Requirements:
- A smart lightbulb
- A motion/vibration sensor
Step 1: Find a sensor that can detect movement in the room. Since the room is small and used only for working, I've used a vibration sensor for the chair. A motion sensor would be also okay.

Step 2: Create an automation rule to trigger lights when movement is detected.

Step 3: Start working on your chair and enjoy the auto-trigger of your lights:

Of course, this post is not a tutorial and missing lots of details. If you have any questions let me know in the comments.
My current smart home setup:
Hue & Tradfiri products for smart lightning and smart switches
Tado for heating
Hue/Aqara sensors to automate lightning based on movement/occupancy
Aqara sensors to monitor window/door states
Xiaomi products for robot vacuum, air purifier.
Conbee to manage Ikea/Aqara
Outdoor/indoor cameras in various places with Logitech Circle and Xiaomi cameras.
Looks neat, what app and sensors are you using ?
😂
The sensor is aqara vibration sensor, and the app is iOS home app. I use aqara products with a custom zigbee gateway (conbee/deconz). It also has some automation options.
I prefer home app though. I can manage everything in one place.
Thanks, very cool - home automation is on my todo list for sure
Well, a friendly warning though, once you start there is no going back. You keep buying different sorts of smart things every week once you start.

Thanks, I'll check next time.
Cool stuff. I've been trying to write a post on my home automation setup (but my standard blogging skills seem to be lacking of late). I'm running Home Assistant on a rPI 4 along with a more powerful ubuntu box running my home security camera setup using motioneye. I've got some tasmota firmware flashed sonoff devices littered around as well as custom alexa integraions for some of it.
You should definitely post about it. :)
