Lazy cabbage rolls : An unusual and simple variation of all known cabbage rolls.
Ingredients
- ½ average head of cabbage;
- 450 g of ground beef;
- 450 g of turkey ground meat;
- 700 grams of boiled rice at room temperature;
- 1 large head of onions;
- 2 large eggs;
- salt - to taste;
- ground black pepper - to taste;
- a few twigs of parsley or dill;
- a little vegetable oil;
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil;
- 50 g of butter;
- 1 large carrot;
- 200 ml of marinara sauce;
- 700 ml of hot water.
Preparation
Slice the cabbage in small thin strips, removing the cob. Put into boiling water and cook for 10 minutes. Then drain and squeeze out excess liquid.
In a large bowl, mix the minced meat, cabbage, rice, half chopped onions, eggs, spices (to your taste) and chopped greens. Mix well, blend the balls and put them into a deep baking dish, oiled.
Heat olive oil in a frying pan and melt butter. Fry the remaining onions on it, add grated carrots and cook for 3 more minutes until it softens. Add marinara and hot water. Bring to a boil and season with spices.
Pour sauce on lazy cabbage rolls. Cover the form with foil and place in oven preheated to 220 ° C for 40 minutes.
