So I put my August running stats into Claude and it came back and told me my Park Runs are too fast to be proper 'base' runs.
My other runs are all fine - being mid 130s for the runs, but with the Park Run I go up to 145 BPM - as Claude said - quite a HR increase for no meaningful pace increase...
So I am gonna have to run the Park Runs even slower if I'm doing a base run, no worries, I am just getting used to this!
That said my last Park Run was as a tourist so I was happy enough doing it slow...
Queenswood Park Run
- A beautiful day and hilly, had a friend to chat to for the first few hundred meters but then had to up it a bit... still took it quite easy!

26 August...
Headed out for a classic mid week work run, nice and easy - up hills!

28 August...
Knowing I was not going to be able to do the Park Run this week I headed out for a Friday run - this'll be my 8K slot on a Thursday I think next week!

Next weeks plans
Need to get in a teeny Octopus session but that's about it, otherwise just two to three easy base runs again, one of them longer at 8K.
I am getting a little bored of the slow pace, time to look at what the build phase is all about!
parkrun is my weekly time trial so I'm going to push and it should be my quickest of the week. I've had someone else sat they use AI to analyse their runs. Strava does some of that, but I'm going by what advice I see from humans. I just mix up my runs and hope for improving.
I'll let you know how the base-build-race phase goes, in November!

I am gearing up to attempt to work some exercising into my daily routine (again). Got some painting and minor repairs around the house to do first. I got a few machines here, treadmill, stepper and others. I might jump on one of them tomorrow for a short burst to get ready for the full work-out a week or two down the road. Good job to you for sticking with it.
