This is a blog platform money are benefit. If you join in order to make living from it you need to invest. Money and time .
You come some days ago spam your shit post and try to make hundreds of dollars from it? You even did guide how to having no idea about how Steem even work . Post like how to be sucssesfull in Steem , beginers minnow guides , how to make your shit post sexy ....... or every stupid idea you get about crypto ?
You are to lazy to read or comment on people work but still YOU demand upvote ? You hate to be minnow ? Than work for it nothing come easy in life !

What I would say is the numbers are important for the growth of Steemit. Let me share with you something I learned from a different platform.
I was working on a platform in 2013 and was a early adaptor, but I didn't really like what the platform owners were allowing to happen when it came to the quality of members. So I stopped working on the platform, but very much kept an eye on what was going on.
What I didn't realize was that this platform needed the numbers for social proof, and once they had that they could raise the bar on quality. When they had 10 million members everything changed. They could now be picky on quality over quantity.
You see with this sort of social proof 'hay we have 10 million members' is much easier to entice quality content creators that 'hay look at us we have 250K members'
The platform I was working on understood this, at the time I did not....
Now looking back, although the platform was flooded with 'crap', it was the good quality early adapters that came out on top......i am disappointed that I missed out. I did hop back in around 2015 and I am doing very well, but had I of stuck with it, I would be doing even better.
Steemit wants to grow, but are content creators interested in a platform of 250K people...lets face it, if they have monatized their content else where then a platform with 250K people is not that attractive propitiation. however when you tell them they can reach 2 maybe 3 million people with their content on steemit, then it will be attractive
So for the moment we need to put up with the 'crap' and do our best to produce good if not fantastic content, the crap will be weeded out in time, and we my dear @patelincho will rise to the top
That is an amazing view of the topic and it actually makes sense. Once the platform starts rolling out numbers the quality becomes better.

People are always try to compare to the people on trending page . They come and they demand on start the respect this people builded in last 1 year ! This just cannot woork . .... People need to lower there expectations for get rich fast and focus on better bloging and reading !

My dear, you are so right.First of all, thank you for such a post and I loved the choice of photos in this post - they are so adorable%)) As per the post itself, I am relatively new myself here (just a bit over a month) but even I noticed that some people just do not care about good content and it is all began to be a money race for them. I fully support your vision that the people's thinking MUST be changed. The same time I do know it takes time - I am affraid majority of people got used to the way of living that what they want is to have A LOT of money doing nothing, so they come with the same attitude here. You personally and Whaleshares discord do a lot to explain the newcomers the proper rules and support them, I guess one day it will kick off the point there the mass will change%)) Changes always starts with small things and also take time! So please do not be deflated and keep doing a great job!

As for shit post spam, I don't have a problem with that, they likely make nothing from it and just hurt there rating.
I really hate to do this, and I know it makes me a bad person, but as you made the mistake twice I need to point it out, you wrote than instead of then. Ahhhhh when did I become that guy that corrects people, I hate myself

how you want to do that? you can not control the mass. Like @fiveboringgames said i think a bot to downvote spam posts is a good thing.
But if the mass come we aint seeing nothing yet. the mass is not a good writer nor blogger nor are they a astronaut with moon stories.

I stumble upon steemit by accident actually..at first,i really dont know what im doing and what steemit was...took me a while to figure it out..and to be honest...i never read others article or post ...i just upvoted and resteem hope to have some pay out..haha...funny..
Im not much a writer,bloger actually and even writing this comment take me quite a time..cause if i write in my language...no body will understand..
But now..i always take time to read their post..and hopefully i gain something valueable along the way..and make improvement..

I think you guys are awesome for writing in English @patelincho . I really appreciate it. My Dutch husband speaks English to me and I haven't learned much Dutch (although I can talk to our doggies in it). So here's a THANK YOU from someone who just happened to be born in the UK and is embarrassed by her lack of linguistic ability and sometimes a little ashamed to see others have to struggle and learn it (makes you guys much cleverer, tho).
Asking for upvotes and follow is not a practice it is a total waste of time. Only good content will be helpful to grow in steemit.

I think that is fair. I have been a freelance writer for about 11 years now professionally. I am working on building Steem content but even for someone that does this for a living, I understand it can take time. Bitching never gets us anywhere. Positive is not always possible, but we can certainly try :) Thank you for the reminders. If you want something, you gotta go get it! I have loved that I have been inspired to do art, to write for myself and to explore the different avenues on Steem so far. It's nice having the ability to write and not have to have someone tell me. That can also be the downside too! It's all about getting a rythm. I am loving this platform so far. I can't wait to grow with it! <3

Yeah nothing is easy and steemit is not easy unless you have a bunch of whale supporters :) A year ago steemit were having a money spree making lots of people a whales. Now those people who became a whale are supporting each other making the eyes of minnows and new comers blown away by the rewards that almost the same people on the trending page.

I tend to be friendly with my posts and with interacting with people here in steemit. Yes I am new here, but I gotta agree with you. I hope people start getting their act together and treat steemit as an avenue to get and contribute real genuine articles, thoughts and world changing ideas, not just pictures on how good their butts look :(

Completely agree with you on this one. Steemit is not means of overnight success rather it needs hard work and time like a regular job. It's not a ponzi scheme but a genuine social platform which pays handsomely for those who provides value in here.
So I request all the steemians to develop some skills, knowledge and then come here, understand steemit first, provide some value instead of begging and then think of making a living out of steemit.

The problem is that new members upload well written content and it gets zero views. The cream doesn't rise to the top if no one sees it.
That causes people to resort to the spam techniques. For steem to grow visibility needs to be equalised slightly.
I've seen some very poorly written posts with a terrible grasp of English voted up and great posts on $0.01

Yes you need to work your way up ..... is not only content ! Is not english skils , not formating ............ is more about personal skills , time dedicated and many other things !
One of the saddest things to see is a great work being left unappreciated. I get disheartened when I see great posts not getting the upvotes they deserve. I also don't understand how some posts with no clear content could get so much upvotes. I'm very new here, just 6 days old in Steemit so maybe there's just so much I don't understand yet.
The value of a post cannot be mejured , a good post for you may dont make it any valued for me !
Let's not pretend Steemit is purely a meritocracy. People upvote wales and dolphins hoping for a curation reward and possible big upvote.
This leads to some terrible posts earning cash because people got there 1st in a land grab.
It amazes me how many people talk about financial revolution and fail to see that Steemit is the worlds economy in microcosm with it's elites above the majority.
Everyone's equal but some are more equal than others.
All upvotes should carry equal weight. That way quality content would become the main differential.

I have been around for about 4 months now, but i noticed this behavior already a few weeks back. Things like follow for a follow is not an exception anymore. I have the feeling that, just like you are saying, the new people think that Steemit is about earning money instead of what it is really meant to be; people sharing things they like, share their feelings, their hobbies and get rewarded for that.
I try to ignore the steemians that come and ask for a follow for a follow. I follow who I like and the ones I think have to give something good, funny, and sense to the platform.
Is not what Steem can give you is what what you give to Steemit !
We have an opportunity to make Steemit work. We are seeing more spam from people desperate to make a cent, but we can guide them to better behaviour. If they won't listen then we can choose to flag them so they make nothing. If they don't make money then they will change their behaviour or leave. It's up to us
The point is they come with the idea of geting rich very fast ......... and this is a problem . No one think really what it takes to do this . Just post something even is good isnt enought .......you need to really engage isnt so ?
For some people even a few dollars can change their lives and they are desperate. They will take what they can get even if they won't have a future here. The community needs to help to guide new users to act in ways that will be better for them in the long run.
You cannot expect Steemit to solve your life ....... if you come here for this you wont ever get it ! As desparate you get so less you will earn . Steem can change your life , and it will if you have the right way to do it !
Totally agree with you. Being a minnow is hard but additional couple of bucks is not worth to sink the shit like all these "follow per follow", "good post. Look at my blog", "help me to survive" or even plagiarism.
And when you support all these things you will see more and more of them in the future. We are risking to turn Steemit into a beggers area.

Im one of that new ones here, saw your text and know directly some of them you re talking about. There some Dudes and Dudettes gett thousands of Followers in a few without own Context or using parts of other texters (plagiaters) . Also i didnt get into that resteem groups because if anyone like one of my Post so he/she like it and gimme an Upvote or follow me, i think normally thats the way... You cant break in, or maybe you can try it but it will blown like a bubble. BAM its all gone...
So its nice to be a small one and being proud of that small shown Love if you earn some bucks or a new follower...

I totally agree, this place as any other requires work and energy to actually achieve something, the ''get rich schemers'' are going to realize soon enough, that they are not earning any money and probably will slowly fade away, though.
But on this way they keep complayn , and always search the fold in every one else :) Its anoyng !
There are always those kind of people, they are unhappy, disappointed and think that all the world is against them when they are the reason for their own problems. They are not happy and they are jealous of others success, but in the end of the day, we are enjoying our life and they are just a nuisance that will fade into the oblivion. They can't actually have an impact on our lives.
I saw the troll yesterday in the steemit chat, that guy got put to his place fast enough.
They are annoying, though, I definitely agree with that.
Its up to us to deal with people like this :)

No, I will not criticize your vent post at all. I just wanted to say hello. I create art and I'm in the learning phase of this social site and cryptocurrency. However, you are right the negativity is something I have noticed since day one and I have been in many social sites.

You're right! But because I blog about weed and alternative spirituality, I also see the TROLLS! There are loads of them here. I was in chat trying to collaborate with someone and he turned out to be one! Then yesterday I was cozied up to by a plastic guru who was copying and pasting from Yogananda. I could write an essay but I won't. There are also accounts here who are doing nothing but putting out "normal" stuff all day - articles like "Why vaccination is good for your kids" - stuff like that! Steemit is a HOTBED of trolls. I love it, tho :) Steem on :)
