hope for reward in every help I have for others
as social beings, of course we need to help each other, I never thought there would be a profit
I am happy to be able to help others, because God must like it
no, I don't expect profits with my help to others
surely we can still help each other
No one should leave his neighbor when he is in trouble. Everyone is obliged to help and support his neighbor if he wants to be helped himself in his misfortune.
religion strongly encourages its people to help each other and not expect profits
I think it is a good thing to consider what's in it for me.
We have to set up win/win situations.
Sometimes what is in it for me is ... the feel good I get from helping.
Sometimes what is in it for me is... Your success is my success.
I personally see no problem with considering what is in it for me.
In addition sometimes when I decide there is nothing in it for me. I do the thing anyway. That's what great about being human.
I actually dont usually think "what's in it for me" but I almost always feel annoyed when im asked to do favors for someone ahahaha. I often get annoyed at even the most slight inconvenience lol

When I help someone I never expect there to be a profit for me. I did it according to my religion's instructions. In my religion, it is explained that if we like to help someone, we will get heaven in the hereafter.
