Array-C should be online very soon

in #solar5 months ago (edited)

With all the PV wiring ran, panels up, batteries and inverter in place. Now just the component wiring is needed and we should be online with over 9000 watts of power along with 15kWh of battery power as well.

We went with a different fondation this time for the ground mount kit. Still using 6x6 posts, but now there are 2x6 horizontal spanners that everything is attached to.

These panels will be ran in series to produce around 285v of DC power, with two strings I should have over 9000 watts peak.

Using the same Sol-ark 15k, so theres room to grow if I want more panels.

Everything will be routed into this, it is basically the "solar computer" lol.. also known as a all in one inverter.

The panels are small, only 190w each. But with 48 of them they should be quite powerful.

I could have got larger panels, but the ground mount kit had an option to buy panels to. Since I had lots of trouble with my last ground mount kit I wanted to make sure I got compatible panels this time around so less problems to deal with.

Glad to have smaller panels though, dealing with my 450w panels they were quite cumbersome.

The biggest change to this build compared to my previous arrays A/B is a modular battery setup. I am using Pytes V5 server rack batteries this time.

I build the enclosure for the three batteries that will sit in here.. giving me 15kWh of stored power. I will need this power for night time during the winter to heat the pump house, to keep everything from freezing.

I think I am going to love this battery setup. May just add them to my other arrays, luckily my sol-arks can handle two separate battery banks.

Now I need to wait for some electricians to come by to wire it all up! Hopefully I can get this done in a week or two and it should all be online.

That's a cool setup. I assume you have a decent source for panels. Are those coming from China? I would think that the tariffs could make them less affordable and that would be a shame.

Thanks, The brand is eco-worthy and yeah appears they are from china. I got them months back so it probably before all of that.

Good morning, dear friend @solominer

What you're doing adding more solar power is very interesting. The kit is very tempting and looks really great. I hope the electricians arrive soon to install everything and start generating more solar power.

Excellent installation work. Everything will be up and running soon.

Have a beautiful Sunday.

Ah thanks, I still have some electricity bills but working my way to get off the grid as much as possible.

Uhh, looks very nice Solo!
Have you thought about having Vertical solar panels and grow shade crops nearby? :D

Thanks much, I considered it but I do not want to be digging in the ground for a garden where some high voltage lines may be.

That is actually a really really good point I hadn't considered. You would have put those cable very far down under the ground before its not a problem. (I dont know your rules in US or you state about these stuff) :D

Looking forward to seeing the new combined stats. We had another good month on our panels and ended up with only a $16 electric bill for last month. I think mostly fees or something because we still had a carry-over credit from the previous that isn't all used yet.

Should be a nice boost in the megawatt production for sure.

That is so cool, I do not think I have a big enough battery bank to get me through the night without powering many things down first.

That's a cool setup my friend . I assume you have a decent source for panels. All the best.

Hope the wiring goes smoothly so you can start powering everything up soon

Not gonna lie, you are kind of my hero!

Thanks man, it feels good to be doing cool things like this.

I hope it will work well I want to see the sequel you will make you

Soon enough it should all be going.

👏👏👏👏👏

Wow what impressive progress. And hopefully the final stages will go smoothly and Array-C will be fully active soon, my best friend.

I hope so soon, only a matter of time now.

Well understood but please what trouble did you have with your last ground maunt tool

I had the wrong size panels for the ground mount kit I bought. So this time I got the a kit where they all come together. Also putting them on vertical 6x6 posts it seems over time they may need to be replaced more.
