5 Downers, 10 Uppers: A Year Addicted to Steemit (Happy Birthday To Me!) + 10 STEEM BOUNTY!

in #steembounty5 years ago (edited)

VENDORS SLIDE.jpg

Oh gosh, my Steembirthday was last week! A year addicted to Steem! It's kinda wierd to think of me a year ago, super nervous about my introduce yourself post, posted a couple of weeks after I signed up. AW, look how young-in-the-steemwheel I am! Making sure I'm backlit so no one really sees me. Well, a year on and I think most of you know me pretty well, and some of you even follow me and comment on my posts and stuff, so cheers for that! Turns out I shouldn't have been so nervous after all.

5 DOWNERS

  • Sometimes I spend hours and hours on a post and no one would read it. And the shitpost above you in the feed got a $80 dollar payout because they are cooler than you. This used to bother me. A lot. Now I don't care. It's just writing. No one has to read it. And sometimes it's just dumb luck - you post at the right time of day, or a whale reads it, or someone cool resteems you.
  • Some twat downvoted my post. Trolls exist even on Steemit. Rattled me - but I let it go. Doesn't mean a thing in the grander scheme of things, and their downvote is as pathetic as they are. Saying that, I've accidentally hit the downvote button twice and had to explain myself. Sorry @surfermarly. How embarrassing. Flagwars and downvotes are for assholes. Unless you are a racist homophobe, in which case you deserve it. I think.
  • The Hardfork meant we couldn't post for a week, and created some intense FUD - what a crazy week that was. Could we trust that STINC was making decisions in our best interests? Would we recover from a week without steeming? Turns out we did, and we all had a nice time. The RC credit thing has been a bummer, but we all just stepped in to help out, delegating and supporting new comers. Oh, that's an upper, isn't it?
  • The crypto market crashed big time and with that, many good Steemians left the platform, disillusioned and unwilling to post if they weren't going to earn what they were earning when they first started. Come back! Please come back! We miss you! On the flipside, the people who did stick around are doing okay for themselves and will be in a good place when the market goes up again and everyone comes back. Yay.

10 UPPERS

  • People should make effort to tell people they care about what they do. It really can make the difference to someone's day. This is what @llfarms did when I was feeling a bit despondent - she made sure she took the time to respond to my C.O.D (my comments of despair) with enough love to make me cry. And then she randomly delegated me 1000SP for the month one day, totally out of the blue, in recognition of my efforts on Steemit. It was the first big delegation I'd ever recieved and ironically I had left all my despair behind at that point, but boy it was a nice gift to recieved, and I upvoted like a mad woman that month to spread that love around.
  • I made a lot of friends. Who would have thought I'd have friends in Spain, Texas, the Ozarks, Colorado, and all sorts of far away places within a year? Honestly - you all rock. You know who you are! I love you! You're welcome round for a cuppa at mine anytime, and you know that. Thanks for putting up with my craziness, my ups and downs and highs and lows. You have made my year really, really cool.
  • I spoke on voice for the first time in a Discord radio show. The one time that I accidentally left my mike on @mrprofessor said "I can 'ear you tyyyyyypppppppppinnnngggg' and scared me so much that I slammed my laptop shut in horror. A few weeks later I actually spoke in a radio chat with Natural Medicine crew and it was SO.MUCH.FUN. Thanks @metametheus and @thetreeoflife for making me feel so comfortable. We spoke for two hours and I buzzed all weekend off the loveliness of that chat. I'm still terrified of voice though - have a show coming up with @pennsif soon and trying to psyche myself into NOT tripping over my words.
  • I won 20 Steem randomly just for being in a chatroom - I think that was @llfarms again. In fact, I've won a few things, which is a real buzz. Plus, I've run a lot of competition on Steemit too and it feels good to reward people for their efforts!
  • I won a short story competition for a horror story I wrote called 'Horses' - it was such a buzz. I also got a huge whale upvote for that - around 70 dollars at payout. Ah, those were the days. It was really cool to win that contest and inspired me to go in more.
  • I was accepted into Tribe Steem Up, whose ethos matches my own. This blew me away, as there were some talented people in there and I felt quite humbled they'd let me in. I met some really nice crew in there that I admire to this day. I also absolutely loved being involved with @ecotrain, @freedomtribe and @earthtribe, meeting some like minded folk whose friendships I really value.
  • I started Natural Medicine. What a awesome few months that's been! @naturalmedicine promotes natural healing wisdoms from herbalism to yoga to mushrooms to - well, anything really! - on the Steem blockchain and I'm super proud for hanging in there during the slump. We've got an awesome core team who are dedicated and bloody lovely, and I've learnt a lot! Man, it's gonna be busy when the bulls start a-runnin'!
  • Homesteaders CoOp started up, and I got involved, and I'm so glad I did. It feels great to help support an ethical marketplace run by steem! Such a beautiful vision, and so many great people offering products and services.
  • I fine tuned my writing skills. I love writing. It's meditative and helps me work through shit. It's a creative outlet too. I think I've got a little better at it, and it's been nice to have an audience. Thanks for reading!!
  • I have learnt ALOT! I've learnt so much from reading your posts, about all kinds of things from gardening to what it might be like to live in Belize, Costa Rica or Nicaragua. I've learnt more about America than I ever have before, and hey, turns out Americans are pretty cool people. My geography has improved - I now know the difference between the east and west coast of the States. I met a lot of people in India too. And if I don't know something, all I have to do is ask and a Steemian will answer. You guys beat Google, hands down.

You know, I could probably think of twenty uppers, but I think that's enough to say both to myself and to Steemians in general that this place is worth all our efforts. I'm lucky that I'm in a position to not desperately need steem to survive, so the upvotes aren't as important to me as the friendships and other benefits for being on this platform. Perhaps that's why it's been easier for me to stick around. I've also worked out a steem life balance - I don't post every day like I used to and I'm okay with that too. Steem free days also are good for me - it's nice to step away from the screen for a bit. I know it's not going anywhere, and it'll be here and smiling when I get back.

Want some free steem?

I've set a 10 Steem Bounty on this post. This means that if you write a good comment, I'll upvote it and you'll win part of that bounty on post payout.

To join in the party, tell me one downer and two uppers about your experiences on Steemit!

HI @riverflows

Congrats on your Steembirthday and well done for sticking it out this long especially with so many defecting due to the price it really shows we are building more than just a money making platform when I see people sticking around regardless and enjoying all the platform has to offer

I wish you all the best and I hope you continue to use steem and continue to grow. We're still very much at the starting point and who knows where this could go so lets all enjoy the ride together

Thanks so much! Appreciated!!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY @riverflows! That was quite a year you had and could only happen here on Steemit!
I'm so, so happy we have made this connection here on Steemit! You have been an inspiration to me so many times and through following your writing (you know I am a big fan of your writing) I have upped my writing game too!
How wonderful it was that you created #NaturalMedicine! It has made a big difference in many peoples lives to have a place for uncensored sharing of any and all of the different avenues natural medicine covers.
Such wonderful folks in the community and I love being part of the team to keep it running! Same with Homesteaders Coop!

I do so hope that one day we will be able to meet in person but it is pretty cool that we can now hear your voice on Live chat!

Thanks for the Bounty on this post!
My one downer -
The uncertainty of where this platform is going, I love it and the people on it but I know that there can be changes made so quickly and it all could be taken away. (but we still have Discord to connect - great Natural Medicine discord channel by the way!)

2 Uppers
Oh it's got to be the fabulous connections and friendships I've made here, people I never would have connected with else wise and folks from all over the world (reminds me of the days when I had pen-pals!)

Seeing what I had envisioned for ways to have a better future starting to manifest here on the blockchain and that I get to play a part in it coming about! So no matter what happens to Steemit that has been truly valuable to me and I'm sure with all the connections I've made it will continue to manifest and make for brighter futures! Definitely will make my future brighter!

♥♥♥ Meeting you on Steemit = BEST thing ever! ♥♥♥ You really have done and experienced a lot of new stuff in such a short time, I always thought you'd been on steemit a lot longer than that. I am a huge fan of your short stories/fiction and everything else you write too! I adore you xx

Aw.... I get hearts and all! Thanks so much!!! I adore you right back! Couldn't be here wihtout you!

Hi dear, CONGRATS what a ride it is here ! Its a great life gives us this extra ! The downers well he they Will always be There, and alot off the times feel unfair. I choose to close My mind to that. I Made alot of friends Thats what counts. And for a socialvirgin I now have friends in every timezone and No downer can beat that.
So Nice to See All you accomplishments and the network you build. I salute you on this birthday-on-Steem and wish you many more. NAMASTE

I agree - I have friends in so many timezones and that's super cool! Namaste to you, sister of the blockchain! xx

The best thing is there is always someone awake !

To begin with, congratulations on surpassing one year on Steem.

I believe it is a pretty rough journey at the start for everyone until we get to know people who share the same niche or passion as us.

In this light, I would describe my downer and uppers as requested.

Downer

  1. I love the idea of making videos and posting them through dtube but dtube is well known for being biased in curating vlogs. As such, this is a pain for someone like me who because I am always discouraged to do a video and end up up without an upvote for which Dtube still takes 10% of author rewards as beneficiaries. I mean it sometimes takes me an hour or more to edit a video. So, this outcome is insane!

Uppers

  1. I won 25 Steem in a bounty in December last year and it was placed by the Co-founder of steem bounty @knircky himself. I cannot remember ever winning anything close to 15Steem (I remember winning 10SBI lol)

  2. I was able to pick out two dApps on Steem that suit me (Partiko and dpoll) and give in my 100% in using and promoting the dApps. Today, I am a well known and respected user of these dApps. PS: You can see me at the leaderboard of these dApps.

Have a great weekend!

Posted using Partiko Android

Wow thats a huge bounty to win!! Nice!

I never know if a dtube is going to reward me or not and I didn't realise they took a big cut!! Do you think writing a post takes less or more time than a video?

Thanks for your comment.

Posted using Partiko Android

Writing a post takes less time than a video.

It is easy to record a video but the main task is to edit it. Video editing is complicated and It would take an hour or more to edit video such that it becomes presentable and Interesting depending on the length of the video.

Happy Steem b’day!!! 🎂🎉

Thanks for all that you bring to the wider community. I don’t think I’d be as active had it not been for your encouragement in becoming part of the NM community!!

One ‘up’ for me is the sense of community that is here despite the price drop and all the challenges the blockchain has gone through. That’s what I remain here for, that’s who I keep creating content for: the stayers!

Another ‘up’ for me is the way engagement is, for the most part, respectful and inviting even when there are differences. Of course things can get heated, and I have a couple of times seen engagement which was rude, discourteous, and downright mean.... but that was the vast minority of cases... and nothing like the level of trolling and vitriol found on certain other platforms.

A ‘down’ for me is how the prospect of financial reward can lead to inauthentic commenting and posting. I particularly noticed this when I set bounties on some of my posts. Some folks are commenting purely to get free $TEEM, and clearly haven’t read the post or care about what’s written beyond getting a share of the bounty. Engagement works when it’s genuine and authentic, and spam comments irritate me...

... so the real ‘downer’ is actually how I react negatively to those situations. I have expectations that other folks will express themselves authentically, and so the lesson for me is simply about kindness. Because I just don’t know whether someone is being genuine or not, and I’m just projecting that and being overly-judgemental.

So that ‘downer’ is also somewhat of an ‘upper’ if it’s helping me change my own attitudes and behaviours.

Let’s go celebrate this somewhere....

🤗😘🙏🏽💚☯️🕉😁

As I wrote my post I kept thinking how downers are actually uppers in suprise. Like the snoring man in savasana I am entering infinite space. It's not his fault I'm pulled back.. it's mine, for giving it my attention. How wise of us that we can see lessons in this instead of hook attention on negatives. Like the flagwars or whales upvoting each other, I choose to ignore it. Although I DID NOT like it when one kept arriving in my feed with the C word in it, which made me wonder about why I felt so strongly about that in particular...

So glad you are still here... great comment, and as I know you, absolutely authentic.

Do you wait til Day 7 to go upvote the comments when you set a bounty? Don't want to jump the gun.

Posted using Partiko Android

Well I always vote as I read them, only because I may forget to do it before payout... and then the bounty bot just gives it to everyone equally.

And I think the % of the vote also influence how much of the share of the bounty everyone gets.

You @riverflows are one of the most generous, upbeat, kind, and down to earth persons I have met here on the blockchain... and I genuinely mean that from my heart!

The one downer I would have to say is the sense of anticipation one gets when they first start out on the blockchain, I am fairly new myself so I am going off my most recent experience. By this I mean, I didn't start out on the blockchain in anticipation of any type of monetary reward, for me it is all about the acceptance. So, when you first start out with high expectations that everyone is gonna love you and upvote you right out of the starting gate, it might be a bit of a let down... when you see your posts making pittance, it is a tough pill to swallow and I know that pretty much every newbie will encounter this.

My first upper feeds off the downer and is to say that "don't worry, it will happen with some effort". I am in no way suggesting your payouts will be huge if that is what you are here for, but I will say that if you put a little effort into finding your community, then your rewards will be huge! You will meet your family, your tribe, your place! It's all about the community, and once you start interacting on Discord you will meet the most wonderful people which will lead you down new adventurous paths, traveling the world (yes, you meet people from everywhere and learn about where they live and then you can dream and imagine), you will start digging deep within yourself from your communications with others.... you eventually become a better person, be it small or be it big!

My second upper is the capacity. Life is not about the destination, it is about the journey. In my opinion, nothing beats the journey of life-long learning! Whether it be from the many wonderful posts, the fantabulous people you meet, the communities you join, the challenges you take on to understand the blockchain and Discord and formatting and image fixing, or anything.... you are learning. You are feeding your mind and brain which in turn may help prevent alzheimer's and dementia. You are growing and changing and experiencing things you may never have thought possible. You are walking paths you may never have walked before and journeying in ways only previously possible by transportation, now you can reach it through access of the internet. The capacity of what the blockchain holds is not limited to your front porch, it is only limited by your imagination.

Thanks @riverflows for the opportunity to participate in another generous and selfless act from you! 🍬

@thistlerock, sometimes I'm suprised to remember you haven't been here that long - you came out with your intelligence, kindness and great comments and interactions from the get go, making you a perfect Steemian!! I love this comment - it's thoughtful and inspiring! And thanks so so much for your kind words about ME! I had to read them a few times just because they were so lovely!!! Thank YOU!

@riverflows I must confess that you are an amazing person with a uniquely awesome personality. Happy steem birthday to you. thank you for your consistency, you ever-increasing wisdom, and knowledge and your devotion towards the steemit community and most especially our NM community. You are An Inspiration to many and to me directly, thanks for being a friend and I hope to learn a lot more from you. happy birthday!!!!

Humbled, my friend! Thanks so much. I appreciate your kind words, and am loving your inspiring, kind words you write on your posts. The world needs more of you!

And you too. The world needs you! Xx 😁

You said twat. 😂 You are really the best, for sharing and expressing and just being you. Also, if I didn't know you were so mic shy I never would have guessed, you come across as confident and passionate about topics, and like you kind of enjoy it! I get that fear though, I have it too.

OK for my 1 sad and 2 glad!
1 glad... I started writing again!
2 glad... Being involved in some incredible online communities. I learn so much from everyone here. It's exciting to see conscious people coming together and sharing all kinds of knowledge.
1 sad... The only sad I have is that I'm rarely interacting on steemit anymore, and I miss the community. But I'll be back! 😊

Xx ToL

  • My downer is whale wars where nasty comments get dropped on to the posts of innocent people who do not even know what is going on. The spamming of the "c" word on curied posts was the worst, but all of it makes me sad. I know there are only few whales doing this, but it it so wide-reaching that it looks more prevalent than it is.

  • My best upper is being able to live off steem money and related since Dec 2017. I dropped so much of my other work, and it is a huge struggle, but somehow each month I still have a roof over my head. Living a very cheap life in Malaysia helps and I am not the only one able to do this trick, so I feel good about all the time I put here.

  • Meeting many steemers in person in various countries has been a wonderful treat. I have been pushing my natural weight loss message for 8 years now on social media. No where else has ever given me such wonderful connections and good friends.

Big congrats on all your achievements, @riverflows. You are working this place to the max and will only improve in the next year.

Great comment. Oh those nasty comments are horrible!!! What egos and lack of consideration for others.

That's amazing you have been able to live off steem for so long! Even in the downturn?

Posted using Partiko Android

Yes, since Dec 2017, but it is not always easy :)

Hi @riverflows from the other side of the world, not Australia, but Austria:-) Happy Steem Birthday and thank you for the way you are celebrating it!

  1. Downer: I hate it, when people on steemit think, no one knows me, so i can post every shit i like.... Sometimes i get such stupid answeres, but i still ignore them!

  2. Uppers: There are much more than 2 i would like to write.... First of all i love it to communicate with people in other countries, read their thoughts, traditions, problems,.... and to see some pictures of Spots and moments in this world, you would Never see with your own eyes.

And the second one: My english is really worse, and with steemit i have to train it,... very simple but i hope sometimes effective!

Greets from LowerAustria, Robert

image

Ps: We don‘t have Kangaroos but also Mountains and pretty good tasting Austrian Wine!

Great comment! Ah yes, Austria - only a few letters away from Australia! You know, I don't think I've had Austrian wine! I have been to Vienna, many moons ago. I agree - love connecting with people in different parts of the world - that is something Facebook doesn't offer! I know there is quite a lot of people here to improve their English - I tell you one thing, your English is far better than my Austrian German! I can only count and say please and thankyou! Oh, and order beer. But Australians can do that in any language. By the way, my Dad was born in Munich, and my (late) Grandpa was from Ljubljana, so if they didn't migrate to Australia after the war, we would have been neighbors!

The biggest upper for me is a platform of relative permanence with different social values, giving people with something real to say a special place to become relatively immortal. LOL. And a core of very cool people pushing at the edges of paradigm shift. The biggest downers for me? steemchasers!! Urgh. People who chase steem like bubbles at a kids party and post any amount of drivel just for an upvote... includes 573 actifit "posts" in my feed yesterday, lots of competitions and just so much noisy drum banging. If we have great content, it WILL find its level - always grateful to @kenistyles for implanting that thought deep into my brain. Keeping my circle tighter, using my time to post well within my agenda & my values, and enjoying the moments. Happy Steem Birthday. Haha...I think my steem birthday came and went unnoticed. :)

Ha, I was looking out for my birthday so I had an excuse to write a post and connect with people - I've not been thinking about writing much lately! I'm not that keen on actifit unless it tells a story... I tend to just scroll past them. I do think there's something for everyone here - not everyone can post amazing content, but I do think there is room for 'ulog' style posts. I don't like the masquerades - i.e pretending they're a great post when they aren't, plagiarism and so forth, but I think the environment here has changed from it's initial 'get paid for great content' to 'let's all interact and upvote what you like' which is fine by me really. I'll just scroll past the shitposts. Love your posts - you are consistently good at what you do and I'll never scroll past yours!!

Sorry I missed the basil challenge.... am on my way to the Burmese border for biz today-tomorrow & just couldnt get there... slept thru my 3am "must post" alarm & here we are. Grateful for partiko, strangely, which is really helping me to comment & upvote more.

Woman, my first upper here, and it came just when I was close to giving up, was your generous delegation to me. Since then it's been mostly uppers. I feel that the RC problem is an upper in that so many people come to a newbie's rescue, to help, upvote, advise or delegate. I love that about steem - it can bring out people's best qualities. I do it when I can, and look forward to the day that I can delegate to help someone out. Learned how from the best!

Another upper is that I now have interests that I did not have when I started! Scrabbling about for path forward, I first found the homesteaders community - I have learned a tremendous amount from all the posts there.

My only downer is when I post something I think is brilliant (I love the freewrites) and not a single human reads it, only a bunch of bots. I'm happy for the earnings, but a human's comment is a far bigger thrill.

I feel blessed to have "met" you here. xo

I try to read you when I can. Your writing is always worth stopping by for. Glad to help. Xx

What a touching first year story, it's very nice to meet you @riverflows. Many of us are hitting our first year and celebrating-the blockchain was big last year and most were in it for the cash. People who have survived this downturn had he pleasure of improving their blogging and curating skills. Some of us have made real world friends and we all get genuine pleasure from reading great posts. Keep it up and see you around!

Hey @riverflows. Congratulations on your one year journey. I was able to relate myself with so many things that you have mentioned in this post. My one year journey also had similar experiences.

More than money making, we have all made lots of beautiful friends here. That is so true. For someone like me who is not very good at socializing, still Steem has been a great place to make friends and share the knowledge.

In your one year journey, you have achieved so many things and I would like to specially thank you for starting @naturalmedicine community. I'm very glad to be part of the community. 😊

Wish you many more years on Steem. Love from India... ❤️❤️❤️

Hi and welcome here! When I started on steemit, my biggest problem was to find interesting people to interact with. So, to help newcomers getting started I created a directory with other interesting and or talented steemians to follow or interact with. Feel free to check it out at https://www.steemiandir.com I am sure it will help you find like-minded people. Enjoy your stay here and do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions!

Thanks very much, seems this is an auto reply as I'm not sure you show you read my post at all? :P

yes and no... :-)
Yes, I don't read all the posts where I comment on. I comment and upvote everyone (within the limits of my RC) in the hope to be of help for newcomers here.
But: I read all the posts where there is a reaction on my comment… those are the people who are polite & maybe interesting enough to add in my directory later on...
And BTW: congratz with your steemit b-day;-)

Thanks lovely. Love the service btw.. New Steemians need our help! 💚💚💚

Nice that you take the time to tead such a great blog about a milestone ! @anonyvoter

I'm a nice guy… en graag gedaan ;-)

I know en je doet goed maar als iemand een mijlpaal haalt zoals deze fantastische steemer is het fijn als het niet als autobot overkomt, mensen verdienen dat hun blog gelezen worden
No hard feelings 😉

You said it in your bio BECAUSE QUALITY DESERVES RECOGNITION

Also I would like to talk to everyone out there on steem new and upcoming like me. If you quit now you will never get another opportunity like this, I know it might hurt sometimes but you gotta be consistent and have faith that you will get to where you ought to be.

Most people need to know there is GAIN in CONSISTENCY. So please guys follow good examples like @riverflows @porters @nateonsteemit and some other wonderful steem heads.

Aw, thankyou. You should join in the Engagement leagues, which you can find here: https://steemit.com/@abh12345 - you can meet some people and maybe win steem for engaging! @abh12345 is a super nice bloke and works hard to support us all too.

Happy anniversary. That is one big, big year you've had here.

And you are definitely now part of the fabric of Steem.

I look forward to talking with you more on the upcoming show.

Thanks lovely, appreciated - it's nice being part of the steem fabric and being recognised as such - who woulda thunk it.

Happy steemiversary and a damn good job on all you've done here! Steem sincerely wouldn't be the same without you.

The biggest downer since I've been here is that so many people have left.
Uppers are that communities are getting so much stronger now than at the top and that so much development has happened since then. This place has become really awesome. And check out that little price pump today!

Posted using Partiko Android

Thanks so much gorgeous. You and I both know how awesome this place is. And yes, saw the price pump as I was changing some SBD to steem so I could set a bounty! So good. Watch them all come back as it goes up! Just keepin' their seats warm, you and me. x

Horses? I see no horses! (link needed)...

I've loved being in Natural Medicine, it was exactly what I was looking for when I got here. I had no idea you'd been at this for less than a year, though. Congrats! <3

I can't bloody find it on Steemit now.. too far back and Google doesn't seem to list it.

But I put it on Medium.. enjoy

Yep I was thinking a lot about the wow no one actually reads a lot of the posts aswell.

But I agree with you, it‘s something I also do it for myself.

Like some sort of diary or a photobook, it helps improve writing skills and hey maybe someone still reads and is just quiet about it.

Let’s not lose motivation, because we have so many interesting and positive minded people on here, it’s absolutely crazy.

And if Steem blows up, I don’t want to be the guy who missed out.

Good luck on your further journeys.

Like some sort of diary or a photobook, it helps improve writing skills and hey maybe someone still reads and is just quiet about it.

That's a great way to see it!! When I do that personally I go back and comment, coz I know how important it is to people.

I on Steemit also experiences a few downvote,
some people will downvote my post,
let my heart sad,
because I will think, is it that I am not good at writing or I have violated some taboos?
so I don't like the design of downvote, Because downvote is often used indiscriminately...
The worst thing is that someone will designed you on his robot,
he uses his robot to downvote all your postings and replies.
causing your all posts to become hidden, very annoying,
because those posts are just chat, Didn't get any upvote,
so his one vote downvote, let post become hidden, very annoying.
Somes doesn't view your post is good or bad,
all downvote your post , really, will make people very discouraged.
Let me worry about the prospect of steemit.

Oh no did that happen to you?? So sorry to hear.

Congratulation on your Steem birthday ( Anniversary) ...the uppers is more than the downers so you have more enjoyable time..on Steem keep the momentum going as users like your presence around.you make people flow on Steem river naturally and bring the best of them....with more positivity👌...thanks for keeping your self active all the time.👌

Thanks flow bro! You too. You are a force indeed here... can't believe how many Partiko points you have! What a legend.

Congratulations my dear. You have come a long way in a short span of time and achieved quite a lot. I wish you loads of success for the times ahead.

Thanks so much! I have worked hard, like you... strategised and sweated! I used bidbots early on for a bit which helped bump me. Not anymore though and not for ages as I don't think it's fair use of reward pool. But it did help me get a leg up. Mostly though it was writing and commenting! Xx

Dear @riverflows, thank you for posting your sensations which are almost same of mine about the downers, about uppers you did really so many things in one year and you build up your minnow I position, which is a very good target after just one year (i just got Plancton II...;D).
I think even @steem-bounty is a nice place where to find many friends, what do you think?

What do you mean? Find friends on bounty posts like this one? Maybe, if you come back and comment on other posts too? I have found a friend or two via comments for sure!!

Posted using Partiko Android

I mean about the way to use @steem-bounty not Just to do some contest but in the way to ask opinions over It. I found many people can help a lot...:))

Posted using Partiko Android

Ah yes, that's true!!! Sometimes you have to set a bounty to get engagement, which is sad, but still, I really have loved everyone's comments here and am busy replying! Fun!

Wow! You have accomplished so much in 1 year! Way to go!

I started on Steemit because you got $ for posting, but mostly, I hated FB but still wanted to post about life on the homestead. When the Steem crashed, it sort of bothered me, but I was mostly here to share what we do on the farm.

So I've kept posting as I could, but much more sporadically. Because I wasn't as active, especially when it rolled around, I never mentioned my 1 year anniversary. But I would check posts and at least upvote, even if I didn't comment much.

But I am always glad when the really active ones, like you, mention theirs. I LOVE seeing all you've done in a year. :))

I wish some of the ones I enjoyed reading when I started would come back, too....

Thanks so much! I love your comments arriving on my posts. And I love checking in on your farm - Steemit wouldnt be the same without you! I love the way you dip in and out - real life does interfere, but it's nice to know you are still here xx

I am really happy to know that there are really good users on Steem Blockchain!!!
I know that a lot of them are here for a year and are in my same position: I also celebrated my first year here last week and I was proud to read a lot of positive comments.
You are part of amazing teams like @ecotrain and I think the team in general helps users to continue their work in Steem. I hope to celebrate with you a new year the next March, 2020.
That could be amazing and maybe with more uppers and less downers😉👍

thanks - nice to meet you! I think all the downers have their upside too. See you next year!

Happy Steem birthday @riverflows seems like a lifetime ago but you were one of the few people i interacted with early on, many of the others have disapeared as the price dropped so its great to see you pushing on and helping so many through you community work. Long may ot continue 💚

Posted using Partiko Android

I'm glad we stuck together though! You've been my friend on here for ages now, feel like I've known you for ages too! So glad you around ,making me laugh and inspiring me with your life!

Long may it continue 😊

Posted using Partiko Android

Wow, only a year? That surprised me a bit. You certainly have made an impression in that time. Congrats and wishing you many more! 🎂

Thanks! It's amazing how much one can get done in a year - I've worked pretty hard though! And it's nice to see you are still here too! Love your little comments - keeps me going!

Happy steem birthday 🎉🎉😊🎂🎂 steem sure has been a roller-coaster the past year. All the best for the future 😊

My downer is when I make a post requiring a feedback and do not get one.
My uppers are the great friendship and connections made on this platform. Another upper is that, I have got to understand the cryptocurrency world using this platform. @riverflows

Ah yes learning about crypto has been fun!!!

Yea...thank you

Steem price thinking of those who do not leave the price will raise very good earnings, you said. I fully agree with this opinion. Now with this new activity, I started to see excessive mobility in forum and discord.

First of all, great post! Glad to have active people on the blockchain!!!

My downer would have to be the HF debacle...really made me really nervous not being able to access/do anything with my money.

Two uppers: I’ve conducted and won some fun contests, and I created an account for my wife and got her Actifitting! 😁

I met you on your steem b-day, so that means we are one year into our friendship, yeeeeey! It's awesome to share this crazyness with you and hopefully we'll meet soon.

Welcome and good to know that.

Congrats dear. Most of the thing we start are in the beginning though but it is left for us to stand our ground for the things that we want.the best is ending happily and reaching your destination which is our utmost priority .

Steem on and congratulations once again

My downer since I joined steemit is the issue of crashed in the crypto market prices because steemit was painted for me as a real source of income but I become adapted with it when I realized that my contribution to the platform is the real success. So to me it is not really a downer but it is a motivation if well managed.
##My upper

  • Meeting new people
It is really good to know that by now I have been connected to many personnel within and outside Nigeria which is a added advantage for me as an accountant.
  • Quality post
To say nothing but the truth, steemit is a platform that educates and widen people's horizon as a result of good and quality post been updated on the steem blockchain every meeting.
In all ramification I did not regret being a steemians because I have the chance of contributing to the advancement of the world.
Happy steemit birthday to you from a co-steemian.
