Welcome to the Qurator Tiers update!
As a member of @qurator we already know you post original content and we fully support original quality content, especially from minnows. We send out daily upvotes to all our Qurites if they post, but if they show some participation or invest in @qurator we feel they deserve some better rewards from @qurator. That's where Tiers come in. Below you will find all the members of @qurator and their respective tiers.
Subscription Details:
We are currently accepting the Steem for the monthly subscriptions (a more detailed post will be featured this week).
Send Steem for Tier 1 and 2 to @qurator with this memo:
For Tier 1 : 1 Steem - memo SUB 1 JUL
For Tier 2 : 2 Steem - memo SUB 2 JUL
Paying in advance:
Multiply the fee for the Tier you want by the amount of months and send in one transfer:
Example:
- for 3 months on T2: send 6 steem - memo: SUB 2 SEP
- for 2 months on T1: send 2 steem - memo: SUB 1 AUG
Please remember to pay the subscription before the start of the month.
- Tier 1
Upvote 7 times a week on any @qurator posts with a minimum upvote of at least $0.03 OR pay 1 Steem per month subscription.
- Tier 2
Upvote 7 times a week on any @qurator posts with a minimum upvote of at least $0.05 OR pay the 2 Steem per month subscription.
What about all the members who don't have a $0.03 upvote yet?
We have not forgotten about our minnows and we will still be offering a higher tier if they choose to support Qurator.
Upvote a minimum of 7 posts per week at 100% and still get placed in Tier 1 instead of Tier 0.
This way everyone has the option to go the upvote or subscription route for higher Tiers.
Everything else still stays the same, Tiers still stack with delegations and you can still access T1 and T2 for 100 and 200 SP delegations.
Note: You can stack to Tier 2 if your upvote is currently worth $0.03 (T1) and you pay the 1 steem (T1) ie: T1 + T1 = T2
New member bonus!
Since new members pay the 4 Steem registration fee, we will be offering them T2 membership for a full month to enjoy upon registration. This should help them get some of the funds back from what they spent for the registration fee.
If you want to support Qurator more we suggest delegating or upvoting our Daily Qurator posts. This can be automated with Steemvoter (guide to set up a Steemvoter account HERE.

What if I upvote and delegate?
YES, delegations and upvotes stack.
Example: Delegating 300SP and upvoting the Daily Qurator 7+ time a week ($0.05) will place you in a T5 membership slot.
When do we count the upvote?
We count the upvotes on the posts of the past week every Monday at 12PM UTC time. If you swing by before then and get your 7 upvotes in you will secure your Tier for the upcoming Tier update.

Qurator Selfvote
Our account is now big enough that a selfvote will make a big difference in the long run. Most of our profits go towards leases and our members. With our selfvote and we can show extra support later on to all our members. We will do the upvotes near the end of our post payout to ensure all our members upvoting us will get some extra curation in. ;)
Mutual Project support
We have formed and alliance with the Silver Gold Community. @silvergoldbotty will be upvoting one @qurator post a day and we will be upvoting one @silvergoldbotty post a day. The reasoning behind it is that we will be able to generate more SBD per week and with more SBD we will be able to better keep up with our leases as well getting some new ones. Thus, even though the voting weight will decrease the actual value of the votes will increase since we will have more SP later on. =)
If this goes well we will look into mutual support between other projects as well.

We have had a drop, but hopefully in the future prices will increase. Qurator is anticipating and preparing for the coming SMT's which will likely increase STEEM prices a lot. Bear with us through the storm Qurites. This price drop wont get us down. We will continue steeming on and supporting our members as much as we can!
We passed 1400 members! Whoohoo! Qurator is grateful and extremely proud of all of you awesome Qurites! We are seeing some SP decrease with delegations, but the higher upvote percentages balance out the rewards. Climb those Tiers! =)

would it be possible to change the algorithm to decide the tier on the total upvote per week so that with the value drops you don't drop out of your tier because 1 upvote just didn't make it to the required level anymore? That way we would be able to compensate in the next upvotes to make up for the low upvote.
I agree with you, because of the drop in Steem price, the vote value dropped below required one even with 100% vote and I am into lower tier now. Hope someone have a check on that.
Yes, the lower numbers are quite a pain. We will see to adjust them in the next update to help out while the steem price is this low... Upgraded you to T2. =)
We will look into this, the recent price decrease we are all seeing some low upvote values. Let's hope some larger rates are coming soon. See you upvoted more than your 7 for the week, will upgrade you to T2. =)

One a day will do, we pull the data for our counts on MONDAY 12PM UTC time. Then we collect the data from the posts that did not reach payout yet. We are adjusting the way we calculate to count the total value of upvotes instead of just the 7 upvotes. So 7x0.05 or 7+ which will add up to 7x0.05. While the price is so low now. =)

I have a question about the numbers for Tier 5 when upvoting the daily qurator post and delegating 300SP. Are these correct, or did I make a mistake somewhere ?
Hello, I don't quite know where this number
Daily Upvote Cost =0.358$comes from.This is my calculation:
Daily upvote received 0.41 -> 0.31 (after curation) x7 = 2.15 a week
Daily upvote cost 0.05 -> 0.04 (after curation) x 7 = 0.26 a week
Adding 300 sp delegation (currently 100% upvote for this amount is worth 0.03), I don't think it's that bad :)
Thanks for the reply, 0.358$ comes from (0.038$ + 0.32$)
0.05$ (-25% curation) = 0.038$
300SP for 1 day potentially gives 0.32$ worth of self upvotes (1 x100% upvote every 2.4hours and no curation gets substracted)
I'm not complaing by the way, I just try to break down the numbers the way they are. I do think it's a huge problem for steemit that self-voting is often by far the best thing that can be done. Even a great project like @qurator seems to be giving a loss compared to just doing self voting. (I would have to go through the numbers for the other options, but 7x 0.05$ upvote + 300SP delegation right now very much feels like using an upvote bid bot where 0.358$ gives back 0.31$)
I'd like to add a bit to your calc and that is if you are self-voting 10 times a day you would need to selfvote either 10 posts or a lot of comments. Now it is possible to generate 10 spamlike comments a day but I have seen a lot of those flagged. Your calcs assume a 0% flag probability.
Part of the goal of the project is to allow bloggers to blog. You only need 1 quality post to get almost the same value as 10 shitposts. The only reason we cannot beat the strategy is because of market conditions. Our expenses are sticky, our income is not.
The 10x self upvote rule I use is mainly a way to calculate what something is worth. You do have a valid point that potential falgs are not into the probabilities, this is mainly an issue with bigger accounts and even those have plenty of way to do indirect self-upvoting (circel jerk upvote for upvote)
I do appreciate @qurator and what it's doing and there is a huge need for projects like this that allow real bloggers to blog regardless if their subject of interest is popular on steemt and get some guaranteed daily upvotes for it. It would be nice to see some support and delegation from the devs to @qurator you guys would really deserve that and it would highly benefit the steemit platform with all the members that are being carried
In case someone has 300 SP (or any other amount) in an account and ONLY upvoting themselves 10 times a day with 100% then you are right. Then it is better to keep it and do not delegate anywhere, do not upvote anyone just selfvote the hell out of the 300 SP I guess :p
Not something I would do or recommend. But it is always a choice of the SP owner.
Just to clarify. Qurator didn't switch to a monthly paid model. We added the option for members that cannot delegate, but would like to be on higher Tier ;)

Hi, the Steem drop is a bit of a bummer and since the Tiers are calculated automatically, yours droped.
But no worries, we will put you back on T5.
There will be an extra upvote calculation starting next week to help with those price drops. It will help keeping the higher Tier :)
