πŸ’³100% PowerUp vs πŸ’³50/50 Default. Which To Choose?

in #steem β€’ 8 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemian and Happy Fork Day! Adil here.

First of All let's understand What does 50/50 Default and 100% Power Up mean.

  • Power Up 100% Means that all the Money made by this Post will go Straight to Your Steem Power Account.
  • Steem Power is the one that Grows in Value as Steem Currency's value grows.
  • The Only Problem with Power Up 100% Is that you can't Easily Cash Out your Money. It takes 13 Payments within 3 Months to what's called "Power Down" when you move steem power to Steem, then you can cash your money out.
  • Default 50/50 is When you Receive 50% of what your post makes in Steem Power and 50% in Steem dollar, Which you can easily and relatively quickly cash out!

Conclusion:

  • If you don't need money Now I would Highly Suggest that you Power Up. So that when Steem's Value SkyRockets so Does your Wallet!
  • If you Need some money now then do 50/50 and cash out whatever you need, the rest you can Quickly transfer into Steem Power.
  • Update: I have received a few tips from @evolved08gsr and @kouloumos and he reffered to @jerrybanfield Saying that It makes more sense to go 50/50 all the time and if you need more Power You can power Up at any Moment!

Sort: Β

I'm new and I'm not looking to cash out anytime soon so I've been using 100 percent steem power. The more steam power...the more value your votes yield right?

Yes, More Power = Higher Voting Value

If SBD is over $1 value, always use 50/50

@Steemgoblin explains it pretty well right here. @markrmorrisjr check out #dolphinschool for more great tips!

Thanks for the post! Very helpful!

Search in steemit, I think somewhere in @jerrybanfield posts, he mention that even if you want steem power it's better to take 50-50 because with steem dollars you buy more steem which you later power up to steem power.

This method makes the most sense. Since steem generally has a higher value than SP. You get more of a "bang for your buck"!

@kouloumos @evolved08gsr Just Updated This Post! Thanks for the info

Nice! Listening is power, thx for the mention

Let it go. I erased my links.

Talk about reviving an old thread!!

EDIT: oh, you're spamming.. i see...

No, I'm offering solid content. It's not even mine, but of course I'm leaving my mark. No offense intended.

Was it necessary to SPAM this "solid content" on as many comments as you could find? I'm not flagging you for it.. but I'm definitely calling you out for taking your, potentially innocent, intent way too far.

Sure, the article was OK, but it's far from the best one I've seen on the topic (neither is the OP's article here). And as you can tell from the OP's post, it's clearly not an original topic, nor is the advice on how to select 100% SP vs 50/50 rewards. That's all I'm saying.. oh, and..

spam

verb
verb: spam; 3rd person present: spams; past tense: spammed; past participle: spammed; gerund or present participle: spamming

  1. send the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet.

Perhaps you don't understand flagging. My rep is 16 points higher than yours. I'm immune to the power of your downflagging. @steemgoblin is supporting #dolphinschool and some other projects, if it's any of your business, but here, let me just delete the link you didn't bother to follow

Oh, and why is @steemgoblin constantly paying you?

I See!!

indiscriminate: done at random or without careful judgment: your post was outdated and wrong. It was on this topic, I took a chance to educate some people. Problem solved and you are muted. Good day.

Hmm Interesting Point! I am always open minded to new ideas. I will take a look, thanks for letting me know!

Great explanation. I've been focusing on powering up, being a wimpy minnow and all XD

Me too.

It can be hard to get a leg up if you're unsure of what's going on.

I was just wondering this! Your posts are so comprehensive and definitely take a bit of the worry out of whether I am doing this correctly. Thanks!

Thank you :) I try my best to make it simple so that people who's first language is not English also Could Understand.
I guess it makes it even easier for people whos First language is english :) I am glad it works out

It is absolutely fantastic.

My first language is English, but I found I missed a few things/ was confused by a few things when I was learning about Steemit. You break everything down into very accessible chunks and explain everything very well.

Thank you very much, I am flattered! :))

Think Papa Pepper has a video on this. He recommends 50/50 if I recall correctly.

If SBD is over $1 value, always use 50/50
